I have a Gravat 2, bought in China for around US$500. Ive had the trainer for 3 months now and didnt even realise there was an external strain gauge hidden back there - thanks for the 'power up' tip Shane :):) So far Ive been happy with the unit - good value for money spent.
Thanks for review the trainer I have been using for past year. Despite the few negatives highlighted, the positives really shines through and has been reliable since Day 1 for me.

this unit brings zwift doping to another level. could easily put some extra strain on it with some tape i guess, or even attach a string to it to use it occasionally for some huge sprint watts

Excellent review as always Shane !!! I saw this trainer on Ali express and some events on Malasya I think and was eager to know your opinion on it , looks like the favorite trainer for the Cofidis guys if you know what I mean 😄
How about doing a video on how a the spin down calibration works? I've found very little information about the internals/process it uses. Some questions to answer: Why do you have to get it up to a set speed? Why does it have to be warmed up?
I tend to be a 'pour it out unboxer' due to excitement. Very quiet obviously a proper consideration there. I need 142x12 so the parts shoukd be included in 2019 or at least as a cheap option at pos. I like the quietness thats a plus but for me to buy this trainer it would need to be $200 lower with no cadence.
Wiring strain gauge Magene seems to have same effect what 1st gen Bkool Smart Pro did without wiring/tuning. Sometimes it work normally and sometimes it was very generous about power. It was very unpredictable, sometimes it make you feel like world tour cyclist and next time it put my feet back on the ground. Don't know how well they work these days.
Hey shane... Great video. I have a quick question which is unrelated to the trainer, itself, but still specific to the video. Where do you get that white plastic cassette holder I see you using each time you put on the cassette? It would sure make life easier. Thanks again for your great work on UA-cam :)
I've just bought 3 Shimano road cassettes (105 and Ultegra) and unfortunately I didn't get that cool plastic jig (just the regular slick on) - maybe becsuse I got the 10 speeds cassettes? Searching on the net didn't get success.
Yes, Yesterday I've checked it with the local Shimano distributor and it comes only with new manufactured Cassettes (10 speeds are old stock). They offered me to come and get it for free as they installing cassettes and throwing it.
Hi Shane, I'm in the market for a new direct drive trainer. The one thing that frustrates me with my Elite Rampa is the delay in resistance changes, I overtake guys at the start of ascents it really annoys me. I was very interested in your thoughts on the Gravat2 until you mentioned the same problem of there being the same delay. Which direct drive trainer would you say has the least delay? I live in Hong Kong and the Gravat2 is available here for AU$860ish BTW

Thinking about trying one of these but cant find the android app for it. Can you provide a link or point me to where I can find it? Any chance of reviewing the Magene T300?
GRAVAT 2 has several issues with TrainerRoad. First TrainerRoad app (ios , Android) can not pair with GRAVAT 2 in Bluetooth. Using ant+ dongle instead of using Bluetooth should works well? Not really! Proceed any TrainerRoad over/under workouts in ERG mode, you will experience abnormal “higher resistance” (not lag) although the resistance should drop after “over” threshold power period. The abnormal higher resistance will sustain about one minute. Be aware these issues of GRAVAT 2 if you are TrainerRoad user.
