Just got the same one color and everything. Cool daily for a Honda guy with kids
The wife wanted a CR-V back in 2010. I convinced her to just test drive an used 08 RDX tech with 30,000 miles just to compare to the CR-V. She fell in love with the RDX. We added Hondata, ETS intercooler, drop in K/N air filter Eibach lowering springs, and Progress RSB. Fun CUV to drive and it drove better the harder you drive it. Added Hondata ECU reflash and the ETS intercooler improved the mpgs from 17-18 range to 19-20.5 combined. Still on the road today with 200,000 miles (handed down to our daughter back in 2019).
The ELS stereo is fantastic IF you can find any DVD Audio discs. Torn center console leather is a common issue with the RDX. Any upholstery shop can swap out with real leather for around $100. The hard rear hatch fits perfectly under the all weather cargo mat if you need to store it on the go. OSRAM D2S Cool Blue Xenon 5000k-6000k HIDs are a good upgrade for the low beams. Adding a hidden hitch only takes about 15 mins to install and adding a 4-way trailer plug is plug-n-play in the hatch area.
Thanks for the comment! So far we love the RDX! We are going to be repainting it end of March. Got the OEM roof rack. The parts to increase fuel economy sound interesting! I have many cars that are tricked out so not trying to do too much to this besides give it a little update in wheels and catch all its maintenance up.

Love my '07. It was built in October of '06, and is number 8,740. I've only done intake and exhaust so far. It's a fun car to drive.

@@bryanCLXTdef do a full service on your RDX. my cousin bought a RDX with 150k I immediately did oil, trans fluid, rear diff fluid, spark plugs, coils, brake fluid flush, etc

Nice happy for you! I have a 2008 Acura RDX white with black w/ tech pkg ever since 2012. Which now has wrapped out 213,000 km. It’s been nothing but amazing and a fun car to drive. There was not many issues or anything major yet.. Over all it’s been a nice car. This car will treat you right. Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you! We absolutely love it. We just re painted entire car a few weeks ago. We have had a couple small issues on car but small issues. Backup camera is on and off working and out right rear turn signal isn’t working… lol we’ll have to schedule some more time to diagnose here soon. :)
I have an ‘08, and the handling is like a sporty car, and I put on a turbo smart recirculating bypass blow off valve, and before I know it, I’m doing 80 without realizing it , super cool suv, staying with me to the end !! Thanks for your video brother, take care .
what exactly does the bypass blow off valve do ?

The blow off valve releases the excess boost pressure trapped in charge pipe between shifts and when throttle is let off closing the throttle body. The pressure has to go somewhere and without this, it back logs and slows the turbine.

I had a new CRV in 2012. Loved that car, but it was the first year of a redesign and it had problem after problem. Just bought a new 22 RDX last year, black on black. Absolutely in love. It’s not on the CR-V platform. Ask any Acura mechanic. Of course that may be different from the year you have. Nice upgrade. Congratulations!
Thank you! We plan in upgrading our RDX to one of the newer A spec models at some point but this will do for now. Only the 1st generation RDX was built off the CR-V platform.

I got a ‘08 and my friends and I love it. It’s practical and fun to drive! I just put a k&n cold air intake on it and it’s just so much fun!
We love ours! We left the stocknintske with a k&n filter. We’ve also fully repainted vehicle now. Timing service is upon us!

We have an '09 RDX. Love the power above 70 mph. No downshift on hills or when passing. Best mpg has been in the 25-27 mpg range on trips. During the Winter we rarely see 20 mpg in daily driving. I change my own oil, Mobil 1 5W-30, unless we're headed south(Florida) in the Summer, then I'll switch to Mobil 1 5W-40. 157,000 miles with only the A/C failing at about 140,000 miles. I try to use 91-93 octane, but E-15(88 octane) seems to work in the Winter months.

I have an '11 since new. It's awesome and always has been. Haven't had too many issues with it either though it sucks gas and eats brakes. Stay up on the oil changes and don't be afraid to open it up.
That’s great! We are loving ours. We recently custom painted it. Had to change vtec solenoid, and radiator went bad on us but been an amazing car!
Our backup camera works on and off and our RH rear turn signal doesn’t work. Not sure what’s going on…

I got a 07 with 100018 miles. New turbo at 99800 and downpipe. Gonna get a intake and muffler next.
Love the car! We are repainting it now. I almost got an intake but decided to leave OEM air box and went with a k&n drop in. Wouldn’t mind doing an exhaust system tho.

I have a 2008 tech package very reliable over 350 ,000 kms onit no complaint, and for a litttle bit for look i added a set of spacers for my wheels defenitively much better 19 mm thick .
We love ours! We fully repainted ours a few months ago. Most the maintenance is caught up. Getting amped up to do timing chain next tho!
I have a 2010. I bought it after doing my research for what Honda is the most reliable. This was the best rated. Everyone knows the K24 is a beast, and the 2.3 is basically just a smaller hone. It’s a bit of a pain to work in compared to a cr-v but when it’s all running perfectly, she can move out.
We love it! Its had a couple issues because of mileage but always easy to work on. Just a little more work to get to a few things since it has the intercooler on top. The starter replacement was much easier tho since the intake swoops upward instead of down. Took 30 minutes! 👊😎
@@nitroautolab recently had to do coils, was interesting to say the least. I have larger than average hands, so getting the intercooler off and on again was a two person effort. Mainly due to the hose clamps.
Nothing major. Going to refresh the turbo in the spring. 180,000 miles on mine right now. Runs and drives like most brand new Nissan suvs. 😆
Can you tell me where you bought your LED headlights? Also specs on it? I also loved my 2007 RDX with 65k on it.
The low beams on this are HID and got them on Amazon. For years on all of our cars, I’ve been running “Ironwalls” 6 sided LED kits. On this there is led on our High beams and fog lights. Very inexpensive and been very reliable!
I can’t roll with window tint except it sucks at the boarder crossing I need to roll down all windows
We have to tint everything instantly. Protests interior and prevents being blinded by peoples headlamps in mirrors. Lol
What brand led did you use for fog lights and high beams ?
I’ve been using the same brand for years with zero faults on multiple vehicles of mine and several customers vehicles. IRONWALLS 4 sided or 6 sided LED. They are plug and play and are really bright in most applications. Purchased from sellers on eBay. I have yet to see one fail in almost 6 years.
Lucky for ya. Smh California didn't allow us to buy the BOV lol. Tho i did tried to buy same brand BOV 3x lmao ...I love my 08 SH AWD too. Liked for the Good Review.
Make sure you keep eye on ur Turbo Actuator especially when buying it used. 1st part I checked out and replaced common in This model RDX

Can you wind down all windows with the key fob on your RDX. This works on the MDX i'm curious if it works on this. Be glad to hear @Nitro Autolab

I don’t, I purchased off eBay. It’s the turbo smart komoact dual port blow off valve. Still going strong. No issues! :)
Just because something has the same platform doesn't mean it's the exact same. The RDX has different interior, exterior, motor, wiring, suspension tuning and suspension parts. It's basically a completely diffrent vehicle with a similar chassis base.
Much more bells and whistles. Correct! Very similar. Engine drops out exactly the same. Timing chain service exactly the same, etc

We paid $8,600 from a private seller which was a score for its condition. They range in price. The goal is try and find one for under 9k that should have been listed for 12/13k… :) you’ll love it!
I’m curious about the mileage? I’ve been looking at these as well and I am wondering how many miles is too many for around the $10k price range?
Mine had just over 140k with an inch thick stack of maintenance records from dealer and oil changes. Could tell the entire vehicle was taken care of inside and out. That says a lot about the mechanical end as well.
IMO: For $10k+ I’d say the mileage should be under 150k.
Biggest issue was restriction on the downpipe…rv6 downpipe, bigger injectors and a hondata tune fixed that

@@nitroautolab unfortunately the aftermarket has dried up a bit, i missed out on an ETS factory mount intercooler but was able to find: k&n sri, dw 650 injectors, rv6 dp with high flow cat, atlp exhaust and flashpro tune. Can still get bcbr coilovers for this model.
@habh8r77 yeah, I feel the Acura lineup is always like that because there’s just less of them and less people with them. Honda lineup usually takes the cake on accessories and aftermarket parts. I have several other modified vehicles. Our Acura is just our dependable stock like vehicle lol
Hello there just purchased an rdx 2012 with tech package . I was just wondering if the turbosmart blow off valve could damage the motor or the turbo . I would love to order some but im a little worry about this
No way! It’ll be just fine! 👊😎 go for it and have fun. Had mine on over a year and blow off all the time. Also done many turbo builds on other vehicles and blow offs are on every one of them.

I shopped around patient. Found this was a 1 family owned since new. $8600. Was able to do full bodywork and repaint, new brakes, and other maintenance with savings.
What’s the model number for the BOV?
Part number is TS-0203-1009. We purchased new from a distributor off eBay. This is a dusk port BOV that allows atmospheric pressure release while also recirculating pressure into air intake system. Utilized all factory hookups except changing one vacuum hose to a slightly longer one. Which cost about $2 from local auto parts store.
Plan to buy one of these with 260,000 kms anything i shoild be looking for and how are they long wise and maintenance should i buy it please help thanks
Sorry for late reply. I always suggest a used car inspection. They can usually be done under $200 and that is cheaper than any tow bill or repair. They can last a very long time but at that mileage there’s sure to be some things needing addressed and possibly some maintenance due. We love the car!

Had both. The crv was more simple but the Acura blows it out the water… yes not exactly cheap to drive. It’s no Prius but also no small block Chevy either… I will say this. Had way more issue with our Acura than the Honda tho. Like problems you normally don’t see on a Honda.. weird. Still love it tho!

I have a 2009 RDX base, navy blue, 120k miles. Bone stock. Never wrecked. I thought about looking further for the tech package, but not worth the time and effort. The tech package has a better stereo with navigation, but it has been rendered a nominal issue in 2023. Use your phone navigation app now.
I'm not changing anything on the motor. The engineers who designed the vehicle knew what they were doing and designed it this way for a reason. You have 240 bhp which is fine for this size vehicle. IMO, never, never, paint a car a different color than the original color. Find one in the color you like. it is heartbreaking to drive around and see older Acuras and Lexus vehicles, once pristine motorcars, now completely ghettoed by people who buy them for pennies on the dollar and have to squeeze another 5-10 more hp out of the car, plus lowering the car, putting a fart can muffler on it, cold air intake BS, painting the wheels black for some ridiculous reason.
I'm sure I'll get some hate for saying all this, but it's the truth. The ricer crowd has moved on from Accords and Civics to nicer vehicles.
We love our Acura! We recently repainted entire vehicle with the stock base silver color but we added a mid coat with some angel dust sparkle in it for some effect. It’s only seen in the sun light. We’d love to get the new A spec RDX. One day!

That’s funny you say that. I had a cr-v before this and locked it but had to install a new compressor on it. The one on RDX seems fine so far. We just had to replace the one on our k24 accord as well. I feel they get beat up from weather and water being so low in front in the K series engines.
@@nitroautolab yah it’s unfortunate because it makes what would otherwise be great used cars like the crv and rdx, an expensive gable if you don’t have your own shop and can’t do the work yourself.
I've had a 2008 RDX in Russia for 11 years. The car is simply Super, SW-AWD in winter - the best of all, on any road. Only problems with the air conditioning, I changed the compressor 3 times

I’d go for the 2008. That’s low mileage and Hondas go forever. Especially with proper maintenance. Also, personally I hated the facelift changes on the 1st gen. We love our car. We are gonna be driving it until we get a 3rd gen Aspec.

You get what you pay for and try and replicate the quality and features in anything newer. You’ll have to spend 20k+. We payed $8600 for ours and it was a steal since it was maintained so well. Paint was rough with a few cosmetic repairs, but we repainted entire thing.
Only things I’ve had to do besides change the oil was replace the vtec solenoid, radiator, and I serviced the brake system completely, and transmission service.
Year over year the RDX looks 10x better and is way faster. RDX is a far superior vehicle in every way.
We’d love to upgrade ours to a 3rd gen at some point. Just waiting for them to drop a price a bit and get more used lol.

Actually the first generation RDX is based off the third generation CR-V platform. We had a third gen CR-V and loved it but decided to come over to the Acura lineup.
How is it reliability wise??
As reliable as any other Honda this era. Pretty comparable to Honda cr-v. We love it! Maintenance is everything!

Didn’t like the thought of removing all of the OEM air boxes. The bov was also half the cost of a quality intake setup. 20 minute install. 👊😎

Yes that is considered high mileage. If we’ll taken care of and maintained I’m sure it’s got some life in it. Plus any bring can be fixed or replaced at the end of the day. But at 300k I wouldn’t consider it a car for long travels. Just a car for your local county. Incase something happens, not a long tow.

@ktjane1958 yes, we used this to service transmission. We recommend only using genuine Honda/Acura fluid. We also recommend servicing transmission regularly to extend life of automatic transmission units.
The way this dude opens/closes and turns things on/off is really unnecessary, those poor door handles and lock cylinder.

Yes. If they had chrome door handles, they should have had chrome window surround like the CR-V. In more recent videos we custom painted entire RDX and color matched door handles. Fixed Acuras poor decision. 👊😎
