Happy Birthday Mads!
Thanks :D
you said 34 right?🤘
I learned so much from this video. Each episode is a university class in practical sailing with extra credit for FUN! Does it get any better than this? So very thankful for all the hard work filming and editing these. It takes so much work to be in media and I remember spending at least an hour per broadcast minute even on easy projects. You make it all look so effortless. I can’t thank you enough
Well said!
First things first, Happy 43 regeneration Mads. And second, that tour guide was so brilliant, you must do a small guide like this on every long stay place were you been, it would be so useful for future sailors
That was a great presentation. I love Eva’s travel log and your techie. You guys rock. M
Thanks so much!
I have been following Mads videos since the beginning and as a tech nerd I really loved the DIY videos. Since Mads had the great luck to meet Ava, I think the new ideas that Ava has integrated into the videos are very good, you complement each other very well and the result can be seen in the videos. Thank you for letting us share your journey. Many greetings from Germany ;) P.S. I was just just a week ago in Aalborg/Norresundby with my Cargo ship and had a long and funny conversation with the sea pilot who accompanied us from Alborg Bugt to Aalborg/Norresundby Port, he is also a big fan of your channel and last but not least... Happy birthday Mads.
This is one of those really great extra bonus videos you guys provide, and I love them.
I think the choice to highlight a specific location you've been able to familiarize yourselves with, is such a valued benefit for following, subscribing, and liking the videos.
This is legitimately the kind of practical information so many of us are looking for, it's no surprise you both provide so much.
Thanks again. Truly.
Props to Yousef and Rya. That was a proper tour. So friendly.
Thanks for positive n realistic feedback on Trinidad. It was out of way but I still wanted to head there when we were in Grenada. All the feedback we rec'd was no and not worth the effort. Next trip we will make the time!
Good to see Ava is now managing Mad's fashion sense with that matching t-shirt, hat, and shades outfit. If you're going to be an influencer, you gotta dress the part.
Great video & I loved seeing the food tour in Trinidad. I hope you were able to take some food back to the boat for treats on your passage. Safe travels & fair winds.
💙🇺🇸💚👍😇
this channel is so informative. well edited.good job!
Much appreciated! :)
Now I can't help looking at the hand rail with it's new cap after looking at the void for so long 😅 Looks great!
Guys thank you so much for the honest review of Trinidad. As a trini its great see you enjoy your time here and best of luck on your future travels.
I agree about Trinidad, it is a great place get boat work done. We have stayed there many seasons. We had our teak decks redone a few years ago, they did an awesome job. Glad you enjoyed your time there, hope to see you on the seas. really enjoy your videos. Autie and Janie McVicker S/V Onward lying Grenada
Thanks for another great video guys! Even though I miss the boat restoration videos, it is so nice to see the world vicariously through your journey!
Nads, there are superlatives other than super, incredibly, really, wonderfully, unbelievably and outstandingly as a few examples.
Glad you guys enjoyed Trinidad. And what the marine industry was able to offer you.
Your space at Peake yacht services will be waiting for your return.
It was great watching all your updates during your time in trini.
Safe trip north.
This was really cool to now see where you actually went when you talked in prior videos about searching around for various parts and supplies.
Happy birthday Mads. What a great food adventure. Alan
Aloha and a Belated Happy Birthday!
So ya'll have a safe trip going north. And We will be on our lanai waiting for you next video.
So until next week, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
We are watching the Volcano 🌋 a bit closer. Pele she is getting a bit restless and is starting to show sings of maybe soon of making more land.
So Aloha and cheers 🍻
Thank you so much! I hope we make it to Hawaii some day :)
Awesome again guys. Love your work. Trinidad is definitely on my list for cruising destinations
Love how you combine boat stuff with travel stuff and local information
Thanks for keeping us so well entertained
Seeeeee youuuuu!!!!!
So many crusers could take note from your historic, practical, and shopping observations. Fantastic overview keep up the great work.
Bitter sweat memories of Trinny. We spent 9 months there refitting a boat. Made some good friends there. One was shot and killed a few weeks after we left.
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Madds, Happy birthday to you!
That's a lot of good info for sailers and tourist alike . Have safe travels to the states .
Awesome Episode and Your fabulous 1st Mate. God Speed!!
Great save Mads when you guys were walking regrading the "honks". If you know you know ;-)
This video was great. I would like to formally request one of these for any stop you make.
Also, the map with the moving Mads head was so cute/cool! What kind of program did you use to make it?
Ava used Affinity Designer to make the map :) We'll see if we can make maps for the places we end up spending a bit of time (so we actually find the useful spots) :)
@@SailLifeyay, Ava! 🎉 And I look forward to more of your cruiser insights.
Grattis på födelsedagen. Hoppas du fick en riktigt skön och härlig dag.🎉
Happy birthday Mads! That food looked so delicious 🤤
I almost skipped this one because - well - no plans to visit - but excellent, much fun!
Hi , nice video to brighten up our winter Sunday . Another magic day out .Take care and fair winds on your next voyage . 😍👍👍
Whilst Mads may admire the neglected Amels as a potential refit, the problem with Amels is that many of the companies which made the custom parts are no longer in business. So forget about some sort of availability / ready supply to most corners of the globe, think about being able to find someone with the knowledge to repair, where possible. Then remember boat things double in price for every extra few feet of length.
Very enjoyable with plenty of tips along the way 👌 always enjoy watching best regards Glyn 🇬🇧
Always a lesson,worth learning.HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂
Happy Birthday, Mads.
This is great...been to many of these same places. Stayed at Crews and explored Maracas beach. I'm glad yall went into the city to taste the food...as it's so much different than Chaguaramas
Good video. Want to visit Trinidad now, although I've no idea how you guys aren't enormously fat. Happy birthday Mads.
Thanks! 100% worth visiting :)
Brilliant video. Seriously guys you have nailed the interesting video market in one go! Hoi hoi!
You guys are lucky to get out before that nasty looking spill. Stay safe.
Yeah, that is terrible! Hopefully they have plans is place for dealing with it (T&T produce a lot of oil)
Wonderful segment. Really never thought of Trinidad as a place to visit, but it might happen. Heading for Aruba in two weeks but not on our Catalina 36 as it’s cold and ice bound in Upper Michigan. Capt. Hansen Escanaba,Michigan
Happy birthday Mads. I barely remember my 43rd being 56.
Thanks for a great episode
Excellent video!
Happy Birthday Mads! Happy trails and full sails.
🎉Happy birthday🎉
Thanks for the great info!
Excellent video, safe passage to you guys!
Love the art!

Lovely episode! We really enjoyed the tour. Thanks for taking us along with you. Looking forward to more. 😎🥰💕💕💕
Happy Birthday Mads. Another informative show Ava. Thank you 4 sharing 🙂
always an enjoyable video from you guys...safe voyage north
Happy birthday! Thank you!
Mads, I must say that the first head shot of you with the broad brimmed hat and dark glasses, first thing that came to mind was the spy from that old spy vs spy comic strip!
Great video guys , i really enjoyed the format and the information. I can’t think of another Chanel that has your depth and breadth , you will be doing BBQ videos next… oh and 3d printing brewing equipment :-)
May God bless you in your travels
Thanks :)
Happy birthday 🎉and all the best wishes looking forward to more videos from you both
You guys are awesome!
Thanks :)
Great episode.
Thank you :)
Tobago's just got hit by a 15 mile oil spill ... Yesterday. The crew of the culprit vessel abandoned it and tried making scarce.
Its got into the mangroves so its going to be a difficult clean up and they are trying to plug the hole in the tanker vessel.
They will get it cleaned up but are worried it will damage the tourism season coming. So check the state of play if you are heading that way...
Thanks so much!!
Safe travels and happy birthday 🎉🎉⛵️⛵️
Nice episode.
You two are absolutely nuts in a good way. Twist hands? You meant arms, right?
Haha, Thanks :D Yeah I think that was just a bit of a verbal fumble :)
I noticed that too. Maybe it's a regional term?
Happy Birthday, Mads
Great video
Fair winds, and Happy Birthday. Stay safe.
A friend of mine failed her driving test in Antigua for not using her horn. Apparently every time you overtake you are supposed to honk, may well be the same in Trinidad.
That is a great story! :D
Hope you had an awesome birthday Mads!
Did you have the chance to see the giant turtles nesting? It’s one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life!
Happy birthday Mads!
I could use a new Yamaha 9.9 outboard, too. We can't get two stocked here in the US.
My Parents are Trinidadian! I am surprised you did not stay for Carnival!
Enjoy your Birthday Mads
great vid
Happy Birthday!!!!!
Ohhh Mads! Your dad will chime in on this too. Speaking as having been there as a young guy and now much old..er, those instances when you were sure you bought something but didn't become more common. Now......let's see what was I doing? Oh, ya, watching the rest of your video.
Some of that food looked good, and I cannot wait to Athena back out on the water
I get it. The best fish I’ve ever eaten was a smoked thresher shark. I have been trying to catch one ever since.
What do you guys think about Hunter Legend series?
Happy birthday my friend
Thank you so much :)
Have a wonderful Happy Birthday 🎂
Bake and shark is so good ❤
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD MAN
Happy birthday Mads .
Ava has really found her feet as a travel diary presenter!
great video 2x👍
Have a happy birthday. 🎇🎆
Happy birthday. You look younger!
Happy Borthday Mads!!
Have you ever set the blinking clock on the stove? Great vid and thanks for the tour.
Eva knows where to look for Mads in a Hardware store.
The Sandpaper department of course. Haha.
It's my favorite place! :D
that's quite the recommendation for Trinidad
adorbs!
“Small, but Mighty” is my tagline! LOL
Another good video with plenty of interesting stuff. What a nice engine room you half, so easy to work in. Did you try any of the scorpian pepper as a topping when you added condaments to your roll? The name suggests it would have a bit of a sting, if you know what I mean. Happy birthday Mads for next week. Don't worry about the number as its just another year. Cheers Ian
Hi Ian :) Thanks! I did not try the super hot stuff but I did try some sauces with a little bit of heat. I'm more in it for the flavour than the heat :)
Do you perchance have a link to the pump you used for the oil change? :)
Great video as always :)
anecdotally I've heard good things about both Grenada and Martinique for boat work too. I suppose it depends on where you are when you need the work, if you need full-service/turn-key service or more the DIY type of work and supplies.
I suspect Martinique will be kinda expensive, since it's considered a part of France. Upside: if you're from Europe, they're considered EU. Mobile phone EU roaming applies, etc. :-)
From what I've heard Martinique is expensive but I have no first hand experience. We got some quotes in both Grenada and Trinidad - those where very similar.
Sailing Awen was T-boned at anchor by another Catamaran comprising their entire hull.@@SailLife There is a full-service composite repair company there. They were up on the hard within 6 hours. They were repaired and back on the water in 3-weeks. Obviously that was an insurance repair but even so, impressive due to the size of the job. Does to OEM specifications and everything on a sub 1-year old boat.
What a great review. It’s a shame about the crime. But it looks like a great place
You look like movie stars with those shades 😎
