I am 19 and looking into this job. I am aware I am an adult now and can make my own decisions, but I always take my parent's concerns seriously as I do not want to worry them so I have a question. Obviously this will be an area by area basis, but how worried are you usually about someone trying to rob you for your bike or equipment etc.... Do you know anyone in the community who has had this happen? Also do you think delivery cyclers are targeted more by this sort of thing, or do you think the risk is the same as if you just went out for a walk or cycle for leisure? I am personally not really concerned with this, but I thought it would be best to ask the opinions of people who actually do the job rather than assume what they think.
That wont stop him from getting jumped by goons if uber send him blind into the hood. Should he carry a shank too??? just for some delivery job. All while uber wont even care what happens to him. @@yaskac2524 on a bike most of my deliveries are under 10mins away. Deliveroo is hiring right now and they might be quicker to get onto then Uber/Stuart (this varies from person to person). I personally use Stuart's kit, they send you a thermal backpack and jacket which is really good quality. You pay this off over time through deliveries. I would recommend signing up to all of the apps, this will really help you to get a consistent amount of orders. I LOVE riding my bike too, so making money at the same time is great :)
Second day today! Really enjoying it but I am curious if you can tell me if there’s a way to see how far the customer is from the restaurant before you accept the order? A few times I’ve been given a 2-2.5 mile journey which is stressful because the food begins to cool down/long wait as I’m a cyclist could get frustrating
In the UK and Europe we don't have access to this information until we collect the order. In the US they can see the fare amount, drop off location and customer tip before even accepting the order. It's just a matter of time before we get access to this. In regards to the food cooling down, I wouldn't worry too much about this! Obviously it's great to deliver hot food but it's not always possible and customers understand that food can get cold in transit. Even with car drivers the food gets cold. I suggest buying a smaller thermal bag to put inside your larger thermal backpack to keep the food warmer 👍🏽
I'm starting soon! For safety reasons, can I just wait with my bike outside..will the app let me know when the order is ready to pick up? I wouldn't want to wait inside for more than 2 minutes. BIke theft is big here in Toronto.

Do you have to keep messaging the customer or does the app tell the customer everything? I know deliveroo the customer gets a map to see where you are in real time. Deliveroo I rarely have to contact the customer unless I really need to. Due to the map a lot of customers wait for me outside. However I will say messaging or calling the customer especially uni orders is a big help as it prompts them to wait for u outside or to give you clear indication of exactly which block they are in. When helping my friend out in the car I’ll do all the calls etc while he drives. Over the festive period we’d wear Santa hats, staple a little merry Christmas note to the order. It helped with getting tips lol 😂
I’ve stopped messaging the customers Rich! The app tells them everything and I focus on my interaction with them when I’m face to face I love how you and your mate work together to help each other! I’m going to film a few delivery videos where I follow my friend around the city! Hi...Just a general comment about hygiene and cleanliness.. Over the winter months I've seen many food delivery workers on bikes with backpacks that are caked up in mud and grime..as they have no mudguards on the bike..if you were in a restaurant and your food came to your table in such a disgusting container, you would, understandably, be appalled🥺
Yes I agree Suneel! I have mudguards on my bike but sometimes it's difficult to not get a little muddy because we are working outdoors and often in rainy conditions so dirt tends to gather. However workers should definitely be washing their clothes and cleaning their bags to keep them clean and presentable 👍🏽
Just curious on you you decline if ever needed ...is there something you click or do you jus not tap on and it will decline being you didn't tap accept ?
You can press a button to decline. If you don't press anything after a while it will be automatically declined. Even if you accept the order you can reject it before picking up the order. It's fine to reject the order as long as you haven't picked the order up.
I’ve been doing Deliveroo since September, just got my uber account yesterday and what I realised is uber app just got too much options which makes it confusing for riders also why they don’t show the fees or address when offering an order. Sorry but Deliveroo is much better in so many ways but lovely video mate
Hey Hanif! I think with every app it takes a few days to get used to it. It's easy to get used to an app and then when you get introduced to another one we have to start learning a new process which takes time and energy 👍🏽 I agree through that not seeing the address/fare on Uber is frustrating!
@@samueldowling1866 Uber does take into account you are on a bike. They have sent me 3-5 miles before but it rarely happens that I don't worry about it 👍🏽

Hi Lan! I thought this video would be useful for people starting up :) I hope to bring you more value through my videos! Do you have any video ideas for me?
Uncertain of everything to do. I’m thinking of my first delivery - a practice run - ordering for myself ….and delivering my own order - odd ? Well, see how it goes without getting it wrong and upsetting any customers
When you message the customer before collecting the food you should also ask them to confirm delivery address. I do this. Obviously not all customers will reply. But if it's a very difficult journey (3 miles+ or all uphill) then you have the option to cancel. Obviously you do not have to do this with Deliveroo. BTW in Canada and America I believe Uber Eats shows delivery addresses to drivers when the order is offered. I'm hoping this will eventually be rolled out in the UK. Is your bike electric?
My bike is electric! I have a video on my channel showing which one I use :) Yes that is a very good idea! Only problem like you said is that most customers don't reply, but it''s worth having a pre-made message ready to copy and paste to the customer. I think I prefer just to prioritise Deliveroo over Uber because it will take time to contact the customer and wait for a reply from them. In the time it takes to get a response from the customer I would probably get an order from Deliveroo haha. In North America, Australia and New Zealand they can see the drop off location, from what I understand they are testing this out in a few cities in the UK! I hope this feature is available soon!!
@@GigHustle Yes I also prioritise Deliveroo over Uber Eats because I know the customers location. If Deliveroo is quiet I will accept orders from Uber Eats and attempt to get the delivery location. Orders from Subway, Mcdonalds and KFC are usually only short distance, so it isn't a big deal whether the customer replies to the message. It's usually the independent restaurants and takeaways where u can be sent really far and into locations that are all up hill. When sending messages I usually type the message in at the start of the shift then copy it so it can be pasted into later messages. I might look at downloading the app you mention in the video to make things easier. That is brilliant to hear Uber Eats are trialing the delivery location in some UK cities. Where did you hear this? I hope it is accurate information.
@@wozyh I've heard this from other couriers in different cities. I actually have been shown the drop off location a few times. This is usually when Uber is desperate for a rider/driver, they will show you the drop off and earnings. So I definitely know they are testing it out, I just don't know when they will make it available to everyone for every order. It will happen eventually!
@@GigHustle Ah cool, personally they have never shown me a delivery location. I think in general they may have held back rolling it out due to worries about people cherry picking orders. But obviously Deliveroo and Stuart still do it. Look forward to it been brought in properly throughout the UK. I work in Leeds and barely any of the experienced cyclists (albeit myself) will work for Uber Eats, due to not knowing the drop off address. There is a lot of people who sign up with Uber Eats but then pack it in due to the far distances and its unpredictability. It can be particularly tough if you don't have a good bike and the relevant clothing and equipment. I have a reasonably fast hybrid bike with lots of modifications and upgrades so I can stay out and keep riding for a long time without becoming fatigued. My targeted Uber Eats earnings were £100 per shift, which took around 24 deliveries and usually between 7-9 hours. Im still earning this atm, but the earnings are split between Uber and Deliveroo. I've only been signed up with Deliveroo for around 4 months. Been with Uber Eats for nearly 3 years.
@@wozyh That is good that you have a decent setup, it really helps! It can get quite tiring after 6 hours of riding on an electric bike. I would say I'm pretty fit but I still feel it in my legs haha. Uber sent me 14 miles away and then didn't pay me properly, so I don't trust them as much as I trust Stuart and Deliveroo.
I couldn't take a picture and start the deliv3rey for the address and had to return the coffee back to Starbucks. Customer service was closed for it was Sunday in Phoenix Az.. It was very embarrassing
I’ve never been able to contact Uber support on the phone here in the UK! Every time I try it goes to a dead phone line. This is when I have a live order too!
I just got an e-scooter for fun, but thinking to make some cash on the side. you video was helpful. my question is, since I am in the city downtown core. if I just want local short delivery, can I set this up? also from your video, was not clear, when I accept an order, do I know ahead of time how far away it is? I also like your bag, where did you get it?
You can just reject orders that are far away or take you away from your area. There has been an update where you can see a map with the drop off location so you can estimate how long it will take. This video will help ua-cam.com/video/EhNP78-vLtE/v-deo.html It's not easy to get my back unfortunately...it's provided by the courier company Stuart but you need to work for them.
Great video. What’s the furthest you’ve had to travel to deliver on bike? I wanna do this but worried about orders being too far away to cycle and the food staying hot.
Cheers Daniel! 14 miles check this out xD ua-cam.com/video/cAi675jC0ys/v-deo.html I wouldn't worry though this is very very rare. Most orders are 1-2 miles and if you have a decent delivery backpack the food will be warm...sometimes it might get cold but that is the nature of deliveries and it isn't just cyclists...drivers experience the food getting cold. Restaurants leave them out too long...drivers don't put them in the thermal bag properly and they also can take longer to deliver the food in some situations. Some customers moan that I deliver to them on a bike but they don't realise that I'm faster usually and I have setup my bag properly to keep their food warm. Just ignorance.
Hey mate :) Unfortunately on Uber you can't see the drop off location until you've collected the order. In the US and a few other countries you can see your drop off location, fare and tip before accepting the order! Hopefully they will bring it over here 👍🏽

Hi mate! I would avoid tech bikes, they have all the fancy gadgets which aren’t necessary and they are expensive! You want a bike that is light, has a good mileage and is robust (so will not breakdown easily, will give you less headaches and will be easy and cheap to maintain). I would spend £1200-£2000 the cost will be dependent on the size of battery you want! My dad has an electric bike shop and over the next month or so we will be getting bikes that are ideal for delivery. On some of them bikes my dad will be installing his software and kit that he has developed which makes the bike very efficient. I’ll be testing his software out very soon but I would recommend giving him a ring to ask him questions, you don’t need to buy from him but you can pick his brains :) Here is his website PoweredBicycles.co.uk
Lots of people use Zego but there could be better options! I would ask Darren The Delivery Driver who has a UA-cam channel and does deliveries in his car :)
Hi Jay, I'm new, just signed up but need to know what's best way to receive the payout. Weekly free fee, direct debit card with fee, or Uber Debit card. Thx
Cheers Daniel! I mean I could make £200 in a day if I worked for like 15 hours or so. This would be on a Friday/Saturday when it's busy. On special occasions you could do more. However it's not how I work I prefer to do like 3-8 hour shifts. Even on an electric bike it's a lot of exercise and I find myself getting burnt out if I do too many long shifts.
Doing it on a bike or electric bike doesn't require insurance, fuel or any kind of license. So it's a great way to start...it's probably the best part-time option tbh!
You’re not allowed a motor that is more than 250w but that doesn’t stop people using them...I understand why people use them because it’s more powerful and faster but it also drains your battery very quickly so you need a big expensive battery to do the miles needed. Also they are much heavier and it’s basically like a motorbike. I want to still ride my bike like a bike so that I can enjoy cycling and get exercise but also have a nice level of assistance that is smooth and helps me out without me losing the sense of riding a bike

That is great to hear! Glad I could be of help :) I made a video how to deliver drinks ua-cam.com/video/qW7cJsC4VDk/v-deo.html
I’m starting Uber eats on Sunday early morning for the first time hopefully it goes well I’m doing it in Santa Monica all day
I am 19 and looking into this job.
Be on smoke bro
That wont stop him from getting jumped by goons if uber send him blind into the hood. Should he carry a shank too??? just for some delivery job. All while uber wont even care what happens to him. Think, G. You wouldnt roll into opp block on your 1’s cos that would be dumb. Its the same ting. Uber shouldnt be sending man blind into peak ends.
just give them your bike, a job isn’t worth your life.

Fantastic video. I’ve started the process to be a Uber eats delivery driver via Push bike. Need to order a few things then I’ll start my very first delivery. 😁

Hopefully it picks up. Can't wait for roo to complete the waitlist too.
Uber Eats is slow nowadays. Only in certain locations will it be busy. Deliveroo and Just Eat most likely have the majority of the market share 👍
New to channel and cheers from America 🇺🇸 I had to put my scooter in the shop but hoping next weekend I'll be able to do my first few orders. 😀
AND BREAK TRAFFIC LAWS?
@@martinkent333 In America?? never!
@@carstarsarstenstesenn Traffic laws only work on folks with a conscience. Ethics. America profits by being slimy. The July 4th parade of families speeding and blowing stop signs, glorifies old George Washington who rolls over in his grave, on the nation's birthday. I recommend posting stop sign compliance rates at capital city schools to shock the stakeholders into compliance. Nothing transforms weasels into human beings, like a traffic safety "report card."
did my first few orders today, this helped understand the process a bit better. thanks bro
Thinking of starting up with Uber eats delivery. Your video was very helpful. Hopefully all goes well.
You're welcome Adam :)
I’m thinking about working for Uber eats now. I only have manual push bike 😩 good way of keeping fit to. Will definitely consider getting electric bike plus definitely doing cbt test to get around better. Usually work in health care but wanting a change.
Hey Yaska! You can definitely do it on a pushbike, maybe try it out on that first and then invest in an electric bike :) I LOVE this work, so it's definitely something I would recommend! You can also do it as a side hustle alongside your main job, that would work well :) Any questions let me know! I'm happy to help!
I would be walking up any steep hills 😩 I do have a question. How long in minutes would you get from time of food despatched to you to customers home address? Roughly I wouldn’t want food to go cool. All I need to buy is bike phone holder everything else is pretty much in place. X
@@yaskac2524 on a bike most of my deliveries are under 10mins away.

Most apps don't tell you when the order is ready you have to go inside to check!
I would invest in a chunky lock to lock your bike up.
I just got my background check yesterday and plan to do this on a rentable ebike in my spare until i can build up a handful of segway ninebot maxes maybe 4-6 of them to have enough battery power to do this as many hours as i want or can to phase out my two fast food jobs and get a autocad certification i want to do this green cause no gas usage good for enviroment and no insurance gas car payments so besides my paying for the scooters and gear i use all the green i earn is mine minus taxes i also plan to use my autocad skills to develop little parts and gadgets and designs to assist with this job any tips or tricks on the ground floor of doing this would be great
Did one order yesterday and one today had to make some small tweaks to set up but went well bird having a zone limit sort of gets in way but i plan tonget that segway so i can increase my zone i also made my own sorta go green delivery business card type thing with a anonymous fb to increase awareness cause think im the only scooter delivery in my area
Hi, friend. how long does the bike keep the battery charge? I work in Moscow on a scooter, greetings from Moscow
What bike do you use?
And what would you recommend? An electric bike or a basic bike
My bike was designed by my dad like 7 years ago and is still going strong. Literally super proud to ride it. My dad has an electric bike shop - you can email me my email is in the description and I can help you figure that out. 100% electric bike because it's faster and more enjoyable = more money ;)
Just about to start doing this with push bike to see what it's all about and maybe do as a second job for a little extra cash
AND BREAK TRAFFIC LAWS?
Even if I don’t get paid anything, I’m making money from UA-cam now so I’m still getting paid for riding around with my mate
I’m an Ubereats driver in Boston, making about $20-$26 an hour.
Ahh Ur in West park..jealous..I used to love taking my bike round here n down the canal on a hot day
I love West Park especially when it's quiet haha. When the sun is shining going down the canal is lovely too - I literally went down it yesterday haha
Does Uber take into account that you’re on a bike and they won’t send you on a 5 mile trek to deliver the order or can they do this? Thanks
@@samueldowling1866 Uber does take into account you are on a bike. They have sent me 3-5 miles before but it rarely happens that I don't worry about it 👍🏽

hey Gig, just wondering what equipment you suggest for your bike
I am going to join Uber eats with an e bike next month. How do you handle late night orders when the lobby is closed on a bike
Uncertain of everything to do. I’m thinking of my first delivery - a practice run - ordering for myself ….and delivering my own order - odd ? Well, see how it goes without getting it wrong and upsetting any customers
I don’t message the customer unless I absolutely need to
Yeah I've stopped doing this! I just focus on a positive interaction with the customer in person :)
hello. just wanna ask if drivers license required for using bicycle? and is it required to buy insurance also? what you recommend?
You don't need a driving license for a bicycle lol. You don't need insurance when delivering on a bicycle!
hi how u can apply and the most important how to get the bag
Um can you send me the link for the keyboard that you use to text the customer. Please
It's called SwiftKey you can easily Google it mate :)
7:00 you never ever ever press delivered before you have. it just causes so many untold problems.
This video will help ua-cam.com/video/EhNP78-vLtE/v-deo.html
It's not easy to get my back unfortunately...it's provided by the courier company Stuart but you need to work for them.
@@GigHustle The new update is a handy feature. Does it also tell you the distance from pickup to drop off?

Can you recommend what type of bicycle to get for deliveries? I'm totally new for this... thanks so much 😊

Is it possible to use a ebike with a 48v 1000w motor on these or are they not allowed?
You’re not allowed a motor that is more than 250w but that doesn’t stop people using them...I understand why people use them because it’s more powerful and faster but it also drains your battery very quickly so you need a big expensive battery to do the miles needed. Also they are much heavier and it’s basically like a motorbike. I want to still ride my bike like a bike so that I can enjoy cycling and get exercise but also have a nice level of assistance that is smooth and helps me out without me losing the sense of riding a bike
