Absolutely agree with Steve R that you are a top gear reviewer and this was a great review, camera is incredible. I like this bag but agree on the position of that grab handle being too much in the middle especially for grab and go and hanging off of broken tree branches. Thanks Tim!!
Thank you for watching! Very much appreciated. Absolutely great pack but that grab handle just isn't working for me, wish it was located closer to the back of the pack. However there are ways around that. I'm so impressed with this camera, I plan on using it a long time. Hopefully Canon plans on keeping around for an even longer time.
Your one of the top reviewers for gear, I really enjoy watching your videos keep it up......I can see your point with the top handle not the best design ......Stay Safe.
Hi Tim, the trend seems to be organisation these days, with more and more pockets, webbing, zippers everywhere. It all adds to the weight and if you're on a long hike where the bag may be fully loaded most of the pockets become redundant. Sure you know what I mean. The Rush packs get it just about right. Enough pockets, ability to add pouches etc etc. Just my opinion. p.s. That tiny camera of yours is doing a great job.
So I know that this is a super old video, but my kid is extremely tough on her backpacks for school. Would you recommend this for a kid as a school backpack to carry their school laptop and books pencils notebooks the whole shebang? My kids old backpacks always go out at the shoulder straps the handles and anything that's mesh. So I'm wanting something that's super durable that might last her through high school lol
Hatch61 Thank you Hatch! Hope all is well down there on the water, nicer weather is coming my friend. We definitely need to set up a day I could come down and hang out.
Great review! New subscriber!Just bought the 5.11 all hazards. Would like to know where I can get the small bags you demonstrated for your meds and the dry packs. I am a FCC licensed radio operator and need dry packs for connectors, cables, etc for field operations. Thanks!
You certainly could, I have and had no problems. Usually I just use a wash cloth or sponge with some dish soap and wipe it clean. I would just spot clean it that way but I rarely clean my packs.
I'm sorry I don't understand your question. Are you asking which MOAB I would recommend to use with the AH Prime backpack? I'd suggest pairing the 6 with this backpack because the 10 is almost the same size. Hope this helps.
@@Joker-ms4iu They're not a bad brand, I just feel 511 is much better quality. Vanquest is of course at the top of my list. There's some very good reasons why several people left Maxpedition and started the Vanquest brand. It's better on every level. 511 being a close second.
Like you, I to am the proud owner of the Rush 12, 24, and 72. This is an absolute great pack, but for my photography/videography needs, I’ll stick with the Rush Moab 8 with the Hazard 4 insert. Great review, my man. 🍻
I bought this bag and it’s great, but I want a waist strap and oddly 511 don’t seem to do one, even though the pack has attachment points. The one on the rush 72 isn’t detachable, so can’t utilise that, any ideas???
The waist belt for this pack is rather small, it's not for holding or supporting any weight... mostly just to keep the pack from moving around and keep it tight against the body. I'm not sure if 511 sells the belt separately. If not, I'm sure other backpack brands offer a belt that would work perfectly.
I believe the belt on my 24 (I don't use backpack belts) will fit the Hazard Prime. If you're in the US I'll send it to you if I can figure out where it is. Shoot me an email to support@tacticaldefender.com if you're interested.
Could I travel Europe or SEAsia with this bag for 3 months? I'm currently using a 40L, and this looks to be about 29L... though it lays out fantastic it seems? What are your thoughts? Plenty doable, or am I trippin? Haha. Thanks!
Thank you my friend but my wife won't fly, she's not a big traveler and we now have two little boys as well. Before I met my wife I dated a woman from Frankfurt who was getting her Phd here in the states, we would go over there for 4 to 6 weeks at a time every year around the holidays, this was 17 years ago. Traveled all over while we where there, lots of amazing times. Her best friend lived in Geneva Switzerland so we spent time there, skied in France, walked through the Black Forest, spent time at her parents summer home in the Netherlands and walked through more castles than I can remember. The best time was bringing in the new millennium in Berlin, memories I'll never forget. As with everything else nothing lasts forever and our time together came to an end.
Hey Tim, just watch your video great video by the way, I was wondering, wich pack do you prefer for a Get Home bBag or kinda EDC bag? Rush 24 or All Hazard Prime? You say its similar, but wich one you like and prefer most? Greetings from all the way to Mexico.
This definitely wouldn’t be my first choice if I was looking for a pack for school, or taking classes anywhere. I’d go with a pack from Vanquest, the organization is far better, especially if you’re carrying a laptop, the quality is just as good if not better.
I do have them on my list of reviews to do, maybe some day I'll do it. They are the 24-7 Series® Tactical Pant from Tru-Spec, it's all I wear. year round, every day and I even have the shorts. lol Thought about buying some more because when I bought them I was about 280 lbs and now I'm down to about 230lbs so these are a bit baggy on me. I highly recommend them. I like the cargo pockets and especially the designated knife pocket for my EDC folder.
Decent review but it's rather long. IMO it would better if you just show the pack and it's features instead of the little stories opinions and tidbits. Not being a jerk, but really I don't need to know the 5 things you use wipes for.. just show the pack lol, Just show the pack. I'm are we can all figure out what to put in it. Clamshell open scene was great. Don't need to know what's in your pouches, just show them and move on, stop with the recommendations what you can put it in there, just show the pack. Grateful for the review, but just as grateful for the fast forward button.
TheTacticalDefender thank you as well. I appreciate your response and not cutting me for mine. To each his own right? UA-cam life is tough I'm sure, so I hope you know I'm not trying to be an jerk just my offering my opinion. This is your channel so do as you want :-) you obviously have 9K subscribers so something is working. Honestly I feel like you could be even more popular; I say that because you're obviously extremely thorough, and you are reviewing important gear that people want to see. In a world fast approaching 2018 though, in 22 minutes I'd hope to get a stock tip along with personal interviews of the people who handmade it lol... you get what I'm saying. Again just my opinion, clearly your 9K base enjoys it. But I wonder if it could be higher? 18K? 50K? Or more? Your potential is endless. I wonder if perhaps you shortened it to 15 (or heck closer to 10!) if it would increase the viewing rate and finishing rate. (I know you see all of those statistics). That's for you to decide, because again it's your channel ;) Personally I really wanted to watch more, I really did! It was just way too long and loquacious for me. Looks like you have some other good videos too so I'll check out more. Regardless of which way you take it, best of luck to you thanks for aiding to the gear community. Cheers
Mj - Thank you my friend, I do appreciate your advice. I'm just over a million views and I think maybe about 10 others mentioned the same thing as yourself, so I really never given it much thought. I have such little time to get out and do the reviews nowadays you'd think I'd work at making them shorter and easier. Certainly something I'll look into trying. Once again, thank you . Awesome video, love the outro and this convinced me to finally buy the bag!
Holy cow, you can fit a ton of stuff in that pack. Thanks for the tour, very thorough.

which is better between this one and the rush 24 2.0 for you ?

@@jeremyindignoux9728 24 hands down. I sold this soon after reviewing it but I still have two 24’s. That says it all. 😉

Great review buddy. This bag looks like something you would get if the 511 Rush 24 and the Vanquest Trident 20 had a baby!
Mostly Day Hiking Yes! Exactly. Thanks for the visual. lol Hope all is well on your end.

Hey Tim great video thanks for uploading! Can I ask what’s your favourite EDC bag please?
Just watched this video.can you attach a water bottle pouch on the side of it or is it not wide enough for that?
You can attach a water bottle holder to the side.
