Congrats! I know that feel, it is very satisfying! The whine is to 95% the servopump, which you need to clean the sinter-filter of. Or a tired servopump sounds the same. And maybe you want to consider throwing out aftermarket airfilters, since in the best case they don't steal horsepower but are guaranteed to either damage your engine or damage your engine. I put KN in all my cars for the longest time, but I was very dilligent with cleaning them, oiling them the right amount and not to wet. It wasn't worth it at all. Too wet and you damage your MAFs, to dry and the engine sucks in ultra small dust particles and contaminates your oil which you don't want on a german engine. Nice that you have a running 4.2 S6, you will definitely enjoy it. Would be great to get a PES supercharger for it, but as far as I know they don't make them anymore for ages.
