I'm enrolled in SDI. You really helped me out with me project. I did have some rolling but I'm pretty sure it was from me not letting the film not hydrate enough.
Thank you . Over the last couple of days , i've been trying to dip a dashboard component , in preparation for the main event , a much larger radio panel (i converted it to double din). I've been struggling with a few issues , which i figured was down to too much activator . I was also wondering if the water i was using was too hot as well . Just watched two of your videos , and have had both questions answered , so you get a big thumbs up from me . Thirty seconds of this video , showed exactly the problem i have , i don't think you need to know what the first one was . Now armed with this information , tomorrow i'll be preparing the test piece for dipping on Wednesday . But first , i'm off to watch your activator video , to see if i can pick up any more tips . But before i do , once again Thank you ...
Been watching a lot of your videos. Some great content for sure. I’ve been debating going to a shop to dip an RC transmitter or do it myself using tips by shown by you. Keep up the great content. You’re one of the best teachers here on tube. ✌️
Thanks for all the content here and patreon. Been working on my UA-cam certification 😜 I've been looking around how to dip rims with fake bead locks. I've never tried it but figured the the fake bead lock would cause water to pour over lip n cause a rip making a gap or be really blown out.
Keep working on it, you will get your UA-cam certification soon enough! LOL The bead locks usually blow out around the fake beads. Depedning on the pattern sometimes you can touch them up with an airbrush and it wont look too bad.
So I deffo need some dams made up for my home made tank. Been taping my films🙄. First time I dipped the film came apart, hence the reason why I taped it up 🤣. The film needs to stretch and absorb. Can't do that with tape on. Wicked advise. You and Brian at liquid concepts are professionals at what you do. Great full for all the content you both upload. 👍🏼
Your videos have helped me a lot bro, just barely starting haven't actually dipped before. I'm gonna dip 2 pair of white DC's, should be cool, I won't tape the sides even though that's how I've seen many people do it, the tape damn seems like a bit of a pain in the ass though.
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out in the bloopers, but change "ums" into "and" to help you segway to your next comment. Just a little trick this Grandma was taught. BTW, I'm learning so I can trick out my golf cart.😂 Thank you for your expertise.
Great video. I can attest that dams with no tape gets better quality dip. I just finished dipping 150 deer skulls and to not tape them on that scale is impossible. Anyway I’m tired of fighting films roll up on themselves and water coming over the tape trying to get rid of bubbles. It was a pleasure to dip an AR and using dams today.
Well it looks like you’re right, do UA-cam Nazis also unsubscribed me as well. I’m now resubscribe because I love watching these videos. I’ve been practicing doing the Hydro dipping and pulling my hair out and a lot of your tips of helped greatly. Keep up the good work.
Yup they have been doing that to a lot of my followers, hence why none of my videos get watched anymore. I'm apparently on the youtube naughty list lol
When hydro dipping do you always dip in the middle of if the film or can you dip from beginning of the film.i. trying to dip a tumbler and get all like clumpy on the cup and don't stick and it fall off
Hi, I have a question. I want to dip my sportster gas tank. One side then the other an both sides is 12"s tall 19 "s long. My film is a roll 20" × 6 ft how big of a piece of film should I use per side? Thanks in advance
I know this is a couple years old, I'm having a helluva problem with my film curling/rolling up along the sides. It's taking off about 2 inches on each side. Can you please tell me what is causing this? Many thanks.
This was very helpful...I have 2 questions. How long after you spray the activator can you dip the object? Also, do you need a base color spray paint on the object before dipping? (For a glass object)
Great video! I have a few questions. Can you print the images on hydrodipping film using a home printer or is their a special type of ink/printer thats need?
Any idea why I don't get notifications of your videos? I like your content and recieve notifications from everyone else so I have to manually check your channel.
Because youtube hates me for doing gun content. Thousands of my subscribers don't get notifications and they mysteriously get "unsubscribed" overnight. Guess I pissed off the youtube gods cough**cough**shadow***ban***cough.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics sounds like UA-cam needs just the tip... it's a great source for information but also has a lot of issues. I'll subscribe to your patron once I get back stateside but have you ever thought of doing a Skillshare or Master Class video? I'm sure it'll be a hit.
I’ve been trying to dip my shoes ( Nike leather and vans canvas) the film will not stick. Even when I use the activator. I’m going crazy!! How do I get the film to stick ?
Tried using your promo code but keep having issues. The first time it told me it couldn't be used for the items in my cart (Metallic Graphite Spray Cans). The second time is said it had already been used, but the price stayed the same. I've ordered before using the code. Can it only be used once?
It's not funny that you didn't double tape and it started to float away, it's when you've got the part in your hand and your body just looks like you've given up, can't see your face but we know what you said lol
Once you dip a pair of shoes or baseball hat is there something you could spray over the top of them that would allow them to look a little shiny? Also protect them as well.

“Just the tip”. Great videos. Just started and I’ve made every mistake you talked about in your videos. But I’m learning. Love the vids.
Glad to help! We all made rookie mistake, but you learn from them and it makes you better in the long run.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographicsthese are the best instructional videos on the subject. Thank you

A question I have non related to the video is how large of a piece is usually needed to dip a deer skull
Great job, I have? I have a deer skull that I'm going to do but My son say's that the film come's off over time how do you keep it from peeling off?
When hydro dipping do you always dip in the middle of if the film or can you dip from beginning of the film.i. trying to dip a tumbler and get all like clumpy on the cup and don't stick and it fall off
You can do it either way, if it is not sticking then you have an activator issue.

Cut a much a larger piece than you think you need. Film is cheap compared to the rest of the process.

Can any of these films work on T-shirts? Pls thanks x
Where do you get your flims
How would you hydro dip an electric guitar
Does the water need to be a certain temperature?

I tried for 1st time today and it didn't activate. Did I not leave it in long enough before I sprayed activator. ?
Why does black ink fade on traversing?
How do u go about getting sponsors
Take it from me, he is not wrong. From one dipper to another.
Thanks Charles! Appreciate you watching.
Allways awsome content but where did the beard go? I thought you was going full zztop lol
I was letting it grow, until I got it caught in my welding helmet and dang near made me cry. It was time to trim it up.
LOL! Yes! Nothing better then a puppy, grandkids or other love of your life forcing you to rethink your own life decisions!
What about when the film rolls up on itself?
I explained it in the video that I referenced, cut slits all the way around and it wont roll up. Go watch that video and you will see how it works
after i dip my car part i can small spots all over on it
Glad to see you back. Thanks for the video. Looks like you lost a little weight... 😏
Nah, loosing the long beard makes me look less chunky on camera. I am still 240lbs of insanity and debauchery.

Instead of tape bubble rap works great.
First I have ever heard using bubble wrap. Cool idea!

He said pitty patty'r 🤦♂️🤣
LOL, I say dumb stuff sometimes
this could’ve been 2 minutes
Sounds really stupid but you can make a good dam system out of a couple of pool noodles
Should have watched the whole video before commenting...
