- Unity3D post processing effects can drastically take a plain looking game from been plain to have a much polished look.
In this video I talk you through Unity3d post processing effects such as grain, bloom, ambient occlusion, and vignetting. I also show you how bloom affects the scene 3D street light and how you can also set it up for your own indie game.

Hi sir, Im totally new with Unity and the progress of making game. However I have nearly 6 months study in programing. Im still confuse about the progress on how I can be a game dev so would you mind if I can exchange with you through email ?
Sure send me an email to info@dilmergames.com I will be happy to advice you :)
@@dilmerv I have sent you an email sir. Pls response if you have time. Thank you and a happy new year
Absolutely will respond I saw it and can you put your email here just to verify is the email I saw ? Thanks

Timestamps??
For which part ?
So I switched from PPStackVer1 to Ver2 and I'm feeling very disappointed so far. Not as many options, the effects don't seem to look as impressive. In fact I'm not even noticing that much of a difference in lighting with bloom on. So I'm obviously doing something wrong. But either way, the options seem rather limited.
Am I correct in my understanding of the bloom effect in that it only works when the "Emission" property of a shader is activated?
How much does AO affect game performance?
Each one of these effects will affect performance so I recommend running performance analysis as you enable each effect.
What version is this ?? Tank you
why you apply bloom effect on the camera post process volume and only the light got the bloom effect? If I do that, then bloom effect apply on everything in my scene. How to apply effects on perticular object??
Look at layers under the postprocessing settings and you can select which layers should get a specific effect.
@@dilmerv I see. I changed the object's layer to be specific as the layer that I set up in the post process layer. However, it still doesn't have the bloom effect. But once I change the layer to everything, everything will get the effect.
@@dilmerv Also do you think bloom effect will work well on Magic Leap platform? I only want the bloom effect apply to a small amount of objects
Great and straight ot the point! Thanks man!
You are welcome and thank you for your time !
All effects work except ambient occlusion for me. I asked unity forum and discord, nothing so far, same for few others who have this problem. Any idea?
Same here, I thought it might've to do with scale, but changing that doesn't do anything either. Anyone?
Did you get this to work? If you didn't I will make a new video thanks
Thanks for the info
Did you get this to work? If you didn't I will make a new video thanks
@@dilmerv Not sure if the question was for me/both, but I didn't. More videos from you 'd be awesome anyway :)
hi how do i remove all shadows? just make it flat color? :3
Just go to the “Directional Light” and turn the shadows off :) let me know if that helps.
@@dilmerv thanks for your reply. its good, but not to what i have in mind. well im trying to achieve 2.5D game. i imported the mesh. and made it into prefab. the 1st scene i have importted doesnt have any lights. but the meshes are bright and it does look good. but when i try it on another scene. its dark. XD maybe i am missing something
this is the 1st scene i have imported. the one on the right is what i wanted :3 cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/280522264624234498/662537134405713960/unknown.png
