Neat little marketing ploy.
Whatever it takes to bring more folks into the fray. 👍
Great job Vito.
This would have been great when I started brewing and did not had much equipment! that would be an awesome starting kit for somebody who does not know any brewing or for those who dont have time
Thanks Vito for explaining all the steps! Being a beginner(with dirty hands) I especially like the sanitizing steps; yes, stick both hands in the StarSans solution!
Holy mother Mary of
morebeer ! Great for dads on the go. I’m checking this out next brew
Excellent, let us know what you think!
This would be good for a club to give away in raffles while recruiting/educating non-homebrewers
Great idea!
Sounds like a easy way to get new people into brewing. Might also mention its a good idea to dip your hands in the star san mixed solution before bottling.
As someone who does all grain brewing but can’t find the time to brew with the newborn, this is awesome!
Does the flash yeast still perform well if fermenting under pressure?
Yes it does
At 5 minutes in you may also want to mention to remove the airlock. As a beginner I had made that mistake and sucked all the sanitizer into my brew.
Takes all the fun out of brew days! Might be ok if you’re in a pinch for time. Be interesting to taste!
Interesting concept! And it's a good idea to sanitize that spigot before bottling too!
Interesting, may have to give it a try
Excellent Video! Got out of brewing and sold all my stuff a year ago because of lack of time and space. This kit has a small foot print and certainly is a time saver. Could you buy extra hops and do dry hopping after fermentation , maybe using magnets and bags?
“Brewed” the I❤ IPA last night, & the Flash yeasts are killing it! Centennial hops are filling the air! Hope it tastes awesome - excellent time saver!
Love to hear it, Chris! Come back and let us know how you like the finished beer 🍻
How does it taste?
@@kornssj Haven’t kegged it yet. I will do that next week and report!
@kornssi - just kegged it - excellent aroma and taste! This is much better than I expected - tastes better than some of the all grain batches I’ve made. I didn’t use a secondary or change the recipe at all. I’ll definitely do this again!!!!
Interesting concept. Did I catch you adding water to the fermenter with the spigot in the open position? I have never done that!! 😉 Cheers! 🍻
Something new we were trying out, definitely not in the instructions 😂🤫
I wanna try this!
very cool but big question is How Does It Taste?
We'll do a tasting episode soon, but we entered one of these into the American Pale Ale category at the National Homebrew Competition this year and it received a 34 in the first round, with the average entry in the category this year receiving a 31.9!
We hope you'll brew one yourself and let us know what you think!
I just kegged my I❤IPA, & it tasted as good as or better than some of the all grain IPAs I’ve brewed! I didn’t use a secondary or change the process at all. I’ll definitely do this again!
Morebeer has high quality ingredients, I know from experience!❤
@@ffff7423 I do too I have been ordering about every other week. My question is about a 10 min beer being as good as putting in the time & heart into one
@@chrispalermo8983 I'd have to give it a try to know for sure.
Question? Does this yeast do well with pressurized fermentation?
Yes it does!
@MoreBeer_ what about aeration or oxygenation? Is it needed?
If it's priced right.i will absolutely try it. Because time, time, time. By the way . Did you mention it's storage time/temprature. In my case it would be for. (Imagine your fuel gauge in your car.) But a beer available gauge in my brewing room. Ok,OK. "Dog house". Anyway how quick and cool! 👍
These are awesome gift ideas
Any chance we can buy the HopBite shots outside of the kits? I'm thinking to make a different style than is offered in the kits, or to use for other no boil beers. I couldn't find them. I saw the other extracts that require boiling, but not the same ones the kit has.
As of right now, HopBite is only available in Flash Brewing Kits. That may change in the future.
Hi @MoreBeer! wondering if i can place the fermenter in my cold box at 70°F? I think you stated Room Temp, but i think 70 is pretty much room temp. Thanks.
If I put my Tilt hydrometer in the fermenter when I fill it, will it give me an accurate starting gravity so I can calculate my ABV?
I'll have to try it some time. No space in brew schedule this year though.
How long can the beer stay in fermenter after fermentation without issue…the question comes from thinking about using mini kegs refills over a reasonable amount of time.
I assume the Flash Yeast is a Kveik strain considering the wide temp range?
Haven’t had a chance to brew in a while, this is perfect to get me back on track. I just got my two kits delivered today.
this is awesome but I wish there was an option to buy this as a 3 gallon kit.. working with a small space for storage
Smaller sizes are coming soon!
Love it
Nice way to get into homebrewing,
I'll have to give this a try!
How do you calculate ABV in flash brewing?
The ABV is pre- calculated for you as long as you add all the Flash Malt, fill with water to five gallons, and ferment to completion. However, if you would like to take your own reading pre and post ferment with a hydrometer, you certainly can.
@MoreBeer_ Thanks for the response. There's no estimated ABV on my Fresh Pressed IPA flash kit sheet. Also, I didn't want to take an OG reading when I made it, because it was all unmixed slop. I didn't think I'd get a useful reading.
i think you have something here! I'm an experienced brewer but could see using these for the time savings. But what is the yeast strain? I may prefer some of my preferred yeasts, heh of course I would. But what would you say the profile is most similar to? Chico? Voss? Weihnstephaner?
I think I'll do one of these as a ferment and serve from the same keg kind of process.
Flash Yeast is key to the success of Flash Brewing because it starts fast and greatly reduces any risk of bacterial contamination. We don’t recommend subbing out different yeast. The flavor profile is very neutral, more similar to Chico.
How many recipes are in a Tonne, please?
So what keeps this process safe from contaminits that may be in the water?
Flash yeast starts fermenting very fast and lowers the pH below a point at which bacteria can replicate.
Did he say the "flash yeast" takes 10-14 days? Is it necessary to use this specific yeast for these kits, and if so why?
It takes usually 3 days from fermentation but we allow it coukd take 10-14 days in case temps are cold and for settling. Just being careful new brewers don’t bottle too soon. The yeast is key to the success of these kits.
Got it, thanks for the reply. I definitely have to order a kit to try it out
Only takes 10 -20 minutes to make and make it on your lunch break!
🤘🍺🍻
Are you guys thinking about fresh wort kits??
Fresh wort kits were an inspiration for Flash Brewing Kits! Over a 5 year journey, we sourced, produced, and tested the ingredients that would allow us to replicate Fresh Wort kits without the water, and risks of shipping gallons of liquid across the country.
What is "hopbite" ?
HopBite shots are a specially processed hop oil that provides bitterness with no need to boil. HopBites do not impart hop flavor. Impervious to light, using HopBite allows you to ferment in clear containers and package in clear bottles.
So, this will prob sound stupid, BUTTTTTT….. this looks perfect for me as a beginner… my idea was that me and my friends, we go out, usually a local brewery. We grab a few beers, get a burger at the food truck, and it’s great. We sit, chat, hang out. But damn, it’s getting expensive, AND…. like all we do is literally, go, buy a beer, eat a burger, TALK, and then go home. The social, part is us all hanging and talking…. I’m fortunate that I have great neighbors and friends, so I told my wife, let’s brew beer, grab some cheap Costco hotdogs, and burgers, we have a great backyard… string lights and all… I have a big projector outside (thank you presentation projector from work)… I’ll brew a bunch, we have a grill… let’s have people come, get a beer, have a dog/burger, sit and talk, and then they can go the Fu#@ home… much cheaper, and kinda fun. I was thinking I’d make an open Google calendar, and put the dates and what beer I have available - and I’d send the calendar out to friends and neighbors and say “I’m cooking and KC chiefs Vs Eagles on Sunday 14th, at 1p. Big screen up - America Larger available. Stop by for as long/short as you want, beer and a burger on me… And then see if we can create like a neighborhood “network” of places to go… one of my friends has a Trager Smoker and LOVES to smoke meats… how about smoked chicken and an IPA and corn hole next Saturday from 5p till 10p at his house? Extract brewing seemed like the place for me to start, but shit, this might just be my “entry point” to see if I can get this shit off the ground….
