  • If there is constant request ping, that means soon a huge surge coming. I don't accept every single trip, only waiting for the right one. You can work smart, avoid traffic, and drive less for more.

Hello, I'm Lyft's driver. I'll tell you. Lyft takes 70% and gives 30% to the driver. And when the car gets stuck in traffic, it charges passengers for traffic and gets all the money, but only about 0.45 cents to the driver. And when it arrives, it takes 5 minutes, which also charges passengers a lot of money and gives drivers 0.07 cents. Lyft and Uber need a thorough investigation

I'm going to mention this to Sergio from the Rideshare Guy channel. Logging off and on and also pressing "last ride" is key to keep the surge going. If ALL DRIVERS WOULD DO THIS, WE ALL WOULD MAKE BETTER MONEY. Like maybe everyone logging off every 10 mns for about 2 or 4 mns in a busy or semi busy zone. Surge would double or triple.

This sounds logical because the platform starts off with the lowest wage. But if everyone rejects it then they increase the price. It's a marketplace when there are more buyers the price goes down but when the price goes up the demand for drivers increases. But we as drivers want to buy low and sell high. In other words we want to go the lowest distance for the highest price. But Ober has a way of bundling two or three rides or two or three deliveries for one price and rejecting the last one becomes difficult when the first one is accepted because all bundled together but you would not have known that from the beginning of accepting the order not necessarily rides. Those brainiacs develop this algorithm to maximize profit for the company while we become their slaves.

Its not even that bad. I do this when doing ubereats. Gas prices are high and you want to make sure the trip is worth it. They have really bad orders. A year ago ubereats was good. I would make almost 100 dollars on 1/4 tank of gas and then working on my next 100. I have made $289 in one day working like 10 hours with breaks, and I cherry pick. but nowadays those large orders with short distances rarely come up. I remember one night I was getting back to back wendys orders for $40, two deliveries in under 30 minutes. I got 4 of those orders back to back. I made over 100 dollars in like 1 hour and a half. Bring back those days

I have no idea how this works, but I do usually add stops once I’m in the car. I often get “free” rides too because they don’t want to leave me without having a stop in the app, they will just decline other rides and end up turning the app off. I made my last Uber driver cry. She picked me up from the mall, drop me to the liquor store, then to the pharmacy, to the gas station, and then to my condo. I haven’t had a hug like that in so long. She was absolutely the sweetest and I’ll never forget her and I’m 100% sure she won’t forget me either. I ended up tipping her $40 in the end. The driver who took me to the mall gave me his number and told me if I ever needed anything I could just call. Generally I tip $20 in cash, but she deserved that after our experience together and just for who she is as a person. I only get $600 a month on disability, but I know y’all don’t get tipped enough. I always try my hardest to make people smile. Three rides ago my driver only spoke Spanish so I was looking up things to say to him. Sé un poco de español, so it was a great ride. I miss driving so much, but I have a shattered leg. Thankfully I absolutely adore Uber drivers. Still maintaining my 5 stars. ✨🧚🏻‍♀️

Sorry for the rant. I guess there is some advice on how to be a good passenger. Between the first two I mentioned…I had her nearly get in two accidents because she was on her phone the whole time trying to show me photos of her family. She also did a u-turn in the middle of a busy 50mph road. Luckily I am the type of person that says, “you go girl,” in response to these things. He broke two of the terms and conditions by promoting a competitor app and giving me his number to take me off of the app. I do have a personal shopper I stole from DoorDash. The other day I had someone with another passenger in the car. The only thing against the terms and conditions that people frequently break that annoys me is the last thing I mentioned. I’d never report anyone though. They could hold a gun to my head or start stroking and I still wouldn’t.

A lot of people don't understand the difference between slave labor and "independent contractor". We are not independent because if we reject all the orders we don't want because it does not pay, we will be off the platform. That was why the message came up after all those rejection asking "are you still online" The algorithm works by taking the amount of rejection dividing it into the number of acceptance. When the rejection rate is higher than the acceptance rate, you will be off the platform. There is no 2 ways around it. And if you call the Philippines and talk to those people who always say the same thing like a robot, there's nothing they can do about it.

It makes no sense to accept an order where the distance traveled in both directions cost more than the actual pay associated with it. But rejecting it is used against the driver. It happened to me all the time. The government needs to come in and regulate this and as far as overtime pay is concerned. Anything over 44 hours in Canada is considered overtime pay. But Wilbur does not give you the hours you work it only gives you the hours you've been "online" so anything I've been doing sitting a traffic light for 44 hours. I will be contacting the ministry of labor to see about my overtime pay now that I am no longer employed with this company. It's Slave labor in plain sight Hidden by high demand ride$

I have a chronic pain illness which doesn’t allow me to wake up early and I need hours after waking up to gain lucidity and shake away some of the pain and soreness. So I usually do 3pm or later and do anywhere between 5 and 8 hours straight. I’ve learned to calculate an hourly wage for a ride as it comes in and I think that has improved my earnings. I tend not to accept less than $20 unless it’s a very slow day or I’m in the middle of traffic that over $20/he is just not reasonable. If I average $25 an hour on weekdays I consider it a day. I’m thinking of trying to purposely drive east (with destination mode) to avoid most heavy traffic and open myself to possibility of longer distance trips. Not sure if it’s worth the gamble.
