I believe he started in 2nd gear. Which makes it a six speed. But if he started in 1st gear that makes it a 5 speed

To put this in perspective, the specially prepped Chiron that just ran 304mph top speed required 43 sec for the span from 200mph to 300 mph.... this entire run from a stop (while walking it out of the hole) took 23ish sec. DECIMATATION of the overpriced VW.

For the record I also hate Bugatti, but that's a production car, meaning they make them using only their own parts and also make multiple. This GT is far from stock, which is why it's able to compete, though it would never get a record because it's a one off build.

I've watched cars at Texas with 3000 hp only manage 272 mph so, I don't think power is the reason why Ford GT's have consistently held the "standing mile" speed record. Everything about its design was considered to minimize aero-drag ..and I think M2K motorsports has more to come..

Well considering the 5.4 block and heads have been low 6's/high 5's in the quarter-mile I'm actually not surprised. Modular Fords with boost are legendary and this coming from an LS guy.

I can't believe this. It wasn't out of power, geared right and with a longer track it could go way faster, don't want anyone to get killed though, damn.
They never even used 6th gear. Went through the traps at 8200 rpm in 5th. The people at M2K Motorsports said on the previous (299 mph) run they went in to 6th gear, but felt the slight taking the foot off the throttle caused a loss of speed, so they elected to just wind out a little more in 5th.
And to think that it’s a six speed……. I think given a long enough track, he could’ve topped 320 mph at least

Gr8 job. That transmission is what made it happen,along with 2500hp this is theee fastest car in the world and im Happy for them. First to achieve 300mph
0-60 in about 4.5 seconds. 0-100 in 7 seconds. 0-150 mph in 10 seconds. 0-200 mph in 13 seconds. 0-250 in 17 seconds. 0-300 in 22!!!
Im lucky to do a quarter mile in 13 seconds. This beast did 200mph in that same time.

It would be great to know the gear ratios they are using for this car. Full throttle at launch means it has to be crazy low with a low final drive to keep the tires from burning up. Very interested to see what it could do in Nevada’s Route 160 speed runs. I think that run allows for 11 miles.

The transmission was 100 oem witn the exception of running a longer 5th gear eliminating another shift and to take full advantage of all 2500+ hp.
Could do 330-340 theoretically if the tires would hold up which I doubt they would.

There is another video on UA-cam, where the car had been displayed at an indoor car show in either Indianapolis or Ohio. After the show was over, they just drove the car out of the arena to the parking lot to load it back into its trailer. Just like it was another car, car was not temperamental or anything, just drove it like it was a Volkswagen New Beetle.

@@TehZured : They're taking about production (production tires), as no tire today would pass DOT or US tire standards. Obviously there's cars that go faster via Boonville Flats, that are on tires, yet those tires would never pass as being sold to consumers (meet requirements).

To think the owner, who drove it to the track, had it modified to over 2500hp to reach the 300 mark. Thats at minimum 100 mph over the speced version of the showroom floor.
Ive read people say its a production car. No. Its not. However it is an owner modified STREET LEGAL road rocket. So this car is the current record holder for the fastest Standing Mile. From zero to "mach" in one mile. No other street legal car can claim this title. Plus the owner has held this on other previous speeds in the mile. No Euro trash can take that claim.
X3 UGR 3500whp version could potentially break this record with a proper gearbox, it did 260 in half mile this did 240. Now i know the lambo was redlining just after the half mile, so i said " POTENTIALLY"
