10 dollar pliers every 3 years,we 40 the heck out of them hasn't failed me in40 years of surf casting. It's like keeping up with the Jones's on your block.
Nice video I've been looking at those pliers for a while now and I always found an excuse not to buy them but thanks to you I have no more excuses Tight lines to all!!!
I got a pair of kastking pliers on Amazon for 17 bucks. The have tungsten cutters on the side. The pliers are stainless steel with a titanium coating. Had them 2 years already. Just a quick rinse with freshwater after I'm done and no rust. Expensive pliers are not gonna take a hook out any better.
Thanks for the input. I will say I have been there and done that. Those things lasted me like two seconds. But to each his own and everyone uses products in different conditions.
Whats up Bill I had one of the craziest nights of my life at shinnicock inlet we had 50 + fish no keepers because they where all over slot giants for 40 mins straight it was insane man. I'm lookimg to come to montalk I have a wide open schedule I'm wondering if y I u think I should get put there asap or wait for the new moon? Also thanks for all the knowledge you have helped my surf fishing skills tremendously I'm looking to book a trophy trip with you soon...
Jamie makes some awesome stuff, but my leather Sheaths last for many many years. I think the last one I had was about 20 years old and the VS is of higher quality.

I’ve been on the fence about buying them, now I will. Thx Bill!
looking great buddy,
Way to go Bill always interesting 🎣
Great review Bill. Just me, but I'd definitely look into a better lanyard for those things. Steve Cantalupo makes some great ones.
No doubt they are fabulous pliers but I have a real hard time justifying the price ....
But if I had a bunch of gift cards I’d pull the trigger 😆
They should come with an unconditional lifetime warranty. Other than that they are a great fishing tool.
They used to do that when they first came out. My 300 and 250 still have the lifetime.

Flatlander's sheath will probably last longer than the leather one.

Is it vawn staal or van staal?
Bro, are we not gonna discuss the new hat?
It's either three tanks of gas or pliers

You get what you pay for.
If you take the hook out of a fish with 300 dollar pliers or 5 dollar pliers, what's the difference??
