"David Frank" played the infectious Horn Lines & Bass Synth in "Phil Collins"- 'Sue, sue, sudio;, produced records for "Eric Clapton", Annie Lennox", too many to recall, as are his compositions. The Best At What They Did.
Yeah he can sing. He's definitely no "In studio artist". dope to see this. Even his back up singers are on point with him lol That song is a forever childhood classic
The System's greatest success came in 1987 with the release of the single "Don't Disturb This Groove," from the album of the same name. helped the duo achieve their biggest US Pop hit, "Don't Disturb This Groove". The single reached #1 on the Billboard R&B chart and #4 on the Hot 100. The follow-up single, "Nighttime Lover," was also a top 10 R&B hit, peaking at #7. Murphy and Frank parted ways professionally after releasing their Rhythm & Romance album in 1989.
I understand that people become offended when people mention how today's music doesn't compare to that of years past, but it's just the honest to God truth. With the exception of a few artists, today's music will never be able to spark nostalgia like these songs, the styles, etc. Sorry, but I'm a PROUD 80's kid...
This is so rare . In all my years I’ve never heard this performed live. I’m from the 70s & this is super cool. They really were performers . The System 😁
+Nkosi Nu Heka Kau Sen I hear what you're saying, but actually, no they weren't. This is Classic '80s, and the '80s was thee 'Ish! I know 'cause I was there. I'd say they were right on time! PEEECE ;)
I guess he means that at this time that was a sound never heard before, for example I Wanna Make You Feel Good was a crazy track: ua-cam.com/video/TpnpFElE0Eg/v-deo.html
I love Mic and Dave. Waaay ahead of their era. They still sound pretty much cutting edge even today. They should have toured with Depeche Mode around the US in 1988, would have made a perfect match.
I'm 18 and I LISTEN TO THIS SONG SOOO MUCH EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DAY! I KNOW THE LYRICS. HAVE IT ON MY PHONE. MY ITUNES. Let's just say that I'm a dedicated part of their system.
I know right me two Mic always seems so chill like he just was trying to do his thing. Remember hearing this song on the radio in New York city in 1990s .
They have a video from 2012 where they did a show in NY and they did the damn thing. I think it is under Lloyd Harvey's videos. They gave the audience their money's worth and then some and Mic is STILL so fine!!
I still love this song this is what pure talent looks like when you to have it classic hands down love these guys .I wish I could marry David lol for real tho.God Bless.
Always loved this song. It had a great beat was total 80's in it's synthesizer usage. And just made me remember of better times. MUCH better then the crap on the radio today.
Great song to this day! One of my favorites. Great lyrics and the synth arrangement is infectious! Every time this joint comes on the radio I'm like, "Dang, this song don't get old!"
I was not expecting Mic to come rollin' out in the '55 Thunderbird!! They were not playing around! As far as albums that were released, in the month I was born, this has to be my favorite. Fun fact: Jimmy Jam from Jam & Lewis, stated in a recent interview that the System were a big inspiration to what became their distinctive "pretty top, ugly bottom" sound. Mic and David, had married the two, to perfection and J & L, did their own thing with that concept but keeping the same general idea: fat, funky low end, with bass and synths and beautiful vocals and electric piano, combined to make a strong, juxtaposition that moves you both, emotionally and compels you to move your feet.
The white dude on the keys (david Frank), later wrote "Genie In A Bottle" for Christina Aguilera....19 years later.
