The cost of transportation after the sale has NOTHING to do with the price of the vehicle. I don't care if it costs you 10K to get the vehicle gone, do you want it or not?
That is terribly flawed logic. There is an inherent value in how easy an item can be delivered or transported. If your item costs a fortune to move, that is a factor in the items value.
The OP is right. As a buyer and seller of many vintage and classic cars, I have some knowledge. So let’s put his (and my) theory to the test, eh? I live in a southern state, and you live in a northern state. You have a car for sale for 20K that I’m interested in. You started at $25K, and have dropped to $20K for cash, and that’s your bottom dollar. You have a couple people knocking on your door at $20K, so it’s bound to sell at that price sooner or later. Meanwhile, I purchase a plane ticket and fly to you. I have to rent a car, of course. I like the car, but tell you that I’m already into it for $750 just to come look at it, and to transport it home means hiring a transport service and flying home, or renting a truck and trailer and transporting it myself. I tell you that getting it back to my home will cost about 5K and want you come down off your price as compensation. Do do cave and sell to me because you somehow owe me because I live a long way from me, or do you tell me to get lost and hold out for a more reasonable offer? Remember, you didn’t force me to make the long trip to see your car. It’s got nothing to do with socialism - even dealerships charge destination on top of a new vehicle’s price...
Believe me I know how TV production budgets go. The price of the truck and the cost of the towing I’m sure we’re all paid for by the production. That’s small potatoes.
I had a 41 with this body and grill style and they made them till 1949, picked it up for $150. needed a transmission, and sold after fixing a few things for $475. 1974-5

Although he was arrested for an incident on the road in 2017, it was neither a road accident case nor did it result in his death. That’s a steal for that truck today. Texas Arizona and California are truck states those are worth a lot of money and many people looking for those will pay money
They said it'd cost $1000 to get the truck home. So when they say it cost $2k and will sell for $6k, it's a bit silly to say the profit is $4k - the truck cost $3000 in total.
I love how these guys always increase or decrease each other’s bids by 10% no matter the number. $10 becomes $15 becomes $12. $150 becomes $170 becomes $160. Always!
Those american cars especially the old ones are made with the best qualifications back in the day to have their motors running like that after so many years of abandonment! When you see something that old that had to being used for allot of time you immediately saying to your self its not gonna work,it might be missing few things from its machine or it is too freaking wear off but when you hear it starting you can instantly see the value on those things as a whole. If you put a newer model of car from 19-20 and send it back in time leave it for 60 years and try to make it work now i believe will not run or work like those behemoths!
Mike you should bring your brother out more often to keep your business vibrant. You always paid too much and often show the seller you are excited thus they never want drop price
Sometimes I think these people over collect. There’s nothing wrong with collecting cool awesome old stuff. But when you just stored in a shed in the barn is pile everything up around it what’s the point. You don’t get to enjoy it. If I was going to collect stuff like that I would have it displayed for my enjoyment and others. Not stuck in a barn somewhere rusting.
The cost of the truck does mean a lot and the price of hauling it home means just as much if you are trying to turn a buck. It needs to be in the price or you lose your business
2k for that 47 are you joking me ! An international harvester over here in Ireland sold 18k which is about $25,000 I cannot believe he sold that truck for that I'd have loved something like that
That is the coolest looking old truck I have ever seen. The patina was incredible.
That's crazy! I'd give 25 hundred right now for that truck!!
That’s what I was thinking, that truck is awesome!
Even without a motor at all.
Indeed 🤪

I would love to own it for that

I'd have given him the 25 without batting an eye. Perfect truck to clear coat as is and make brand new underneath. Crazy cool ride .

Wow what a beautiful truck
Why can't I find a steal like that......
That barn is a lot of fun to look around. Although most of his stuff is not for sale
