Your commentary is second to none , love it !
That's one of my favorite reasons for watching him.
gotta love a car cleaning guru video
Didn't expect that beading at the end! Fantastic job 👏
I've used 303 on my f-Type top...you get that beading about exactly once.....it does not last.
@@danparker6341 in that case, I guess the water just takes the coating off 😂
The weather forecast skit made me laugh 😂 a tip I got from the forums was to do the second wash using a steriliser spray as well as APC to kill any nasty spores left over from mould
You have got to be one of the most well spoken and fluent in your vocabulary people on YT, but still without being coxcomb or too technical about it all.
That rag top turned out great. I've bookmarked this video for next spring, as the snow is on its way here soon in Canada. Cheers Joe.
I enjoyed that way more than I ought to have.
Can't wait for the engine bay clean. It's my personal favorite to do and watch.
303 is the absolute best for convertible top protecting .
This Beatle is so Beautiful. I really like this Gen Beatle Convertible. Am I the only one who thinks your CR-Z would look better with no Spoiler?? Another Great Job!!
Bilt Hamber HD, my go to for pretty much everything, car, cooker & gets the shower room clean, Top product 👌
You could probably make a video on the patented 'wrap and tap' dog hair removal method and I'd still be enthralled. You are basically the reason I've been obsessed with detailing for over 5 years now.
I vacuum our soft top, using the brush attachment, before any water or suds touch it. Makes a surprising, and noticable difference.
Great video Joe, really enjoyed that. That water activity on the hood afterwards was so satisfying. Looking forward to the next one, CRZ!
That Beetle is beautiful, and this is the first time I have ever seen VW put
a name on that car. It's nice hearing your voice again, I have always enjoyed
your sense of humor and way with words. Take care.
Inspired by this I deep cleaned my Audi A4 hood. It looks fantastic. Many thanks 🙏
Message from Australia. You are an absolute legend. Love your content
Looks mint in the end! Great job.

Good god mate, I think you were given bad luck charm with that amount of rain pissin everywhere 😂🌧As always, love your videos man, keep up them crisp cinematography, pro level details, and keep swearin at mother nature! 😎🌎🔥
I’ll never stop verbally abusing Mother Nature, that’s for sure!
Fantastic video showing a lot of hard work and a great result at the end. I used the Autoglym Cabriolet Cleaning and Protection kit on a convertible Mercedes earlier this year. It certainly did a good job.
This Beetle came out brand new. Lovely work on that cabrio top 😎👍
Quality content as ever, even when the weather doesn’t want to play nice 👍
I thought it was only me that really hates how poor our weather forcasting is! I entirely agree. No other business can be that innacurate and still exist! If we used the super computers we waste on weather predicting for something more useful we could have achieved so much by now!
Yup, bane of my life having to rely on Met Office forecasts!
That goes for Meteorologists all over the world. They get paid to make a guess, wrong 75% of the time and still get to keep their jobs. That is amazing, no matter where you live.
@@eppyz We've started using the Scandinavian mountain weather forecast in recent years - they do pretty well, to be fair, got a good hit rate when we're working up north! 😃
Great to see another fantastic video. I know you've been a little miffed at the process & algorithm, However your videos are in a class above most. Timeless references on this platform i think 😎 👍🏻
Nice one. Did mine at the weekend. I moved away from 303. Now use Fabsil which last aaaages!
I've said it before but I love your tattoos, well done
Incredibly satisfying to watch all of that dirt emulsify. Beautiful job and the beauty shots were amazing. The first top I washed, I remember how long it took to get out all of the suds. Yes, my arms were tired, haha!
Nice vid guru
Yay a new Guru upload happy days 👍 I wish the hose pipe ban would be lifted my car has never been so filthy 🙁🙁
Great video.
Absolutely love Surfex HD. Its a proper detailing cheat code!
For fabric sealing though, I must admit I prefer Fabsil Gold personally.
You're spot on about the Circus with is the MetOffice. I work as an Ecologist, and have to a lot of my work in good weather. I've had to cancel jobs where it was
That water beading is insane! So satisfying to watch
Attention to detail as always, gets a great result
Nice work Joe.
Wow!! Would you consider flying to Brooklyn, NY to clean my convertible top? 😂. This process is EXACTLY what I need to do to my car’s top. Thank you for the extreme detailed step-by-step process and product recommendation. Well done, sir…..very well done.
I’m not sure if American greenery is more stubborn that British 🤔
Well done Joe - love the candor and humour buddy. Your so very thorough getting the ‘bits and bobs’ as you call them …and all the way into the seams and water channels. Must be tough over there in the UK; not so over here in San Francisco. Your techniques will come into good use nonetheless as I clean my Porsche 986 top - thank you sir! Phil
What an awesome channel you've created! The content is always top notch and your commentary is hilarious yet the visuals are relaxing.I myself along with many others take a lot of tips from your videos to use on mine and partners car.Great work and never stop.👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one!
Great job once again, fantastic.
Add some silicone grease on those gaskets when done. It will keep them pliable for a great deal.
Excellent video. Very satisfying to watch. I wondered if the blower put out warm air guessing not giving the hairdryer was used later
Excellent job . Good stuff the 303 👍
Love your work
Another lovely job.
Great vid 👌
Loved it nearly hitting the 20 minute mark too 🤙
Boom!
As always a great video to watch and an amazing turnaround, car looks much younger now just a shame about the damaged bumper.
I usually vacuum the soft-top as the first step of cleaning to remove all loose debris.
Taken note of the products recommended and I'll definitely use a brush to apply the protector in future - over spray is a nightmare!!
Some will complain about using jet was on a canvas roof but really it fine in you keep a good distance have a wide fan setting on the spray I have done several soft tops this was all where fine
Car looks superb shine an roof is popin
Awesome video- love the brush technique (I’ve used a microfibre applicator and spray on myself, but your way is a lot cleaner). Cheers!
Now a very fetching bug. So satisfying even watching and a terrific narration to boot. Does the wash plus shampoo need to be used with particular care or special consideration?
Nice Job!
Top job, well covered..
I love the look of this VW......they did an excellent job.
Especially with the 2.5L 5 Cylinder and the 6 Speed Automatic.
I find the Auto Finesse kit is very good and I spray it on as the surrounding area is very easy to clean. I do need to do the wife’s car, but I’m stuck with a hosepipe ban!!!
Ah.
A Classic CCG video 🤟🥂
Nice job fella looks like brand new again 👌 I gotta do this to my streetka roof it looks just like that so reckon I’m gonna need to spunk a bottle on it to 🤣 cheers dude nice job 👍
Great video mate, Yorkshire water still got us on a hose pipe ban so my car is getting dirtier than a bride on her hen-do
Well, I couldn't have neglected mine like that, glad this exists for contrast! ;)
Your car was green so no need to let the roof turn!
One method I employ more these days on roof cleans is gently using a wet vac to help extract the last of the water, possible contamination and speed up the drying process before sealing etc.
Yeh if it’s sturdy enough good call. Would be nice to have a wet vac with a low suction setting for this kind of thing.
I feel your pain about the weather/forecast Joe… 😅 I’ve done a car recently, two full days on the exterior and one full day on the interior, cca. 45 minutes before handover during the finishing touches/dressing, it started lightly raining for about 30-ish minutes… I thought I’m going to get a stroke and a heart attack together, but finally it stopped and I managed to finish the car on time… 😂
Makes me think of the Truman show when it happens. I deffo reckon there’s a man in the moon turning it on and off to take the piss.
knowing myself I would've been so paranoid to use degreaser on material, thankfully I've got your channel to refer to for any help, aswell as me noticing a tiny bit of unattended dirt underneath the left rear reflector at 17:08, just had to point it out sorry, still excellent work though😌👏
Nice job on the top less bug Joe. I've never seen surfex used neat before, I didn't even know it could be used neat, you gotta love some guru education.
Couldn’t afford to have to go back and clean again so all guns blazing!
don't skip ads guys! (Just to show little support for this channel :) )
Great video.👍😎 just out of interest what dilution rate did you use the Surfex hd on the fabric? Thanks.
Bleedin' Good Job Gúvv
Nice.
Meguiars wash plus is a cracking product - best decon shampoo going in my opinion.
Great vid and glad I'm not the only one who curses the Met Office on a regular basis 😆👍
They had rainfall at 0% chance yesterday like we live in the desert or something lol.
@@CarCleaningGuru haha!! We have a hosepipe ban in Cornwall (for 6 months or more now), I'd bought a shed load of detailing products, a DA polisher and some Karcher upgrades, none of which I can use even if the poxy weather cheers up!!
I was always told never to pressure wash a convertible roof as it could damage it. Is there a specific pressure washer tool your using to enable you to use one? Or is it an old wives tale? Great content as always
Do you also clean the rain channels? Maybe best before lots of water is applied!
Halo
I watched the video by chance with the long search, and I liked your way of talking, washing, and the wonderful useful explanation. If there are addresses for cleaning materials for cleaning and polishing the car’s reveal, I mean revealing the Beetle.
Thank you and have a good and happy day
Abdullah from the State of Kuwait
Great video and fantastic advice. Thank you for this .
Great thumbnail fwiw
Needs some misleading red arrows and “OMG” text according to YT 🤔
Great video mate, can’t wait to do my roof again ha ha!! Did you dilute the Surfex HD at all or just use it neat out of the bottle?? 🤔
Neat but I did pre rinse first so that would obvs knock it back a bit.
Nice tape hand!
When working with 303 Fabric Guard in cooler conditions I typically have the car running with the heater on full whack to try and warm the soft top up a little :). Obviously not always possible if working on a car without keys / approval to start the car.
nice video, might have been looking a bit more at the cr-z than the beetle tough...
Haha have to try and cater for everyone!
Using a hoover on the roof, certainly takes it up a notch from using a leaf blower.
@car cleaning guru what dilution do you use for Surfex-HD?
Great video! What kicks are you wearing?
NMD R1 V2 love them 😎
That roof looked better than new.
I'm looking at a Mazda Miata next year, either a convertible (which I want), or a hard top. Problem with the convertible, we have crazy people here in California that would probably knife the car out of spite. Also, the sap from the trees and sun would eventually get to it. Or I can get the hard top, but worry at one point that the hard top would eventually malfunction.
Great informative video, thank you. Did you use the Surfex neat or diluted at all ? Thanks.
Yes neat as the pre-rinse will have served to dilute it down a bit.
@@CarCleaningGuru Many thanks for that 👍
Did you dilute the Surfex HD?
How much pressure should you use 500 PSI?
Can you make a video on how to polish and coat outside?
Not without a garage at this time of year unfortunately! I did do a video exterior polishing and coating my 370Z a while back though…
@@CarCleaningGuru feel that pain in the netherlands as well, i’ve been meaning to get to it with my new car but no garage unfortunately… maybe i’ll go to a public parking garage in the middle of nowhere😂 probably cheaper for short term than a private one
Hi, followed this video and wanted to know what percentage dilution on surfex hd. I got a green roof and used at 10% but it doesn’t draw any gunk out. Thanks
Try 50/50 but be prepared for a mega rinse as the product will just keep coming!
Quick question, did you use the Surfex HD neat...... or diluted down?
Neat, couldn’t afford to have to go back and re-clean, although the pre-rinse will have diluted it down a tad.
Can't get my Jaguar rinsed. Don't know what was used on it. I just purchased it. Spray with water and slightest agitation gets foam. I've tried a few times. And it's been outside in several storms. Just won't stop foaming. Needs protected. But figure it needs to be rinsed first. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Nothing I can think of really apart from applying a new cleaner to maybe break the old one up but that might just make things worse 🤷♂️
What percentage BH Surfex HD did use please Joe? 👍🏼
‘Neat’ straight from the bottle but I did obviously rinse first which will have knocked the potency down a bit.
@@CarCleaningGuru I’ve always found HD quite potent and the most I’ve used it at is 50/50 (HD/Water). 👍🏼
hello brother
I have a Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 2014
Examination type Black tarpaulin, and with washing and time, some of the linoleum material was gone, and the examination became stained. It was not cleaned with washing, whether with water or soap. I asked and wrote to many modern car wash places. Nobody knows. Ordinary washing, and there are no special materials for the canvas of the cars, or the linoleum for the cars, knowing that the texture of the car is of the excellent, strong type, and it is not considered a fabric. I do not know the type of strong fabric
Dear, do you have an idea for this place?
Thank you
Greetings: Abdullah from the State of Kuwait
What dilution did you use thw surfex hd at please ?
Straight 👀
Is that a bull terrier tattoo. I have 2
Yeh I’m on my second and he’s 11 now so know what a what a pain in the arse they can be lol.
@@CarCleaningGuru awww brilliant I have 2 Zeus and Maggie both 15 months old. They are crazy 🤪
Wouldn't an awning be worth investing in?
If I had a van and was out all day everyday yes but I’m out a couple of times a week in a small car so not really.
With all that water on the fabric...surely it will start to leak through and make a mess of the inner lining?
A little bit perhaps but that’s the price you pay for neglecting it for so long.
@@CarCleaningGuru I have a Mercedes cabrio which needs the hood doing...would get you to do it but I think I am 200 miles away. I will have a bash myself and try and find the products you use.
It is not recommended to use a pressure washer on a fabric car roof or soft top. High-pressure water can damage the fabric, especially if it is already weakened or has small tears or holes
I use a hose with NO nozzle at all.
Hose is fine for well kept tops but you’re going to struggle to get a seriously neglected one properly clean without a pressure washer, just don’t get too close.
Arnt we in a hose pipe ban ?
Not here but I wouldn’t obey one in a country where it pisses down every other day regardless.
Yeah I like getting high as fock and zoneing out detailing cars
You wana do mine mate?
Green flaps
Indeed.
why don't you put a car cover gazebo while washing the car?
Wouldn’t fit in the car, no space to store it at home, decent one a two man job to safely erect, when there’s rain there’s usually wind which means it needs properly securing down, rain still blows in from the side & splashes off the top, not always enough space on drive, would get in the way of camera and make shots dark and the list goes on!
