Got mine with 185,000km on it. Use it as a winter beater, but I love it. Mines now 235,000km, alternators replaced, replaced leather armrest for a couple hundred, outside of that regular oil, plugs and brakes. I think this thing is a better Subaru in the snow. Amazing all around vehicle with an excellent weight distribution.
Picked up a 2011 RDX just this month..my first non sedan car..what an easy transition, RDX is so fun to drive, the view is amazing all around almost no blindspot at all. Immediately changed all the fluids tranny, rear differential, transfercase and new engine air filter to start really fresh. Absolutely in love with it so far

Love my pearl white 2010 RDX SH-AWD with After market 19in wheels. I've had her since 2016, she's a bada$$. Never had a car longer than 3 years, prior - I'm attached. 160k and still running strong.
I've had an 08 since 2014 and it's up to 170k. Love the car. I always think of it as a bit of a sleeper...sneaky fast, fun to drive, but doesn't stand out. It's not too bad from a diy maintenance perspective, either. My only complaint is that some interior components have worn out faster than I expected (sun visors, some of the leather trim, and stuff like the air mix motor under the driver's side dash that starts creaking and groaning when the ventilation settings change).
Bought my '11 near 2 years ago. Other than some leaky CV trans issues, it's been crazy reliable and fun. Aftermarket intake and straight pipe sounds amazing on it. SH-AWD makes the SUV feel much smaller than it is. Little low on torque but oh man the redline is so fun. Looking to get it tuned soon with a flash and suspension upgrade and really unlock the power.
I bought a facelifted first gen RDX 3 months ago and absolutely love it! I had only driven Honda coupes prior and was reluctant to get an SUV but I needed it to go skiing and camping. Mine is silver with the tech package and black leather interior. It drives so well and the power from the turbo is great. I’ve done several road trips with it this summer and it performs great even climbing through the desert. I live in a downtown of a big city and it zips around easily and is great to park especially with the backup camera

LOTS OF FUN OPTIONS FOR THIS ALREADY SWEET RIDE!! Here's what I've done to my '11 @ 197750kms so far: K&N Typhoon, TS hybrid BOV, MF 2.5" 1st & 2nd cats to ATLP 3" CB SS exh.- I bought the last one they made...I believe discontinued now. Hondata Flashpro of course. Upgraded snail from Blaast in Quebec, and I just got tracking on the catless 3" dp from IMR to replace the 2.5 MF. It's a quick stock machine nonetheless, but an absolute rocket with the hondata base tunes and really taking advantage of 'sport' drive mode with paddle shifting. So, yeah- I kinda like it. Honda/Acura really thought it out....stock internals are forged. Yes, you can tear open her heart and upgrade to your hearts' content, but I'm more than happy with my setup thus far. Going for a final tune once the 3" is installed and that will be it. For a 4000lb grocery getter it can move. My $0.02
It’s been such a great car for me, bought it 3 years ago with about 145k and now up to 165k, only issue it’s given me was the alternator crapping out on me, but so far it’s been a joy to drive. Only wish it had the tech package because sometimes I miss having an actual Navigation center screen, and the aftermarket for this generation is a little lack luster :(. But if you can find a low mileage and clean one, it’s very worth it!
Really depends on how I drive. Unfortunately I don’t have Sh-AWD, but it saves some mpgs I guess. my commute to work in the morning is about 30 miles all highway and I can average somewhere are 23-34 at around 75 mph. And like 20-22 in areas where there’s a lot of elevation changes. At higher speeds the turbo spooling just kills mpg. When I get stuck in traffic I average about 16-18 which isn’t great but it is what it is
Honestly my dream car. I wanna buy one to get out of my WRX and keep it forever. Daily it for a few years and then get a newer Acura and turn the K23 into a street monster
215,000mi here 08 Tech. Cons I’ve had I fixed myself, wastegate actuator linkage/bolt known to go bad triggering CEL, also related turbo elect solenoids, AC Clutch also is known to go out / replaced with new denso unit. Radio over time will also break down, replaced mines twice. It’s so integrated with the hvac system that you may be in able to read the temp or clock in the upper section of the console. Headliner will start to separate. Over time the tranny fluid can eat through the radiator and when mixed, could cause tranny failure if not caught quickly. Heater hardline under the intake manifold will rust and needs to be replaced to prevent a catastrophic engine failure. I think that’s about it other than replacing all suspension and bushings. It’s a good car just has a weird tire size. Upcoming upgrade would be to install a separate cooler for tranny fluid so there is absolutely no chance for it to fail.
@@pargolf3158 yep, funny it pulled that code after months of installed that new actuator bolt too. Ended up changing the two solenoids on the driver side behind the valve cover facing the firewall. Fixed the problem. So in all, I changed the actuator bolt, two solenoids, the map sensor on the inter cooler .
@@MikeHunt2053 Thanks, I had that code and the shop told me that I need a new turbo. I got my buddy with a scannner to clear the code. Its been 15K miles and code has ot come back.
@@SteffanJohal it literally fell into my hands so I had to act quick I shall treat it like a new car and stay on maintenance for longevity. And add a few lil tricks to make it scoop but the pull from zero to 45 when boost and vtec both hit is 🎯
Mine been nothing but reliable beside the turbo had to get it rebuild just for the info here when you get the code to change the piece on the turbo I forgot the code it tend to crack in the inside keep that in mind
Once again your on point. Definitely a weird looking truck along with the zdx. I always said the front was missing its CHIN. They both looked like something was missing on the bottom of the bumper. I've only seen 1 in person along with 1 zdx. So rare. I had to google the rdx once I saw the word TURBO on it. I was like huh really. Now the new ones are upscale. Not a fan of anything new coming from honda/ acura. The new accord gets 2 thumbs down. I thought it was a Hyundai at first. Please do the ugly accord next please lol
Amazing car and I love it, but is no one gonna mention how bad it is on has. You can do majority highway driving and you will average 13.5L/100km. And that’s is with a new engine air filter, mobil1 engine oil, on 91.
Might want to check that pedal on yours😅. I get 10.8L/100km if I mostly put it in Cruise when I can on daily work commute in city. Driving around I'll get 11.8. I've also shamefully started using regular and it punishes it about 0.1 to 0.2L/100km.
@@SteffanJohal yeah. I have access to a 2019 mdx also and they get the same gas mileage- it makes me angry but the rdx still is better. The trick is pedal shifting with cruise control n I’ve managed to squeeze 448 miles out one tank (straight 60mph on highway)
Everyone in the comments section KNOWS the first gen RDX with SH-AWD is the best kept secret. Rumor has it, Honda rated the horsepower and torque lower than actual fearing lower MDX sales.
I own a 2011 a RDX for about 10 years. The car is great except for the AC. I have about 140,000 miles and will not get ride of the car until it reaches 200,000 miles
I just bought a 2007 rdx turbo sh AWD pre facelift in blue with 109k miles from my job ( work at CarMax and someone sold it to our store). I plan on keeping till 200k+ miles Lord Willing
Our ‘09 had been the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. 225k miles work only one repair (oil filter housing gaskets).

Id say that's not a bad 10 years! But I have noticed from some cars in the mid 2000s similar things to what you are mentioning.
