    How many hours do you do a week across all 3 apps, can you realistically work a 40 hour ,minimum wage week using all 3 apps. Or should this be seen as an extra on top of another job? In other words if I’m using all 3 apps and I have the time could I do as many hours as I want, 5/6 days a week? In a car too? I know you kind of answered that but just if you could elaborate please

      I do about 15-20 hours per week in total. However I'm so busy with my UA-cam channel that if I didn't have the channel I would be out much more. I think this work is best as a side hustle but it's very possible to earn good money doing this full week but it depends on your apps, location and vehicle.

    When delivering for Uber, Deliveroo and Just Eat what is the commission rate that you get charged per order you take for using their app? is that charge then deducted from your total weekly payment? Or is it deducted prior to your subtotal that you would get paid for each order you have just delivered?

    • @GigHustle
      @GigHustle  3 роки тому +5

      Good question. Uber takes their service charge directly from the order before showing you how much you got paid for that order. With the other apps I don't think they show you how much they are taking, with Deliveroo and Stuart you know how much you are getting paid for each order so they take their cut before they show you the fare 👍🏽

    What food delivery backpacks do you recommend? P.s love the content!

    • @GigHustle
      @GigHustle  3 роки тому +1

      If you can get activated on Stuart, their backpack is fantastic! I would say it's the best compared to Uber and Deliveroo's backpacks. You pay off the Stuart backpack as you do deliveries so there is no upfront cost, Deliveroo gives you free kit when you get activated but everyone is wearing it and I'm not sure about the quality (haven't tested it). Uber's backpack is very expensive so I don't usually recommend that! You can always buy a decent backpack from Amazon it's cheaper there too! Or you could check out Packir.com :)

    Thanks so much for your great videos and advice. Hope that you sty healthy and your folks recover quickly.
    Few questions if you don’t mind...
    Firstly, have you found a company that will insure you for any accidents that may happen while working on a bicycle?
    Secondly, how many delivery apps is it reasonable/wise to have running simultaneously (suppose it depends on the business of the day/time) as I wouldn’t want to get I to trouble with.not being reliable but at the same time want to stay as busy/earn as much as possible when working?
    On the back of this question - are any companies not happy with multiapping and can a Stuart bag and Just Eat jacket be used to deliver to any or is there a need to by and wear Deliveroo.and Uber jackets if swooping to deliver to them.
    Last question- I tried booking slots for MG Stuart work in London for next week and it seemed like they were either all gone or disappeared in a minute or two when they went live and so my question is will I get enough income if I just turn up in a zone (can I just be online at home if nothing in a zone) without a booked slot?
    Sorry about all that but these are some of the questions I have ans understand if you can’t answer them all.

    • @GigHustle
      @GigHustle  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Sean you're welcome mate :) I haven't looked into insurance too much, it would be a good idea! Especially with all this snow/ice that we are experiencing here. I would check out Kover.ai I think it could be of help to you 👍🏽
      I turn on all of my apps and then once I've collected an order I will turn off the other apps. You don't want to be picking up multiple orders from different apps, it will get you into trouble! Once you've delivered that order you can turn on the other apps. You should be plenty busy with 3 apps 👍🏽
      Uber and Deliveroo don't care about you wearing other companies branded equipment. Stuart does however. I just wear Stuart's gear for all of my deliveries to be safe. I'm not sure about Just Eat. The best solution would be to wear unbranded clothing and equipment. I'm thinking of designing my own thermal backpacks and bags because this would solve the problem as I'm not a competitor in their industry.
      Stuart's slots get taken very quickly. You have to sign up for them as soon as they are released. I can imagine in London it's pretty hard to get these slots. However slots aren't the best in my opinion it's £7.50 for bikes which is less the minimum wage. However it's guaranteed that is why people like them. If you have access to Uber and Deliveroo then it's better to not be signed up to slots because you have more freedom and you can actually earn more. On your point about being at home and waiting for an order, if you are in a zone then go for it. The closer you are to the restaurant the more likely you will get that order 👍🏽
      Hope this helps :)

      Cheers bro 👊🏽 Why are you looking for folding electric bikes? I would usually recommend a full sized mountain bike, the thicker tires handle the bumps/kerbs on the road a bit more. I would recommend spending about £1200-£1800 because you will buy quality that will last you longer and will give you less headaches. Cheaper bikes start developing all sorts of mechanical and electrical problems. Most people advertise a 30-50 mile range on one battery which is standard. You can purchase a second battery to do more deliveries. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask mate :)

      Car is the worst because you have to find parking and pay for fuel and insurance which will slow you down and reduce your overall earnings. However with car you can cover bigger distances so you will get more orders. Mopeds get the same amount of orders as cars without the need to look for parking and they are good for cities with alot of traffic like London. Bicycles cant cover as big of a distances than cars or mopeds so they get less orders but they do not have any fuel costs or insurance and is healthy for you and the enviroment. Overall I prefer bike because you get fit and get money but mopeds will get you more money and cars I dont really recommend unless you live in a small city where houses are far from restaurants.

It's so nice to park outside the restaurant on my electric bike or even inside the restaurant! I also love getting exercise and riding my bike is more fun and so time passes very fast! I would consider delivering on a moped in the future because it's easier to park then a car and it's faster! Would be pretty fun too! Not to mention that most of the apps prioritise motorbikes.

      Exactly! Well said! From what I've experienced mopeds get priority on most of the apps. I think electric bikes earn similar amounts to cars but cars can deliver for longer periods of time because they aren't using human energy as much haha

      Yes...most of your tips will come through the app and so it will be added to your payment for that order and so it's classed as income. Also you are supposed to pay tax on cash tips but most people don't. In the end you are supposed to declare any income that you are receiving. I don't personally save 20% of my income to cover my tax bill because I'm not earning that much and don't forget each year you get a £12,500 allowance so most people in this gig work don't have to pay that much tax back. I just filed my tax return and I found it very useful to use a tax app that helps you with this process and gives you lots of valuable information. There are a lot of factors to consider here! I would suggest working in the busiest times 12-2pm and 5-8pm. If you can work on different apps you will make more money because you will have more orders and can choose the best paying orders. Also the day of the week matters! Friday-Sunday are the best times to work but if you can multi-app you can make good money on weekdays. Also your area might not be busy or there is a lot of drivers. I would experiment with different areas even if that means taking transport to a different location. I put my bike in my car and go to my city and I make like £60-70 easily in 5-6 hours.

  • @zp944
    @zp944 Рік тому

    It's not fair to think of all your time in the car as "hours worked," because when you're not actively on a route, you're not actually "working."
    For example, if you were "online" while making this video, you're obviously not working for any delivery app - you're working for yourself. You own the time between drives and can do anything you want.
    If you want to accurately compare Uber to a "normal" hourly job, you can't count the down time.
