      I am thinking of buying, did they hold up well after the first 50? I have seen that a lot of people say the outsole is bad, but stops getting worse; is that true?

    Ran about 300 miles in the Rincon so far and would totally echo your comments. The shoes have felt better and better the more i run in them. The shoe it reminds me of, and this is showing my age, is the Nike Terra T/C which was some kind of magical piece of foot equipment. I would say that the Rincon is one of the best shoes I have ever worn.

    Just found your channel! Great stuff! I love the Rincon. I have about 250 miles on mine, and think they’ll get to 300-350 miles as the outsole is pretty worn and I can feel the midsole starting become “spongy”. But for the price point I’m happy with that kind of mileage. 👍

      Run 4 Adventure - I’m sold on these Rincon’s. I’ve never ran in Hoka’s before until now. Previously, I’ve been running with Newton Gravity’s. Hoka is much easier on my knees and lower back. I could tell after my first run. So much so, I already bought myself a second pair. Loving it. Keep up the great videos.

    This review and comments are the first I’ve seen that praise the Rincon at/after 200 miles. I loved mine but they went flat at 180 miles. Many other have said the same. It sounds like you are much less sensitive to midsole flattening. I have to say I must really grit my teeth to buy another pair. I truly love Hoka, have owned 19 pairs, but they have to fix the midsole durability! Currently run in Clifton 6 and Mach 2 along with NB Beacon.

      Hi Eric
      Thanks for watching the review 👍
      Really? I actually manage an independent running shop and we've sold lots of Rincons, to runners of all shapes and sizes and I haven't heard that from any one? I've heard nothing but positive feedback from everyone. That's definitely not happened to mine, they still run great! I've been running in Hokas for 7 years on road and trail and covered 1000's of miles and I've never felt that happen? Obviously as runners we are all definitely, different weights, different foot strikes and we break shoes down differently 👍
      Hope you enjoyed the review 😊

      Run 4 Adventure yes I did enjoy the review, especially with this different experience. I thought I may have gotten a faulty pair but have found lots of similar comments from other reviewers and commenters to include FOD Runner in UK and commenters on Kofuzi and Seth DeMoors reviews. I really do hope I am wrong but given other comments I’m not optimistic. Then again you have more direct experience with the shop.

      I’ve also heard the Rincon doesn’t last very long, which I can believe having run in the Clifton 6 which flattened out after 300 miles. I’m relatively light and light on my feet:

    I have the Rincon with about 70km and I can say that they are one of the best asphalt shoes, if not the best, that I have had in my life. They manage to combine three tremendously difficult things: cushioning but with response, simply perfect upper fit and little weight. That makes it a tremendously versatile shoe with which you can do everything on asphalt.
    Ginger Runner just did a you tube review of the Rincon 2 and says he prefers 1. The 2 has a denser upper than the Clifton so it is not as light as 1, and takes longer to adapt to the foot It also makes it warmer (where I live in the South of Spain that is not a good idea). As it says, it is worth waiting for 3 to see if they improve the sole.
    I suggest you try the Brooks Divide, it is like the Rincon, a Trail shoe that has it all. It has surprised me greatly for trail running. And on top of that it has a great price. The problem is that it does not have the fame of Cascadia, but in my humble opinion, it has nothing to envy.
    Thanks for the video!

      Hi Alvaro
      Thanks for watching and I totally agree the Rincon is a great shoe! One of the best I've had and believe me I've run in a lot of different shoes over the years 😊
      Yes the Divide is an interesting shoe from Brooks at a great price. I work in the running industry and I was really surprised by it to, it's been a popular shoe for Brooks 😊
      I've seen the Rincon 2 and it's really not a massive change to the upper! I could hardly notice the difference really. I don't think it'll run that much hotter so you should be fine with it 👍 Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the review 🙏

    quick update: my Rincons are now in ~450mi. That's basically the end of them. The upper is still perfectly fine, but the sole is shredded almost flat and the foam is also worn/pressed down. At the mid/forefoot contact, where most of the sole is gone (even part of the rubber surface), now the shoe tends to bend more flexible than the rest. The shoes is noticeable not that firm and boncy any more. I can say that I enjoyed the Rincon so much, that I ordered 2 more pairs. One for training and one pair to save for the net major raceday, for the rest of the year. I truely hope that the next version of the Rincon will be as good, because none of my other shoes performed so great (HokaCarbonx, BrooksGlycerin, BrooksAsteria, HokaTorrent)

    Great review. Are you still holding on to your original Rincon and what is the mileage now? Really surprised it can last so long for you. Mine the midsole just went dead after 200 miles. It gave me shin pain if I continue wearing it. I stopped, recovered, wore other shoes no problem, came back to the Rincon, shin injured again immediately. I quickly threw my pair away. The shoes really matter for me to remain injury free.

      I've still got my original Rincons, I don't run them anymore but not because I couldn't but I've got the new Rincon 2's so I tend to use them. I've done a good 450-500 miles in them and I could definitely still run in them 😊
      Have you had your running gait looked at before? Are you sure your gait is neutral? If it's not the Rincon is soft and deeply cushioned and might run unstable which could cause the midsole to break down quickly? 🤔
      Just a thought but it might be worth checking especially if you're getting shin pain. What's the other shoe you run in that doesn't give you shin pain?

      I recon ill get a good 500 miles out of the shoe 👍 You're right about the Rincon 2 pretty much the same shoe, which I'm very happy about. Thanks for watching the review and commenting. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel to keep up to date with future content 🙏

    Hello! I'm thinking between the rincon vs carbon rocket. But I'm still undecided what to get. My criteria is just to get a faster shoes without compromising the durability.

      They're both fast shoes! Obviously the Carbon Rocket is stiffer because of the Carbon plate in the midsole so it might run a bit quicker 🤔

    Great review. I’ve got a pair of Rincons and found them a little tight in the upper but no discomfort. I’m surprised and confused about ‘retiring’ of shoes. You said you’ve ran 700+ miles in some. What’s your opinion on retiring shoes and when to do so? Eg 400-500 miles as most suggest. I ask as i got injured and retiring them before they go, could prevent injury which is what I blame my injury on.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Owen 👍
      Yep the Rincon is quite narrow in the toe box but a great shoe 😊
      When it comes to the distance you get out of your shoes it is very personal. I tend to stick to around 450-500 miles in my road shoe but I have had shoes that I've got more out of. It's a bit different when it comes to my trail shoes, I've had lots of trail shoes that I've taken over 500 miles because the terrain is so much more forgiving! 😊
      To be honest it's very rare for an injury to be caused by just a shoe. It tends to be several things that lead to an injury, over training, no strength work, the body maintenance (stretching /rolling /massage) as runners we put way to much effervescence on shoes being the cause of everything 😊
      At the end of the day its just a pair of shoes 👍
      Hope this helps 🙏

    I love the concept of Hokas but I tried speedgoats and they trashed my feet under the arches and just trying on other styles I can feel the seam of upper and midsole just behind the ball of the foot so wont risk them again. Shame as trying them on I love the cushioning

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому

      Yep unfortunately Hokas don't work for everyone Ian 😕
      I know of a lot of runners who have the same issues with the brand!
      I hope you've found a shoe that does work for you and thanks for watching 🙏

      The rincons and beacons are my favorite lightweight versatile trainers... with that said, if you want a lot of cushioning and arch support, I’d recommend looking at Nike infinity reacts. They are a little heavier then the Clifton’s but they feel lighter, have the hoka style rocker and much more bouncy then any HOKA’s I’ve ran in.

    Spot on. Just retired mine at 250 miles though due to the lateral outsole wear. I was starting to get some discomfort on the side of my legs after doing longer runs in the shoe.
    I was also very disappointed to see that the Rincon 2 hasn't got any additional rubber on the outsole as I was sure that they would fix this problem 😢
    However, I will definitely buy another pair soon as they are the best road shoe I have found for me and if I can get some on sale anytime soon they will still be a bargain for my longer steady runs as I can't do without them now 😊

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому +1

      I know Mark I was disappointed to! I definitely thought they'd put a bit more rubber on the sole? 🤔
      I've still got a 200-300 miles in mine but once they go I'll definitely buy another pair 👍
      I'm sure the Rincon 3 will have a bit more rubber 🤞 Hope you enjoyed the review and thanks for watching the channel 🙏

      That's awesome David, really glad you found us! 👍
      The Carbon X is a very different shoe that takes a bit of getting use to. I personally would choose the Rincon and I've actually run a couple of Marathons in it and it performed really well 👌

      If you mean would the Rincon be softer than the Carbon X then yes. The Rincon isn't as soft as say the Clifton but it's got a nice level of cushioning but it's still really responsive 👍
      Thanks so much for your Sub and enjoy the videos! 🙏

    What in your opinion is the best road running shoe?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  3 роки тому

      It's such a personal thing a running shoe Anik. It depends on how you run and move through you Gait cycle, heel striker, forefoot etc. Also the shape of your foot and if you like firm shoes, soft shoes, the list goes on. The best thing to do is go to a good running specialist shop and speak to them and try lots of different shoes on 👍
      but if you can't do that here's a list of consistent performing shoes 😊
      Brooks Ghost 13/14 neutral
      Nike Pegasus 38 neutral
      Hoka Mach 4 neutral
      Saucony Ride 14 neutral
      Hoka Clifton 8 neutral
      New Balance 1080v11 neutral
      New Balance 860 structured
      Saucony Guide 14 structured
      Asics Kayano lite 2 structured

    I know it’s a neutral shoe, but does it provide _any_ stability? I typically need at least some stability. Hoping it has just enough stability for me to give it a try.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Simon
      It's definitely just a neutral shoe but Hokas have quite a wide base and quite a bit of rigidity through the midfoot. Your also slightly sunk into the midsole so you have a slight guide rail in the shoe. What would you normally run in shoe wise? Also Hoka do make shoes with structure in, the Arahi 4 is a pretty good shoe 👍

    Im not used to shoes with a lot of cushion and trying to decide between the rincon and clifton for my long runs (10-13 miles). Any advice? Will the clifton have too much cushion?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому

      Hi John
      Cushioning really is a personal thing but I'd say if you not use to a lot of cushioning in your shoe then the Rincon is the better option 👍
      I personally think it's the better shoe as well, I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed running in the Rincons! 😊
      It's lighter, more responsive and more comfortable than the Clifton 👍 Good luck with your shoe choice, hope this helps and thanks for watching the review. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel to keep up to date with future content 🙏

      Run 4 Adventure sweet! Thank you. I was leaning towards the rincon but ive also heard theyre better for up to 7 mile runs. I think that’s more for people who really focus on time and training though. I dont think itll make a difference for me as I try different shoes a lot and am pretty used to adapting to them

    Hi, how does the RINCON compare to the BONDI 6?

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  4 роки тому

      Hi Louis
      I'd definitely recommend the Rincon before the Bondi! The Rincon is super lightweight, really responsive and it still has a nice level of cushioning. The Bondi is a bit to heavy, a bit to bulky and very soft! It's OK for slow recovery runs but a part from that it's not that responsive. Hope this helps and don't forget to subscribe to our channel to keep up to date with future content 👍

      I've had the Rincons for a month and done over 150 miles in them. Durability doesn't seem that bad and they haven't gone flat (like some reviewers sat they do). The shoes are very narrow, though, and I had to switch to better insoles to avoid getting blisters on the sides of my feet. I have the 1080v10s which I really like, but I tend to grab the Rincons or Pegasus 37s for most runs.
