Lmao honda
Toyotas used to fail these tests so bad lmao
Lol the prius was worst In 2012
Lmao! 🤣
2018 hyundais are dangerous
My family bought this vehicle in July and I had a bad accident on thanksgiving driving it when someone ran a red light and hit the passenger side where my dad was sitting it tore the whole front end off broke the windshield and windows and I was hit with several airbags. Thankful to be alive!
omg, sorry to hear that. at least you're ok. stay safe m8

@@nnedyarb beg me pardon?
I wish i could go back in time to before i saw this video.
Why
@@swishswoosh6556 thats an awful crash test ? lol
same bruh
holy crap my mom used to have this car....so glad we never had a crash this bad.
2014 the structure was improved for the driver side, further improvement came with the 2015 facelift, passenger-side also got improved when the 2018 platform change
Whatever the case may be understand small overlap is still a very tough test not aiming at previously more focused central crash structure. At 1.5 tons the Camry also have an inherent advantage against cars lighter.
Not to say there wasn't safer cars 2012-2014 (there were plenty) but Camry could've been worse and Toyota fixing the product places them above some competitors
Still got a top safety pick somehow
@@zakariyabaksh9572 Didn't expect to see you here lol I watch a lot of IIHS vids.
Pretty impressive that it has a low injury measure considering the structure...
All respect I feel this super small overlap isn’t the most likely crash I think the 50 % overlap made more sense
well the 2018 camry is good for new drivers or even teenagers
this crash looks really painful...
This car should receive a 3 star crash rate for this. The A Pillar is smashed BADLY
You mean marginal/acceptable but I'd give it a poor
my mum got t-bone in her 2013 camry glad that she was ok!
This was filmed prior to the car being publicly released, the fixed the problem before putting it out to the public.
Untrue, it seems the first 2 years had the poor rating but they upgraded the car afterwards and got acceptable
@@zzoinks I can assure you this is accurate information, I used to sell them brand new and owned one myself. It was my first dream car and safety was of importance to me and I know each one in and out.
So 2007 year camry safer than 2012?
nope it isnt since the camry 2007 got good on moderate the 2012 is poor since its small overlap where no energy absorbing structures so and also the 2012 passes the moderate overlap and side tests
The 2007 Camry was never evaluated in this test as it hadn't been introduced yet. Both the 2007 and 2012 Camrys scored good ratings in the less challenging moderate overlap crash test.
From what I know is that the 2012 Lexus ES 350 got a poor rating in the small overlap test. The moderate overlap and side impact tests the ES went through also apply to the 2007-11 Toyota Camry, so if the Lexus ES got a poor, your 2007 Camry is also gonna do poor in the small overlap test
@@dnl4ever666 but ES250 is basically a Toyota Avalon (camry but longer)
@@iihs-hldi thank you for your answer
You know the crash test is worse when the dummy starts getting frustrated about the airbag. 😭
Poor on the passenger side for 2012-17 models as well since the passenger side wasn't changed
that staid solid slab will destroy anything accept a tank perhaps....well maybe a tank will ripped apart...not sure which car had that strength as that solid 'thing'....
The dummy's head slid off the airbag, just like in the Chrysler Town & Country.
@@marvinthemaniac7698 nissan quest did even worse

La puerta solo de infla como una vieja
The Uber Queen gets a Poor rating!
Yes
Still top safety pick
Los camry antiguos eran mejores este tiene una grave deformación en la cabina lo cual desvía el Airbag del conductor por el impacto.
my family have this car a gray color and not the same year. It is the 2013
the 2014s got safety upgrade so oof
0:34 WTF, where is my airbag?
That's not good.
They opened the comments? Amazing
Problem 1 is the car when crash the steering wheel rotation then also the steering wheel move to the side than the dummy not get reach of the airbag
Camry is going poor I gonna tell them buy camry 2012 WARNING WHEN TEST IS POOR
@@endermanbokchenkhai2023 Just tell ‘em to get a 2014 much better
@@zakariyabaksh9572 alr thz
I'm surprised that after this crash, the driver will still be alive, it's just the driver had a minor injury to the leg.
"minor injury" Bro the hinge pillar movement can probably cause a broken leg.
@@vxllfire I only said minor injury because the leg had an Acceptable rating. Marginal or Poor would have a major injury to the leg and a Good would have no injury at all.
@@porothepotato Oh, i checked the website, it was the structure and the restraints that were the issue.
My family owns this.
Same!
Rip
Yup! I’m dead lol 😂

I thought toyotas are hard to kill
they are hard to kill...
@@Hii..289 Well explain the damage?
@@SpongeBobMeBoy6153 not this model probably
the 2016 one was OK and they new ones are even better
😮
Failed
Still has a top safety pick
THAT’S AWFUL WTF! I have this car 😟
Since I'm 16 I'm looking a crash test to see my next car I want the safest as possible seems like newer cars are getting more and more weaker
@@warlordartist4966 No actually newer cars are getting stronger and stronger. This video is a 2012 Toyota Camry.

@@lucidsalt4116 i got a 2012 camry😐
Literally just cheap plastic
Pretty much most modern cars, if the passanger compartments was to buckle probably better being smacked in the face with plastic trim then being cut in half by a metal dashboard
اخ
I'm just here to revisit this absolute travesty of a crash test result.
These tests are so BS rarely if ever are you going to hit a a object that doesn't budge unless it's a tree and at this angle the car will spin around.
You are BS.
Just incase
2500 deaths a year from this very type of impact.
