Aside from what he achieved in Thrust SSC, how about his ability to tell that story with so much imagery and detail!
Fun Fact: ThrustSSC is a British-designed and built World Land Speed Record car. ThrustSSC holds the current World Land Speed Record which was set on October 15, 1997, by accomplishing a speed of 763 mph. By doing so, the supersonic car became the first land vehicle to officially break the sound barrier.

Lol. But yeah we do have flying cars - they're called airplanes. And helicopters
Yes, we have flying cars. Take a look at Le Mans 1999!
They're coming.
DynamicGaming bahahaha. Flying car. Multiple times
I remember how they had to repair the cars between each attempts because the bodywork was near tearing off in a documentary about this run. This takes some serious courage. Most I went was 180 and my car started throwing off lights because I was in the final gear, and the oiling couldn't take it. (private decommissioned runway.) It was so much concentration even at that speed and micro corrections.
Except that never happened.
@@fdfsdfsvsfgsg4888 I remember a Discovery documentary where they were riveting panels back together after an attempt run. And you CAN'T gaslight me on this. It was what sparked my inspiration into car racing. They said that original rivets sometimes failed and they had to rejoin parts of the original bodywork.
I know Andy and he is a very calm, focused, ambitious and capable man. So pleased for him and the team.

The first thing downloaded to my first computer was footage of that run - download time measured in hours. The view was from the tail forward so I could look both over canopy and into engines. The compression of airflow defined and swept back with a howl as things went transonic. When engines shut down the shockwave appeared to quickly shove the car back. Alarms were heard. The one comment by Wing Commander Green (I love writing that) following his wrestling match to stay on course was something like, “Whew, that was a bit of a thing.” So dry, the British. Well done.
