This week, Newslaundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri, Raman Kirpal, and Anand Vardhan are joined by political analyst Suhas Palshikar, tech expert Madhav Deshpande, and professor Shruti Kapila.
On the robustness of the election voting machines, Suhas Palshikar says EVMs have “definitely lost the credibility that they initially had”. He cites Lokniti-CSDS data. Madhav says “major technological change” in 2013, with the introduction of VVPAT has made EVMs a “different beast”.
The panel then discusses the BJP’s poll promises. Shruti says the BJP manifesto is “very weird” and that “it wants to lower the temperature on Hindutva”. Anand calls it the manifesto of a party that is “very sure of a renewed mandate”, unlike the Congress manifesto, which is trying to “tick too many boxes”.

I think this loss of trust portrays deeper trust issues that people have in the country itself.
Dear citizens just keep in mind that even after the SC gives the judgment in favour of counting the 100% VVPAT slips after voting has been done, it's of no use because along with counting the 100% of slips it is necessary to make sure that VVPAT slip is cutting and falling into the box during every vote, which is not possible with the ECI's current arrangements of black glass and short duration of light.
Why SC reserved its judgment at the critical time when elections are going on across the country.
Do hope these experts speak to SC on the possibilities of manipulation.

Good question. I think that should be addressed because people think that you need to hack all which will be a disaster if exposed. You just need to make sure that limited ones are hacked to tilt in one direction. But if there is a wave it can go either direction because then minor hacking does not matter.

very easy to build a biometric client with block chain voting, they don't want a perfect system. You can vote and also see your vote, it's perfect, a smart contract can be made to do this.

The ECI fumbled in court over it's security mechanism claims. The EC takes no action to enforce MCC against bjp violations but is quick to remind congress of it's violations and consequences. The entire EC is partial. The BEL and ECIL panels, the company which makes EVMs have BJP guys as board members. What more proof do we need. Forget EVM tampering, BJP does or doesn't do it does not matter that much. The entire ECI has been filled with RSS bureaucracy like Mr Rajeev Kumar.
