I thought I was the only one who felt that way about Merino. Love wearing it around the house and out and about, but as soon as I heat up, I get itchy. My neon green arm sleeves are arriving today and can’t wait to try them on a run. Stay safe and happy running y’all! 🏃🏻♀️👟🎃👻🌈
Great Video! The suspense of something scary going to happen had me on my toes. Had to rewind a few times to get the info on the items. Happy Halloween!
Some excellent suggestions here, Loyd: thanks so much! I have taken the plunge with two items you suggested, and am very pleased! Wishing you and Liga happy winter running. I don’t know if you’re coming up for Hurtwood 50k this year, but I will keep an eye. I am missing it this year as I am running the Winter Downs 100, which should be - fun!
Thank you, I’m glad you think so! Unfortunately we won’t be making the trip up to Hurtwood this year, it’s a long way to drive and we’re super busy at the channel. Hope your winter 100 miler goes well and thanks for supporting the channel, it’s really appreciated as always 🙂🙏
Cheers for the recommendations Loyd. My R4A Multiwrap is currently doing a great job of helping keep the cold off my chest during these colder evenings 👌🏻
A variation on the top half using Saysky gear I like is one of their mesh tank/vest layers under a SS t-shirt with arm sleeves. Can add a windproof gilet if needed.
GoreTex stopped making ShakeDry because it’s so bad for the planet. Sadly the replacements are no way near as good. Hang on to that jacket for as long as you can.
Love your videos, but as someone that suffers from the cold, particularly my hands as I have raynauds, I’m definitely going to check those gloves out 👍
I got a usb handwarmer last winter which helped a lot. For me once the blood was flowing again I was fine (unless it was super cold) but the trick was catching it straight away so I basically carried it with me all the time. Also, for a cheaper alternative, decathlon do ones like these (not tried them in the cold yet - but they feel warm).
@@mebdev over the years I have bought a stack of different kind of gloves with varying results, but this year I also bought myself a couple of usb hand warmers and, oh boy what a game changer for when you are at a start of a long run or even a race. Like you, once the blood is flowing I am fine but nothing more miserable than having freezing cold fingers 😥🥶
I'm hoping a brand will release a great new head torch. I have the fenix like you and it ticks every box except it's so front heavy it bounces around so much. I also don't always want to wear a beanie as my head gets so hot and sweaty. I'd love Fenix to release a version with the battery pack at the back but with all the same performance stats. With burn time being my priority as I need to be able to run right through the night ideally
There’s lots of running head torches on the market that have the battery and the light unit separated. I’d take a look at Petzl, Moonlight, Silva and Black diamond 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏
I gotta admit, when I saw the light flickering I thought….ah Lloyd is messing with us and a monster or maybe “the shape” was gonna pop up behind the couch….and there was…The Saysky Monster attacks!! LOL Happy Halloween 2024!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃
I’ve used the Fenix HM65R-T for around 3 years now, I didn’t switch from the NU43? They’re both good running headphones torches but I personally prefer the Fenix unit 👍 I’ve not tried the Petzl torch 🤔
@ I don’t have any issues with bouncing. Like I said in the video, I always wear a beanie hat or a buff under my headtorch and it stops any movement or bouncing 👍
@@Run4Adventure You're using HM65R-T V2. To me on paper it looks like a downgrade to the V1 because you can' t use the flood and the spotlight simultaneously? Whats is you thought about that?
Thank god no Halloween. I hate horror and last time i looked at the one with the head torches, it scared me so much i couldnt even finish the video. Somehow, I dont trust you at all I wont be scared to death later in the video (currently 2 min in)
@Run4Adventure I get too warm when I am running so never wear a jacket even in the rain because skin dries quicker then clothing and still in short sleeves stuff must be a Southern thing to wear a jacket when it's cold and wet.
@@jonathanfletcher7332 I only wear a jacket if I’m out on the trails or in the mountains and it’s bad weather. If you’re running in a challenging environment and you’re going to be out for 5,6,7 hours then you’re going to need a quality waterproof jacket. Obviously if I’m just going out on a short run I won’t bother. I’m not sure it’s a ‘Southern’ thing, I think it’s a sensible thing 👍🙂
@@Run4AdventureI have to take my waterproof jacket off even on my longer run in winter because I sweat so much when I run and even a hat and gloves as well have to come off as well on my longer runs. If is below 5'c I will wear winter kit etc.
I have autism I done 100 km at 7hours and 54 minutes my friend said that was slow he never ran 100 km in he's life so he shouldn't judge your expert at utra running so is my time slow be honest with me
Running and Halloween stuff in the same video? Yes!! ❤

Great work Lloyd. Love watching your videos. I really hope those gloves come back in stock.
Thanks Alex, really glad you’re enjoying the content on the channel 👍🙂
Superb job guys!! 😂😂 Came for the winter running gear, stayed for the scary bits 🎃 👻

Wow that was so cool and creative!

Great video, awesome recommendations for the brrrrrr months 🥶

I live in Brittany and have actually been looking forward to running in the cold again. 🎉
... That baselayer looks amazing. Will check it out.
Enjoy the cold Grant and thanks for watching 🙏🎃

The SAYSKY mesh baselayers are really good, I’ve got the tank and the long sleeve Nick! You are right, the tank works well under a tech tee 👍🙂
Thanks Loyd, I wonder what kind of winter we will be in for, was quite mild in the west country last year, but very windy and wet!
Let’s hope it’s a dry one with no wind! 🤞
I think that’s wishful thinking but we live in hope 😜
Stay safe Loyd, look forward to next years extravaganza! 🧌😈
Cheers Tony! You wait, you’ll need a cushion to hide behind next year 🎃
Lol, can't resist another Halloween video mate.
Cheers Rob, hope you enjoy it! 🎃🙂
Very good Loyd very good 👍
Glad you enjoyed it mate 🙂🎃
¡¡¡¡¡Happy Halloween!!!!. Like to Run4adventure. Cheers.
Happy Halloween Manuel 🎃🙂
Great video Lloyd
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 🎃
What brand is your gilet? And what size arm sleeve do you wear? Thanks for all the great video and support for trail runners around the world.
I tend to wear a SAYSKY Gilet in a medium and I’ve got their arm sleeves in S-M 👍
Hope this helps Chris and thanks for watching 🙏🙂
Thanks Loyd great video as ever those Saysky gloves with mitts are no longer available thinks I
Thanks Tom, really glad you enjoyed the video! I’m sure they’ll have them back in stock soon 🤞
Great video, some great advice 👌
But did you have scare me just before bed 🤣
Sorry Stephen! Thanks for watching, glad you found it helpful 🙏🎃
GoreWear makes the Shakedry now (R7 Shakedry trail hooded jacket).

Hate GoreTex stuff.
That’s what I thought James 👍
It is a shame because you’re right, the replacements aren’t as good 🤔

My prediction for your next video is: Trailtalon first run 😊
I am interested in these given how muddy and wet the ground already is!
Maybe 😜
@Run4Adventure so good I watched it twice! Acting is coming along nicely too!
😂😂😂😂😂 Brilliant, and some great stuff.

No links list for the recommended kit? I am lazy 😂
Why you switched from the Nitecore NU43 to the fenix? Is it better? Did you compare these withe the Petzl Nao RL?

Don't you wear any hi vis stuff running in the dark
Most of my winter kit has hi viz on it already and I tend to spend most of my time on the trails away from the roads in winter 👍

We don't AAAAALLLL start pulling on the layers. There's a few people living in the Southern Hemisphere hoping for a bit of that cooler weather
I realise that but this was a video for viewers going into cold, wet, dark winter 👍 Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 🙂

Your doing great 7.6 miles per hour and pos later a you get into the late mileage

All a bit pricey to be honest. £280 for a jacket 🫣🫣🫣
