- Hey, friends. Sorry for the rushed, unorganized video. Might help to watch the whole thing first.
Tools needed...
- Basic tool set, 15mm, 17mm, 21mm
- Special lug key(should be in car)
- Torque wrench(torque wheels to 90 ft. lbs)
- Jack and stands
For rear,
1. loosen lugs
2. lift car
3. remove wheels
4. loosen bottom strut bolts
5. jack up until springs are free(make sure not to lift under rear subframe, or the springs won't loosen)
6. Remove stock bushing
7. replace with spacer bushing.
8. reassemble
For front,
1. loosen lugs
2. Remove top strut mount nut and remove top plate
3. Remove the next nut behind/below it, which is for the top spring plate
4. jack up the car and remove wheel
5. Remove sway bar link bolt.
6. place spacer between bearing and spring plate(I believe).
7. push the strut back up and into place while using a jack under the control arm for control and spring compression. This part is tricky.
8. reassemble.
I'm sure I missed some things and/or made mistakes. Please correct me where possible.
I love the car and am slightly more confident now. I haven't noticed a change in fuel economy or the like.
Thanks for the video. May God bless you too friend
Do you know if this would be the same procedure for a 97 Cabrio? I need to re-install the original lift kit after the previous owner gave it like 2in of clearance from the ground.
Hey, brother! Sorry I missed you. Apparently I don't get most notifications. But, no, I couldn't say for sure, but should be similar
Hi did you run into any issues with not enough thread on the strut?
I can't recall...
It may be a matter of more compression.
What kit of spacers is this, where do I buy it
Just look up MK4 lift on Ebay. They should come up
