Reply to this comment if you want a 24 hour challenge!
24 hours of GREEN rides in an electric car, because you get more money.
You can’t drive for more than 12 hours on Uber. It’s part of the terms and conditions add to start you have to wait six hours to start again and get rest so it’s not possible to 24 hours.
I want 24 hours challenge
I want 24 hours challenge
scam
Lyft and Uber has become one of the worst jobs ever , Uber is ripping off the drivers taking 65% to 70% from drivers income, riders telling me he got charged $110 for 15 miles ride, I got out of that $110 $35 that’s it, all rides in San Francisco $5 $4 what a joke has this company has become.
Your lucky here in New Jersey a 15 mile trip pays $15 dollars cause it's a dollar a mile which is less than half that $35 you make in San Francisco for a 15 mile trip.
You maximize your earnings by taking everything and setting destinations, so that you’re never empty. I have a tesla model 3 and charge, eat and use the restroom all in 30 min. I made $80k doing uber in 2022. You wake up early, stay consistent and set goals.
You made $80K after all your expenses were paid for?
After expenses he made 30k😅
Why do think driving lyft or Uber has expenses like no other job doesn’t
@@Trina78Because it absolutely does. You drive for Amazon or a Pizza restaurant you think they force you to pay for gas, maintenance, insurance, wear and tear? Hell no! Driving for Uber/Lyft you have pay for all of that. And the cost of insurance is nuts because you have to do additional rideshare insurance. If Uber/Lyft covered some or all of your expenses, yes this would be a solid job. But instead of calling drivers employees, they avoid all that by calling us freelance contract workers. So we get no benefits or anything. I believe only in California is health insurance provided, but that's only if you drive a certain amount of miles, and it's ALOT of miles! To think you have to make quotas just to get healthy insurance, crazy.
yeah dude dont know what he talking about i make mad money on uber with tesla
I drive Uber and Lyft in a Bolt EV and you do not want longer rides. You want a short $8 to $10 ride. The key is cherry picking and taking the ones close by, only a few miles away and short mileage distance after pickup. You can then make $30+ an hour, especially with good tips if doing it right. Multiple rides in an hour is key! Les mileage, in town, non-highway mileage is the best. EVs are very efficient in town and you will burn far less kWh. Also you pack your lunch and don't eat out! Thermos of coffee, etc. I only work morning and evening commute hours, Friday/ Saturday late afternoon to evening. Midday during week and weekends is slow!
What market are you in?
i rented bolt ev to drive for Uber and I agree that you only should accept the short trips because charging the ev with such small tank is whole another thing to worry about with the time and price it takes to charge
This is true, but it also depends on your market. I’m in Texas, and everything is spread out so this isn’t so easy.
whats the best year bolt to buy?
I know I made 82 In two hours and 48 minutes
Pro tip 1: confirm pax 2: pause for seatbelts 3: start trip 4: go go go. Asking homeboy where’s he’s going is opening you up for attitude because you can see where they are going. 💨
I make between 30-50 an hour when I work. Usually 8pm-12am. I don’t cherry pick Injust go from ride to ride. Unless is ridiculous. I think you make more that way. Because the algorithm is taking you . If you stop it by not accepting rides then you’re slowing your progress.
lol forget that.
I drive school bus. It's 60 miles a day and I 'work' 5.5 hours. ~1 - 1.5 hour of that is spent driving by myself either to the school in the afternoon (which I then sit for 10 minutes waiting for the kids) or driving from the school in the morning, or driving back to the garage from the last drop off in the afternoon- and then some of the time is spent for checking the bus over before/after driving it.
I know who I am picking up at every stop, every day.. a bunch of cute kiddos and most of them are awesome :D
Also..no wear and tear on my car other than the ~2 miles each way to/from work = 8 miles total.
I make $230/day..and have my summers off to enjoy (I get unemployment during this time, which is a lot less than my regular pay but it's all good- I have plenty saved up from during the school year).
So driving schoolbus is better than Uber. Good to remember.
The honesty is great.
Here in Louisville, KY. On regular weeks without big events, you'll probably make 18-24 an hour. The cost of living and gas here is significantly lower than where you work but you do make less due to less surges.
I've done this full time before and barely got by but I did get by during those times. Certainly higher paying no skill jobs for sure out there.
I like short rides cause with Lyft I get a offer to do 22 rides for $400 or 11 rides for $200. Every week is different
I love these videos. great to see them again
I would like to see not a 24 hour challenge because it’s unrealistic. But an 8 hour challenge where you accept every ride and see how much you would make then. To compare if it is better to wait for long rides or take every ride.
👌
You will never ever get a accurate number. Example 1. You drive 5miles. And a passenger tip you $10. You drive 30miles and a passenger doesnt tip you. See.
Very good review! Good and HONEST! Lots if these Uber drivers on UA-cam LIE.
It's not weird that the first ride cancelled, because you accepted it while still in your apartment and took forever likely to get to the location haha.
I never eat out. I make my thermos of coffee and meal prep and take my snacks/meals with me from home.
Excellent video bro. I have been a Uber/Lyft driver for 4 years. When I started driving I did very well. 100k a year. But right now in 2023, it really sucks. I don't recommend anyone to drive for these guys. I still drive but only part time. The flexibility is the only reason I still drive, I take care of a 97 year old mother-in-law so I need flexible work schedule in case I have to take her to doctor or hospital. Thanks for your informative video. Great job
Thanks man!
Crazy to think you could make $100K a year at one point. That must be near impossible now with how much they take now.
@@Comicbookyoutubersrock that's right
The drivers need to unite and demand a fare share of the money. Just my opinion
You don’t make $100k when Uber takes more than half. Your net is way less. Much less. This is why this is a scam.
Nobody can ever give a accurate number. Its different for everyday and everybody. Some days you can literally make $1,000 in one day. Or make $100 in one day. Thats just it.
Uber in DFW has stopped offering bonuses at all or if they do it’s around .50 a ride lol.
Learned a lot. Thanks for making this video.
Hi Edan (I hope I spelt that correctly) I enjoy your content!
Glad you could enjoy it!
Thanks for sharing !
in my region we do not have up front pricing. Our only way of making an educated guess is my distance to the PAX. In my case, I only accept trips that are less than 2 miles away from my location. Anything beyond that is wasting fuel. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and it snows a lot. I have a 2020 Jeep Compass Trail hawk edition. Gas currently is averaging 2.60 a gallon. I decline long trips because outside of Denver or COS, you will most likely deadhead home and thus dead miles earned.
If you don't pick up the ride, then Uber will screw you up with your exception rate. You don't get any rides when the exception rate goes very low. That's how they designed the algorithm!
Thank you so much for your informative video.
time is money long trips means double trip to get back. 1hr ride is 2hrs of your time i make same amount doing short trips within same time frame
Thanks for your hardwork for making this video. I am on a same boat. No worth it to drive for those rideshare company's...
Your channel is very good. I'm working in the Switzerland, uber is very interested. I recommande of working into this country.
1) My Prius gets 42mpg even with idling with the heat on, and it's a old one. In summer a new Prius averaged almost 48mpg as a taxi.
2) If you can't find food for less than $20 then pack food from home for $5. Even if it took 30mins to save $15, that's $30/hr.
Can you get a $40k Tesla to do 300,000miles of rideshare like a $25k Prius? Or a even 200,000miles of rideshare on a used $12k Prius?
UBER is horrible in Los Angeles I’ve been doing UBER 6 years & now it’s not possible to survive
I agree. I am in San Diego California and I use to make 100k a year driving for uber. I am better off working at McDonald's instead of uber after deducting driving cost and car.
Do it up!
Cant you do uber black with the tesla model y?
This looks over great i like the hype
Quick note: Food is a write off for taxes purposes while working. So calculating food is t the way to go. Keep track and deduct
Also mileage
Food is not
You can try and "write off" anything you want. But when you get audited you will pay back taxes, penalties and interest. Because normal meals while working are not tax deductible.
The standard mileage deduction for the day described would drastically reduce his taxes.
It’s a garbage job , it’s no good no more, used to be but now Uber is ripping off the drivers .
I drove for Uber in Dallas. I would typically drive between the hours of 5am to 11am and would clear over $400.
Hi... Pls is Uber lux or Black a lucrative Job in Texas cos I'm looking to move to Houston as an Uber Driver with a lexus es300h
I didn't drive Lux or Black.. just regular UBER. Just depends on the market. I didn't drive at night and just focused on the morning commute to the airport.. that is where I got my biggest fairs and many of them were business people so they tip because they're often there on the company credit card. @@dami_dre
I own and drive the same vehicle and been at this since 2016 (previous vehicles were hybrids). Um, you're going about this WAY WAY wrong.
1) Drive only when it's very busy.
2) Drive in DENSELY populated high income areas.
3) I reject at least 75% of all Uber and Lyft offers which brings me to the 4th and final suggestion.
4) Use Lyft and Uber because they compete for passengers and drivers. USE that completion to profit from their promotions.
5) I keep thinking of more problems with your methods so here's another. Driving on Uber X is wasting your vehicle. Gotta use Comfort, Electric Comfort, Premier and Premier Hourly. Lyft has XL and Lux. Those categories pay FAR better than Uber X and Lyft standard.
6) I make consistently $1500/week no matter what. From what I see you would have a lot of difficulty making a grand. And if you do you'll wear yourself out completely.
shouldnt this car qualify for black?
it has to be all BLACK interior and exterior @@pedrohizzle2835
i agree he is doing this all wrong, its clearly, he doesn't do this full time, so his figures are so inaccurate, i drive consently, all online miles are deductible, drive to populated areas, and definitely pay attention to the bonuses. agree only drive during the 'busy' times, i drive 6 hours a day and a make over $1400 /week
@@kevinmiller4590 where? What bonuses? $1400 a week? 6 hours a day? 7 days a week?
35 an hour x 40 hours a week is 1400,@@pedrohizzle2835
To this equation you did not add miles added to your car and it depreciated. Where do you negate it? Taxes?
My VW Passat TDI is so green it makes all the so-called "EV" cars out there jealous, as I average 45mpg and here in Oregon I'm paying about $4.51 a gallon of Fuel Oil (aka: Diesel). But even then I have to drive 53 miles just to >get< to a place where I can earn money, that would be Salem, Oregon... so just getting there and back costs me 2.4 gallons, or $10.87.
How can I refuse trips and still keep my ratings up? In order to maintain Pro-Diamond Level, I have to have my acceptance rating above 85%, and currently I'm at 95% and I have no idea how it's that low... how do you refuse a ride and keep that acceptance rate above 85%???
A. You constantly turn app on and off and only work in dense areas costing you lots in commute time
B. You escape the matrix and make your money
It s a dead end job. You try to get to the diamond / pro level to prove with whom😂😂😂. You make your family and friends proud? The only one loves you is the Uber company
Hello my friend please tell me if uber Tesla Y gives you a long ride
I'm having the same problem with them. Crap pay to go long distances. I needed this work and I've declined 70% of them. Pretty lame. Make a dollar or better per mile with doordash since I was a vip driver. I'm lucky if I get 25 cents with Uber eats.
uber eats is trash, i cancel them unlsess it is worth it..
24 hours would show the best time of day to work.
$3:75 for a coffee? I’d have brought a thermos flask from home! How can drivers make a living if rideshare companies offer less than $1 per mile? The food is your choice, you could brown bag. However these rates cannot cover Gas, maintenance, vehicle depreciation, tires or cleaning!
What if you get a speeding ticket, flat tire, or in a fender bender you are out like a day to a weeks wage. Seems pointless.
The amount earned will definitely cover his car expenses but leave a rather low profit. The only thing that makes a day like this financially viable is that he could write off 67¢/mile and his total car costs are probably about 40¢/mile. So his after tax take home should be $90-100 for entirely flexible hours. But that's not great.
Bet lets do that challenge 👌
YES! 24 hours driving :)
I'd like to see a longer one like 24hr, but I think it would be better to do either uber eats or postmates (food) rather than driving people.
No because there is a lot time wasted between you getting out of the car to pick up the food or delivering it. Also you may wait 15 minutes or longer for the food after getting it. I've made $330 in day driving people because it's more fast paste than delivery. I've never made $300 with delivery
Hi ,
Please reply me
I have got 3 points of improper turn on the license can I be able to signup for Uber driver or they will reject me?
I drive for Uber/Lyft and we are literally making minimum wage at best! Between vehicle depreciation, and waiting for decent rides it’s horrible!
what state do you live in?
Honesty in my city I make about $25 to $30 an hour tips are always great my city has very generous people
24hour challenge could get you good video. but stay safe you never know about people.
where do u drive?
what about prop 22 earnings
You gonna have food either you drive or you don’t and the gas is super expensive in California compare to other states
Don’t do this. I used my Tesla and now my car has a lot of miles on it for nothing.
Wow Uber is so greedy! It takes 80% from drivers, for a $55/30 min ride, driver gets only $9!!! Damn it is a rip off 😅
I do uber suburbs long trips only, $25 per ride and up, and still not making much, uber is taking between 40 to 50% of your income. Plus the trips are way less now then last year alone. Uber is not what it used to be.
Also I drove 12 hours and plus hours don’t count while you stay still so I’m really 14 hours out in the field
I’ve been desilutioned with Uber. The only thing I see good is you get paid the same day. I find long rides pay okay if you’re only taking into account hourly rate. But the miles they want you to drive makes the long trips not worth it. Once Uber took out the ,55 cent gas incentive it has gone downhill. I’ve begun to decline a lot more rides. 2-5$ rides are not worth it. Uber share is a definite no. Means the rider is broke or cheap and won’t tip.
very impressive video
Really. I like
Nice video. Why did you calculate $42 for gas when you drove Tesla and spent $16 to charge it? The only reason I watched this video was to see how much you can make with Tesla. It's about $3 more per hour considering $16 charge not $42 gas.Even more if you don't calculate food that you would have to eat anyway even if you stayed home and watched TV all day. In this economy $22 net driving for uber as a newbie is not so bad even if you kill Tesla after 7 years driving it considering how much it saves you on fuel and maintenance unless someone breaks your windows or destroys your battery which is crazy expensive to repair. If you drive 2019 Tesla 3 (worth about $30K) 5 days a week (1000 miles/wk) that would save you on gas almost $400 a month which would be Teslas monthly payment Thats almost $5000 a year minus tires replacements as the main cost. Also premier and lux (lyft) rides with Tesla bring more money. Not sure it you had any.. Am I wrong here?
which city are you driving brother?
No 2 days are the same... driving at different times of the day is also a factor... don't expect to get much in 8 hours if you drive 9am to 5pm.....people just wake up and do unrealistic and unpractical experiment... I do uber eats and I drive from 10pm to 2am part time and I make an average 250£ a week for 6 days work.... pick your times and days... a friend does only 4 days uber Friday to monday and makes at least £900 each week...... its all about planning
Cool man
How much is insurance for uber driving?
I dont understand 160 or 208? Before or after uber comission
In latvia i think i do better
Basically i coukd earn 2.5-3x of minimum salary after deducting all expenses
In bolt in latvia i earned 3000 eur around 3300usd month we have minimum salary 450 eur on hand
And i rented car so its clear money on hand
In all honesty i worked 70-72h week
If i had my car i woukd earn even more i estimate around 3700eur minus maintanance depreciation for toyota prius around 300 eur month
If i work only saturday friday nights per hour its around 30% more
I never wait for customers
Never i all time drive all time busy
We have different system we need accept every single ride or our driver score drop
If it drop you get more shit rides
Often many people drive cars for 3000usd very cheap cars not tesla for 50000
Calculate wear and tear especially depreciation with this kind milleage its a lot for new car insurance taxes
How much is clear money on hand???
How much is minimum wage?
This was 4 months ago. Good luck making that every day.
Do 8 hrs at nights the pay is better
You can deduct food as an expense? There minimum hours you have to work to expense that on ones taxes?
No, in general you can't deduct normal lunches or snacks. There are exceptions for "out of town" trips and other situations.
How do you see what the rides pay? I’ve done 50+ rides for Uber and I never see any details about the trip (destination) until the rider is in my car. And I know nothing of the payment details until the ride is complete and they are out of the car for 2-3 minutes. Then the app tells me how much I get.
I’ve been locked into trips to Chicago Ohare (145 miles) like this. And that’s 145 miles back home with ZERO pay.
Depends on your market. I would cancel a ride for over 2 hours with no trip back, no way in hell.
❤
24 cents per kilo watt? how? here in NY/NJ it's 45 cents lol
In quebec it's 10 cents canadian
Wow 😲 you live in California CA
Where is this
Which city state?
No, please don’t do a 24h challenge. You’d be putting everyone around you in danger.
Please 24 hours challenge
It's a scam, here in Miami they take about 55% of the total amount of what the pax pays and they have the balls to claim that they only take 17% Lol!. I make less now than 8 years ago. The reasons why I still do it is because I do almost all my mechanical work myself, and most importantly the freedom to wake up and go to work when I want to. I'm still paying for my last two repairs of $1,500 still after a year. Not to mention all the other repairs in the last 5 years when things started to fail.
The first ride got cancelled because you took too long to get going for the pickup!
But where is that whis State?
Know your market i drive only shorts rides and know long rides make no money in my market.
Yes 24 Hours
Wait time counts buddy..
Your cancellation and acceptance rate goes down like crazy bro.
24 hours challenge is easy.
Blue the faces out 😊
Hahaha, this guy is one of the EV fan. He is using California gas price to compare with electric price somewhere else. Honestly, different but not that much
Bro in ethiopia we mach 7$adye
24 hours challenge
What Prius are you driving at 30 mpg? My 2011 gets 49 mpg.
Yes yes do it 24 hr noow
Are you for real doing UberX with a Tesla ? 😂😂 ur crazy
I feel so sorry for those white seats ... covered them .. i do rides that pay me 1 dolar x mile only
wait?? you mean before now you didn't tip uber drivers everytime???
It would be interesting to see you do it for 24 hours.
24 please but be careful please
Do 24 hours!!
Well it took you 1/2 hour to start the ride. Hate drivers like that 😅
Agree! Uber drivers are poorly compensated.
24 hours challenge please
Corrupt Uber and Lyft, turn off the apps ✊🏼
omggg white seats doing uber 2 days will be dirty
You should do a challenge where you max out both Uber and Lyft apps to the max 12 hour limit, accept every ride and compare which one made more
don't need to do a challenge, Uber hands down, i don't even do Lyft anymore, only Uber, deny most of Uber Eats also unless its a good one
@@kevinmiller4590 I wasn’t asking you
