As a backer of Hel, and someone who missed out on Anyistar. I hope they combine the 2 and offer something even greater. And yeah at this point I'm only looking at late pledging for ANYTHING. I want to see what a company is doing post funding a project b4 I get involved anymore.

I mean I’ll be 100% transparent. From 2016-2022 I was a superbacker year after year, since all this stuff with Mythic in combination with a few others and a general horrible lack of transparency and proper management from many kickstarters…I haven’t backed a single game.

I really appreciate you doing this video Lance. I didnt back the two projects mentioned here but i did back darkest dungeon by mythic and will probably not see the wave 2. I feel bad for everyone that backed these games.

The difference between Myth and Mythic is what they knew *during* campaigns. Based upon statements from former employees, market conditions, and their own financial situation we can be very sure that Mythic knew they could not deliver on Monsterpocalypse as promised during the campaign. If so, they knowingly lied and used those lies to entice people to give them money. If so, there are a variety of laws in their home jurisdiction, as well as internationally, that they may have broken ... and when that results in millions of dollars being taken from people with no belief they could deliver on what they said they were going to deliver ... that is potentially a major crime.
If so, this is not just a failure to perform ... it was a horrendous evil against thousands of people. If so, it was not a lost bet - it was a theft.

Ya I remember Confrontation. I have a few of the minis from the original game. Thanks for watching and posting.

Unfortunately I'm to the point that I would rather pay eBay prices instead of taking the chance on crowdfunding anymore. The plus side is I know the product actually exists and I can get real reviews on it the down side is the cost is much higher usually.

That is a much safer approach and an understandable one. There are a number of benefits to it except the higher price. Thanks for sharing and watching;)

I think there are few out there that would. I doubt we will see them run another crowdfunding campaign again, if they are even able to produce games. I think more likely they will create a new company or become a design team for another company working in the background.

Tough break on the projects you have backed, Lance. I have a very similar taste in games as you but somehow have managed to dodge all the Kickstarter disasters so far (didn't have the funds at the time of project).
Only project that I'm writing off is Cyber Odyssey by Red Joker. Sadly that one looks like to be 200 dollars in the river 😒

Its okay, I have gotten some amazing games over the years so if one goes bust once in a while I am okay with that. That's great you have missed the bad ones and go luck with any of your future ones. Thanks for watching and sharing;)

I think CMON was hoping to improve their reputation with the community for their mistakes by stepping in to save Mythic's failed projects. I will be glad to get my copy of Hell as long as shipping doesn't cost as much as a new game.

I agree that would make sense with some of the PR issues CMON has had. Thanks for watching and posting.
