There were two main focuses in this Day In The Bay, first was how to safely clean and protect a convertible roof and the second was how to get a fantastic finish on black paint using out Ultimate Paint Care Kit all by hand.

Using a nilfisk my self that lance pressure had been adjust to its lowest setting about the same as a garden hose with a fan sprayer. Anymore pressure and its game over for the soft top. Nice upload helped me complete a z4 today.

How often should you use the weatherproofer?
Does the compound or polish contain any fillers or silicone that may temporarily swell the paint and mask small scratches. Also, will it stain black plastic trim if it gets on it? Need to tape off trim?
Is the convertible water proofer spray available in the US or only UK? Havent seen it online or in stores.

I would not advise jet washing any rag top.
It will tear the stitching out.
You need a safe distance.

It's all about pressure and distance, if u can adjust the pressure then take it down, if not then make sure its at a reasonable distance.
Why do you use cold water pressure washers instead of commercial hot machines just wondered
I did all of this but the waterproofer has left stains on the roof. Any tips on to correct?
To use a high pressure jet spray on a fabric convertible top is a definite NO-NO !!! Only use a soft bristle brush for low pressure cleaning! Only preservatives should penetrate the fabric... any cleaner should only LIGHTLY be rubbed on the surface! Once the fabric is completely dry the final step is the application of a Sealer to prevent ANY penetration of water into the fabric. The result is that water will bead off, just like water off a duck’s back!

Thirty-five seconds into the video, and it shows him rinsing off the soft-top convertible with a power washer. I've read numerous articles and watched numerous videos where the authors and content creators argue not to use pressure washers on your soft-top convertibles. I recently bought a soft-top convertible Nissan 370z, so I'm researching how to clean the soft-top. So in your professional opinion, is it okay to use a pressure washer on a soft-top convertible?

Exactly, 90% of the video was about detailing the paint of the car. Would have been mandatory to show the soft top protector in action before getting to clay bar and wax. At this point I'm still hesitant to try it over the AutoGlym set, especially since the protector is in an aerosol can, meaning that most of the can is gas and not the protector liquid and since the Mequiars kit doesn't probably come with a mit/towel or what ever safe enough to scrape the top when using the cleaning solution.
I don't like the beetles. But whit this style I love this beetle. Great style

Convertible Cleaner and Weatherproofer is safe on all canvas, cloth, mohair and vinyl tops.
The final sealer spray doesn't work !!. 2 cans I used on a top! Yes it beads with a little water on the first day. but two months later it can't handle constant rain . After a while in the rain it soaks right through!!!.
Yeah agree its rubbish, Fabsil gold is awesome stuff and cheapnlike 15 £ a litre ! Only used quarter a bottle for 2 coats 😊 beads awesome last few months or longer if garaged of coarse 😅
Is it safe to use snow foam on a soft top? A friend asked me to clean his convertible the other day but I weren’t sure what I can and can’t use on the roof
Chris T yes you can but it won’t be that effective
I thought you'd spray the roof first before polishing the paint work so the roof spray doesn't mess up your shiny paint work.
It's nice and easy to just wipe off any over spray with a microfibre towel.
Why did you use a jet wash on a convertible roof?
hey, so I have this product on my convertible roof and I can't get rid of the product fully. it's because I only have a battery powered pressure washer and my gosh, I'm super scared it's going to make the roof worse once it's dried up. I've got the most I can out. please tell me this won't cause much damage if some of the product remains once dried.

Good video, but is an extractor not better for the convertible roof than the pressure washer ...
um.......I like your products and use them on my Karoq, but to use a pressure washer on a VW rag top is a bit imperceptive. Unless the grand plan is to.........shorten its life?
NEVER clean in circles. It'll show tiny hairline scratches. Clean up and down or side to side. I use Rainx polish and cleaner diluted in a bucket.. Looks just as nice in half the time.
You shouldnt be using a pressure washer on convertible top. Also grit guard is bs, just pressure wash tge mitt with hose after every panel
