Don't just do 7empest if everyone starts yelling for it. Give it a month. Do a dozen more Tool tracks, then go ahead and get punched in the face properly. :)
Tool is and always will be my absolute #1 favorite. This song in particular... (over a year later) STILL melts my face and sends me into a breathtaking dopamine rush.🧡🧡
It’s not that Tool live versions suck, it’s THAT live version’s sound quality was terrible. Can’t wait until you do the live stuff from Salival EP, especially No Quarter and Pushit
wow you are really diving into TooL!! Welcome to the army!Descending is (imho) one of their most under appreciated yet top 3 songs of all time. With one of the top guitar sections of all time starting at about 6:30. It is amazing. And I’m a tool fan from the beginning. Welcome and keep them coming! Dive back into the old catalogue too!
Yessss.....a Pink Floyd reference. I have said for years that they are the Pink Floyd of modern rock/prog/metal(like Pink Floyd...you can't really corner them in a specofic genre. Pink Floyd and Tool...definitely my favorite all time bands🤘. They could possibly be imitated....never duplicated
Thanks for doing this one, it’s probably my favourite off the album. It’s most uplifting song I know about impending disaster, a proper call to arms. I hadn’t made the connection to Doves, but I can see it in this track now you’ve pointed it out. Keep doing these quality videos, cheers
My own interpretation of the lyrics is that its about them as a band. They knew how badly people wanted this album, how long it had been, how anticipated it was. This was their one shot to stay alive.
To me this song has a lot of the feel of the whole Salival album... Both Maynard's vocal tone and the bass, all of it really, but especially those two... This song grew on me incredibly... Appreciate the react.
InkFace the 7/8, 11/8, 9/8, 8/8, and 6/8 TIME SIGNATURES are mind blowing. I always enjoy watching someone head bobbing to the beat and getting completely lost. LOL ✌🤯
I'm glad you're giving the studio version a listen. I, too, was immediately disappointed you reacted to the live, especially considering this is, hands-down, my favorite song on this album.
Justin the bass player was in an English band called Peach before joining Tool. Tool played a cover of one of their songs called You Lied. It was put on a Tool album called Salival. Salival has live versions of a few songs along with other songs including a cover of Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter. Salival is a good chill album that Tool put out between Aenima and Lateralus. Check it out. The Peach cover includes Buzz from the Melvins on the guitar along with Adam.
The incredible thing is that Danny, Justin and Adam are able to accurately duplicate these layers of sound live. (Most live videos fail to convey that, but having seen them many times, they always bring their A game)
I think this song is now my favorite off the album... Goes back and fourth Invincible This or Title track I think FI don't get any respect but it's so good..
Mr. InkFace, Tool is that drink of water after a deadly, dehydrating walk through the Sahara Desert. All the music we bequeath as the greatest songs of all time--Stairway, Baba O'Reilly...whichever song or band you want to insert, Tool shatters the monotonous, formulaic prison that all the "classics" occupy. They are, in my not so humble opinion, the greatest collection of 4 musicians in Rock & Roll history.
Literally thrashed that Rockville Descending debut performance up until the album was released. Descending is just an epic track that'll last the test of time just like all of TOOL's music. If you want some light reading, a Reddit member found what Maynard's Descending lyrics referred to. It's scarily relatable to the world's current climate. www.reddit.com/r/ToolBand/comments/d1b768/falling_isnt_flying_descendings_literary/
Awesome. Thanks for listening to the studio. The only issue with the other was the sound quality from the phone that recorded the video. Otherwise, they are equally as amazing live as they are on album.
You have to listen to some Puscifer on this channel. They're more electronic/western than rock but it's Tool's singer. If you like Joji and Tool then you'll love Puscifer, kind of a blend of those styles. Kind of. The song "Horizons" seems like a good place to start.
I love Tool songs for the journey the music takes you on, then I would read the lyrics and listen again, then my brain exploded. If you think the music is good, dive into all the lyrics.
Maynard has such an incredibly beautiful Pen...so creative and so on POINT! I was so fortunate to see them twice on this Tour before COVID canceled everything😭. My favorite band for the past 25+ years!
Dude, if you like Maynard's style and vocals you should try out his other band A Perfect Circle. You may have heard of them before, but I just thought I'd suggest them 'cause I think you'd really like their work. Loving the Tool reactions, my man. Keep 'em coming and I'ma keep watching. 😁
People bringing up the Salival vibes but I think Pushit for example, is like a beta version for Right in Two, I think Salival as a whole is an experiment in preparation for 10,000 Days.
Hey Inky! Could you just repeat the bands namd and the titel you recommended? I didn´t get it right, I am afraid. The Doves - the sofa man ??? Could not find it. Keep on with Tool, love your videos!
Although TOOL is amazing live, many of the fan created YT videos just don't have good sound quality. Just like people always ask for the live Sober from 92 but it sucks (even though Maynard sounds good).
@@EiriUesugiKun sorry if I got the year off by one but point is the same. Maynard's performance is great the band sounds like shit. Not their fault. Just a bad recording.
Terrible video. Can't hear a word you're saying. Music is ok as far as volume but can't hear your comments. Probably should have previewed it before posting
Terrible comment no need to be so opinionated. Much nicer more informative ways to supply constructive criticism. Just try and be nice dude you will feel much better for it. Peace.
First time I heard this song was live. It is now my favorite song.
Chills... every... single... time
i love you. marry me and we can listen to them forever.
@@darinzaruba3996 well damn lol
I am so in love with this song. It is so damn epic! Like a modern day battle cry!
it essentially is a battlecry for humanity to wake from their complacent dormant revelry and realize what's going on with the world as a whole
Epic indeed! Pneuma and Descending are now my two favorite Tool songs and perhaps my two favorite songs by anyone, ever. Just incredible works of art!
Absolutely
Don't just do 7empest if everyone starts yelling for it. Give it a month. Do a dozen more Tool tracks, then go ahead and get punched in the face properly. :)
I second this.
Agreed.
Agreed, but he does have a large catalog to get through first. 7empest is like a "best of Tool" in one song, lol
Keep the Tool coming’ brother!!
Tool is and always will be my absolute #1 favorite.
This song in particular... (over a year later) STILL melts my face and sends me into a breathtaking dopamine rush.🧡🧡
Dude “Invincible” will blow you mind
It’s not that Tool live versions suck, it’s THAT live version’s sound quality was terrible. Can’t wait until you do the live stuff from Salival EP, especially No Quarter and Pushit
Pushit live is possibly the only track that is 10 times better than the studio version. CO-SIGNED.
Thanks for great reactions. Do the whole Tool discography!

Danny Carey is the best EVER and i dont know who does the mixing for Tool but DAMN.. it is a next level for most bands/studios
What a fucking song! What a fucking band!!! Thank you sir!
I take these instrumentals all day long
13:13 is the end of the grudge. I love the call back to lateralus

Songs like this is why they have 5 albums in 30 yrs. Fkn epic
Right in Two...Epic
Nice. ✌
You're a true man of the people :)
InkFace TOOLs recording engineer
Joe Barresi is amazing. ✌

Awesome. Thanks for listening to the studio. The only issue with the other was the sound quality from the phone that recorded the video. Otherwise, they are equally as amazing live as they are on album.
Notice the calling Cormorant at the end of the beach scene, but it's alternating

My neighbors hate me when I play this song.
The doves? The sulphur man got it
InkFace you need some early TOOL. Jerkoff, Swamp song, Crawl away, Opiate, Undertow. Enjoy the ride. ✌

React to Invincible please!
A Geordie with a man bun... but heck I love this guy's reactions
the distorted lyrics...
1st one
Heedless in our slumber
Floating nescient we...
2nd one
Falling isn't flying
Floating isn't infinite
Although TOOL is amazing live, many of the fan created YT videos just don't have good sound quality. Just like people always ask for the live Sober from 92 but it sucks (even though Maynard sounds good).
I've only seen Sober live from '93 and that one is good. Video quality is what it is, but other than that one of the best live recordings. :)

I dont understand English English, I understand American English
could barely hear you in this one man
