Right
@@Jesusisatthedoor I,love when music hits the soul!
I didn't just hear his wow, I felt it.
Me too :D
when they said “G G C A D F E”
i felt that
WOW! the pure innocence of a small boy charmed an appreciative audience, and now his WOW! is heard around the world.
And melting heart along the way....
The WOW! heard 'round the world. We can only hope that it will start a civil peace.
Love this...who's tearing up?..not me..um..no

What a wonderful performance. What a wonderful boy and grandfather. What a wonderful audience. Beautiful all over.
Music that makes the nonverbal speak deserves a "Wow"!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤
RozSpeaks Amen.
Agreed!
Indeed.😊
That's beautiful.....and give credit to the wonderful Grandpa who took his grandson to the symphony.
I agree with you. This is very important, for the family to still include them in all kinds of activities (inside the level of confort of every child of course).
A coworker's 7 yo son has autism, and his mom doesn't take him to birth day parties anymore because she sees he doesn't play with other kids and only wonders around by himself in the playground and she took him out of soccer because he only runs after the ball and doesn't understand the game.
I asked if he requested stop going but when she said that he didn't I told her that maybe it's his way of enjoying the party, and he gets to eat cake and get the party goodies and candies, and who cares whether he scores goals or not, he is enjoying the game. He is verbal and it's very capable of saying if he likes something or not, his parents just want him to act the way they think is "normal" and not the way he enjoys things.
Sheer wonderment
@@PauAngieSadly, that is a lazy grandmother finding an excuse to not take the child to functions.
My son reacted the same way. I have music playing all the time, never reacted to rock, soul or country. We were going out to eat one night and I had classical music on in the car. When we got to the restaurant he was different. Everyone noticed he was calm. From then on I played it all the time, especially if he was having a meltdown. He also is autistic. Music mends...
Just found out my grandson is Autistic, maybe he will like it. My autistic daughter and son like music, but I never tried classical
My son has ADHD. Classical music calmed him down tremendously.
Beautiful, God bless.

It’s because of the Specific FREQUENCIES of Each Piece, FITTING Together. At least that’s how I think of my Uncle’s Autism....like he was always trying to Put His Puzzle Of a Mind Together & When He Listened To Or Played Classical, it helped EVERYTHING In His Mind...FIT.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU BOTH! Peace, Lynne
He looked very alert and aware during the cellist performance with a wonder filled smile at the end!
I feel like some people I have certain parts of the brain on over active mode and when you tap in to that music area it would soothe or downplay areas that are giving anxious or reoccurring thoughts
This is what doesn’t happen when the arts are taken out of our children’s lives!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Although Maths does make me think Wow. Does depend on who's teaching.
Athletics are overly important in most schools. The arts (art and music) are second class at most schools.
@@mikewrasman5103
And it goes hand in hand with mathematics 🤔🧮📏📐
@@mikewrasman5103 They are all important, as a poor and homeless at times kid, sports saved me, and even more so my wrestling coach saved me. If my heart had seeked out the arts, that too may have done the same thing.
As a music teacher of 26 years, I can vouch for its power. We had an autistic child in my band class from the time he was in 7th grade. He was also nonverbal. One day in the middle of rehearsal, he chanted back the exact (complex!) rhythm I had just modeled. His aid was floored, as was his mom when she heard of his reaction. Discovering they could connect with him through music. his vocabulary increase for 4 words to close to 500 almost over night. It was a miracle!
You should be a very proud teacher! Well done.
Never doubt the power of music. When words fail, music speaks. Wow, indeed, Ronan! Keep listening!
❤
@@cynthiabustamante2884 I love you too
Amen. God bless!
God loves music
God is the one that GAVE us music! Hallelujah that He did! I cannot live without music, seriously. Music got me through the abuse I got from three family members growing up. It was the only way to escape the words and the actions of them and I listened to all kinds of music. I also played piano and guitar then and now to escape the world.
The most beautiful Wow I’ve ever heard!
Indeed!
Music sometimes brings me to tears, so I completely understand. I used to be ashamed of it; I now realize that music simply touches me differently than some others. Bless this child.
Me to
Music touches all of us, you are not alone in this. We can trace the years thru it and be touched by it. It's a friend when you need one and can open even the hardest of people. Enjoy your music even if it makes you cry It is touching your soul
Me too
You my friend are hyper sensitive to the vibrations from the instruments 🥁 🎹 🎺 in a wonderful way. Embrace your gift 🎁 💝.
Music has been extremely important to my recovery from a head injury when I was hit by a car recently.
It stimulates the brain, and can have a massive impact on mood and emotional status.
There are people who think that because a child is on the Autism spectrum that they don't recognize things going on around them. Just because a child is non-verbal, or doesn't look you in the eye when you speak to them that they're somehow less intelligent than others "neural-typical" child but they are incredibly intelligent in other ways. Just like this little boy, they know and can acknowledge beautiful music.
Amen
They just don't always have an outlet to express and show how intelligent they are. Usually once you find there things it really helps a lot in every child every person autism or not has something that is their thing that they love to do or the sea or the here and when you find it it will help everyone.
Autism doesn't cause not looking into the eyes when speaking. Anxiety, or well your disrespectful.
I was told I can't possibly be autistic by a therapist because I was "too intelligent and self aware"
Hyperfixating on books and information about things I'm interested in made me intelligent and self aware.
That hyperfixation is caused by my Autism which has a genetic source in my case at least, highly likely in people with my condition.
People make a lot of messed up assumptions about disabilities and we have SO FAR TO GO.
I think we may be looking at a musical prodigy....someone give that young man an instrument and let him explore his world with music!! 😊❤
Wow! That kid looked noticeably different while the cellist played.
Oh gosh, Mr. Hartman! You truly *do* have one of the best jobs ever. Wow, indeed.
I cried at "WOW!, and all the way through. Music breaks through the barrier of strokes, dementia, and autism because it activates a different part of the brain. This boy needs music lessons and regular music therapy! His eyes were absolutely riveted to the cellist. ❤️
After seeing the eyes of a mother so desperately desiring to hear the voice of her child speak "I love you" I can appreciate the wonder in this little boy and what a breakthrough this was. My friends lost thier oldest son 3 years ago at the age of 9. He was non verbal for the exception of 30 or so very labored words. Rest in peace Sammy you are dearly missed.
That made me tear up a little. My 15-yr old son is also autistic and just recently discovered guitar. He plays everyday for the last year and is simply amazing. He'll be touring with his band in the fall. It opened him up in ways nothing else did. Never give up.
Keep listening to music Ronan, I hope truly hope it's a door for you walk through into this world.
May Jehovah bless this little man
he is trying to get in and I am trying to get out
Maybe this will be his window to the world. Perhaps music will enable Ronan to be verbal.😎
@@irockireckon9776 ~or he's smart. I knew it was safer to stay to myself. Now in my 50's, no longer so freaked out by people/ the world, but only engage enough to make the world sunnier. I try to appreciate this world thru untainted eyes...the third is important ...Our culture and religion will take that from you
Into THIS world? He's better off in whatever world he's in.
As a music teacher (now retired), I have had several students on the autism spectrum, and every one of them was very musical. Music is a means of communicating unlike any other, and many of these children respond profoundly. What a gift it is, to be able to reach them and to be a part of their genuine, open response. Thank you, Steve, for your wonderful, uplifting stories!!!
You can hear the mesmerization and a sense of bewildered awe in his voice. Such an intensely beautiful human moment.
My Brother in law can tell you when he wants his "Ipad please", or what food he wants, but he cannot have a conversation with you. He is 21 now and Music is his life. He can sing whole songs and loves various types of music..from Chicago, to Metallica, and loves Japanese music the most. He can hear a song and play it on his keyboard..he changes songs around, adding his own touches to make it his own. I believe music touches not only those with Autism..it touches our souls. It has helped me with my severe recurrent depression over my life(no meds have helped).
He feels the music. We all should. His demeanor changed when the cellist played. He was so happy & calm.
Music heals ... just look at that smile on his sweet face.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless this child. Music can make one swoon, laugh, cry, bring one to war and bring and give one peace. Bring back the arts in our schools!
Amen & Agreed🤗🎵🎹🎻🥁❣~:)
Im a young guy but I really love classical music. It always leaves me shook.
That response from the little boy brought waves of emotion and tears to my eyes! Simply wonderful! Theres just nothing like it!
Austin children do know. Oh, yes, they know.
In many cases, they just are nonverbal.
Maybe, just maybe, music can unlock being nonverbal.
MUSIC TOUCHES THE SOUL!!!!!! WHAT AN AMAZING YOUNG MAN!!!!!
That's how I felt as a child when my parents took us to the symphony. Course, my parents wouldn't have appreciated if I'd even coughed. This is awesome for all those involved. Great kid!
Out of the mouth of babes! This brought tears to my eyes. A simple WOW but it was impactful! Bless him!
What a beautiful boy and wonderful Grandpa! I love Steve Hartman.
Fitting that the musician was playing a cello in their home. That instrument touches something inside me, like no other.
Wow!! Amazing!
Cute lil boy who knows how to appreciate REAL music!💚💚💚
A lot of people don't seem to understand that music is truly the universal language. It's all about feelings, love, soul, and harmony.
STEVE HAS ALL THE BEST STORIES
Simply glorious and a child felt it. Thank you, orchestra for continuing to give him those experiences!
Wow....that was an awesome story Steve.
We love you Steve Hartman. Thank you for supplying us with good, heart-healing news in a world fraught with chaos where most news is constantly bombarding us with suffering and despair.
An innocent reaction that was heartfelt! Music truly does heal people in mysterious ways!!
I ❤️ this. My daughter has severe developmental delays and a deep love of music. She is not timid about sharing her enthusiasm, so it’s tricky taking her to live performances. If she gets too excited and loud, I can tell it bothers people in the audience. It also breaks my heart that she has to miss out on something she enjoys so much. It’s wonderful to see another side to this.
Have you ever asked a group if she could attend a rehearsal?
That would be better!
Buy CDs of classical music for her.
WONDEFUL STORY! God bless the power of music to change hearts and minds.
tessamersus perfectly said.
Dear CBS: Thank you for following this story, and this ...wonderful interview. Music... did that for me, too- and I hope to continue to share it with the world. It changes things, it changes lives. Ronan (and the conductor) can attest to that.
...*WOW*!!!
Music is the one pure thing that can save a soul and move mountains
Wow...
Beautiful. We need many more stories such as these to be reported. I pray that music will unlock something in this sweet child. If not, at least his parents know he is truly enjoying it, probably more so than most of us. Bravo!
I was already crying by 0:40... WOW!...for my tear ducts!

His smile at the end... 😍
I love whenever Steve does a story. I smile, cry, laugh or all three. Keep up the great work.
That was beautiful in the boys reaction and sending a private concert to his house. Bravo!!
I took my family to the ballet including my 4 year old son. During a dance the dancer jumped up on a box and my son laughed which caused the entire auditorium to laugh,
One can only imagine what this young man really felt that caused this uncharacteristic outburst.
This made me cry so bad! What an amazing child listening to such beautiful music 💖

Thank you !
Our world is s little sweeter today because of these blessings, thank you for sharing! “WOW!”

Really UA-cam assclowns...30 some odd people gave this a thumbs down??!? This is NOTHING but a beautiful moment in this world and an incredible joy to the lives it touched.
I'm guessing he will be attending more live performances now! How wonderful.
One just has to smile watching this clip 🥰
Simply lovely.... ❤️
Wow, indeed. A truly happy article!
Wow. Thank you for this nugget. I was an instrumental teacher in the public schools and always felt chills when a student "got it". The light in they face was the reason I whistled when I went to work. Another story: I was at a wonderful recital by a concert pianist when an adult in the audience began to hit the seat in front of him and make loud sounds. He was developmentally disabled. At the conclusion of the program, the pianist Bela Siki strode quickly to the back of the hall and hugged the man. Siki thanked the man for coming. Most of us in the audience cried in joy. The music made us all human that day.
I love it, that this young boy brought that fresh appreciation for the music, and how it touched both him and the musicians.
Wow!! What a great story. Music has a power that touches the heart and mind. Hope that young man gets to listen to a lot more WOW.
I loved it THANK YOU and WOW
Its so precious! Not only Ronan's reaction...but the musicians whose life it changed 💜
I just love these stories so much!
Beautiful!
Music is everything. It is a balm for illness, an expression of creativity and emotion. It is also a form of communication. Especially for those who cannot communicate verbally or in writing. Music may be a way to engage this boy and facilitate verbal communication and greater interaction with the world around him. God Bless his Dad for exposing him to Classical Music!
So sweet... that's why we never give up... you just don't know what will reach them...
"Music expresses thoughts too specific for words"- Felix Mendelssohn
Amazing! I often feel the same way when listing to classical music.
Knowing that he’s nonverbal makes it even more powerful.
He is an Angel!
He may be nonverbal but look at that face when the cellist finishes playing for him. A beautiful smile that speaks volumes.
Brought tears to my eyes!
This was such a beautiful moment -- and completely warranted by the music! If a good Picardy by Mozart doesn't make you want to yell WOW, you need your ears checked!
This story brightened my day. Thank you Steve.
at the very end, you can see him mouthing words. the sweet boy was talking or trying to! that is so huge for a non-verbal autistic - it brings me to tears!
Julie Enslow Some people with nonverbal autism do develop the ability to use a few words in a meaningful manner but are unable to carry on any kind of significant conversation. For example, they may say "car" to mean "let's go for a ride," but would not be able to answer the question "where should we go?"
@@barbaraboros6676 good to know thank you. I hope in time they all develop that at minimum.
By the headline, I was guessing that he yelled "Freebird!"
This was a lovely story.
Thank you 🙏 it’s wonderful to hear about goodness and positivity ✌️💚🌱🌸
Oh my goodness when they said he was supposed to be non-verbal it gave me chills! Music is so powerful. Now they know he’s capable of speech and tremendously moved by beautiful music. I always played classical music for my children when I was pregnant, and to this day they still love it, especially my son who is 20 - he prefers classical over any other music and loves going to the opera with his dad. That’s unusual for teens & young adults. Wow is the perfect expression for this touching story.
That's awesome. Music is so magical on so many levels. I love this story!
Steve Hartman needs his own video !!! He is always bringing the best stories to us and that deserves recognition !
The innocence of children is immensely heartwarming enough, as it is. Add autism and it is truly, like...wow!
So beautiful - i am crying. Wow
Wonderful how music brings out the best in most of us. Children are more in tune.
Music is a universal language. Just look at his direct eye contact as the cellist is playing...rapt attention is so beautiful!
Wow!!!
Children’s reactions are so pure and in the moment. His reaction was priceless 💕
OK so now I'm crying. So touching. We just never know how our actions may move someone and reach them.
He was captured by it, as we all should be, I hope this helps give him the confidence he needs and the peace he needs to communicate. I'd be taking him all the time after that lol that's for sure.
The music is awesome, and now has a new fan!
That is beautiful!
The other wow is how 10 people disliked this video?
That 'wow' is the greatest compliment ever!! Someone get that young man an instrument to learn, he has an affinity with music!!
Music transcends all dimensions and truly has healing powers.
Music opens up doors in ways we never expect. This is a fantastic example of that.
Absolutely touching and enchanting.
