Yerrrrr Bobby held it down
Sax guy absolutely crushed it… ✊🏾
Didn't know Elton played Sax!
Yo he definitely did!
Patrick Lamb from Portland Oregon
Hola se equivoco????
Indeed he did
I was 15 back in 78 when this song hit. We couldn´t believe such a soulful voice was coming from a white cat. It told us that anybody could have soul. This song became probably my favorite r&b song ever. Still love it, still as fresh 36 years later.
Martin OneEightSeven lol......Still lookin cool tho
Martin OneEightSeven You'll be old too one day...enjoy your youth.
CatFishDyl Productions Young people have no idea how fast it goes. The challenge is keeping yourself young for as long as you can
LeRoy Tate It's hard to sing that way for quite a long time and Bobby's singing here is exceptional. It's like I was sent back to the 1970s. And yes, I perfectly agree with you on this one.
***** I would bet he didnt too
Bobby Caldwell was baptized in shea butter and coconut oil
LMFAO
Stolen comment👎🏽

@@BatMuncher .... I said it. So what's next?
He still had a voice here. Rest In Peace Bobby. This song is a timeless classic.
This song takes you back to where you were when you first heard it. Good memories. REST Well Bobby
I totally agree, his voice was still strong and soulful. How I wish I had seen him in concert. He made me think back to 1979 ❤broken heart💔
@@bballerforever I agree. I remember when I was 8 years old, this was my favorite song. I didn't he even know he passed away until today. Sleep peacefully Bobby. We all still love you.
@@GLCParakeets His soulful voice lives on thanks to UA-cam, fortunately for all of

@@bballerforever I agree. His voice is very special, and I'm glad future generations can enjoy it.

Lmaoooo
Man, his voice hasn't changed at all!!!
Jonathan Thacker shit still clean af
It’s insane really that voice is still as transcendent as it was 40 years ago
Jonathan Thacker that voice is gold. He takes care of his voice that’s why. Your voice doesn’t have to show age if you take care of it.
@@Heavenzvoice he goes to the gym every day to work out his voice
@@lomate1963 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rest in Peace Bobby! One of the greatest songs I’ve heard
Yeah. He will always be remembered!
still listening in 2024... the muscians crushed it.... Rest in peace Bobby Caldwell
for a long time I thought Bobby was black
short inserts of slang will do that to you in music. He repeatedly say, "Got a thing for you" in the song. and you not have ever thought of a white guy saying that.

aleialaw, I used to have a sax but I couldn't play like that.
Yes, he is and looking like Elton John too!
Its criminal the way he's handling that sax! I've listened to this 20 times back to back just because of the saxophone!!!
His name is Patrick Lamb, he plays in Gino Vannelli 's band.
Yo he took good care of his voice through the years...
Sure did!!!

Bobby Caldwell!’s passing is such a shocked . He passed away at the age of 71.
Bobby’s vocals are so smooth and sexy on this track , it makes you want to play it over and over again. This song is still part of my DJ music collection .

RIP to the Legendary Bobby Caldwell 🕊️❤️❤️🙏🏻🥺 We will never forget that majestic voice that broke barriers and was preserved so well all those years!! ❤️❤️
Only a genius like Bobby Caldwell could take his own best song to another level. I definitely love the original version but damn, this refreshed arrangement is mind blowing !
Facts and still have the energy to perform this live decades later and special shoutout to the person on the saxophone.
Alt. changes are very hip
His voice has matured a lot also, makes the song as good as new

In Loving Memory of my cousin Steve Eidson who past away April 6,2020. Steve played with the famous Bobby Caldwell and he was a remarkably gifted and talented musician. He taught himself to play the Hammond B3 organ in High School because he was inspired by the great Mose Alison. He entertained all of us who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Cousin Eidson, you're finally home. Hope my Dad was there to greet you when you arrived.
I hope their lookin down upon you with pride

The sax player’s tone quality is phenomenal, but still has this delicious edge to it.
I was born in 88 .. my father played this song daily until his passing and I Always thought it was a Motown artist or what not. But to me it's beautiful he has a beautiful voice I've been listening to it since i was a lil girl

@@drphot6050 relax bro.. ur way overthinking it..
I guess you wonder where I've been
I searched to find a love within
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Well I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of
What you won't do, to do for love
You tried everything but you don't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love what I would not do
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
But I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
But then I only want the best, it's true
I can't believe the things I do for you
What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything but you won't give up
In my world, only you make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do

He was a world class songwriter who also happened to possess the kind of mellifluous voice that made him soul music royalty. Today we say a sad goodbye to legendary singer and songwriter Bobby Caldwell, a four decade star best known for his now-iconic hit "What You Won't Do For Love."
