    Excellent video! The scx24 bronco is my first RC crawler. Had it for 3 days and I've ordered a heap of parts online but so far I've done injura wheels, removed the spare tyre carrier to improve centre of gravity, taken the springs out of the shocks to lower centre of gravity, unscrewed the shock shafts untill the screwhead was flush with the top of the cap at full compression which gave me about 2mm more extension in the shocks, and mounted all the shocks into the chassis towards the middle of the chassis and it's a completely different vehicle now. It has about 50mm of flex compared to about 30mm at stock and tyres don't rub. I need to do the bar mount swap next.

      Sounds like you’re having a good time with it for sure! Remember too much flex can make a for a sloppy vehicle.
      Keep up the awesome work!!!

    SCX24 Bronco is my first RC, I've only had it for a few weeks. Took it out today for the first time since putting new slightly bigger tires on and they kept getting caught on the front bumper. Flipping the bumper mounts and relocating the shocks (and also flipping the shocks so the reservoirs cleared the ESC) seems to have solved this issue! Thank you for the detailed video!

    I bought a blue Bronco, and a blue Gladiator for my 2 teen boys for Christmas. Then, a day later, their older brother couldn't stand not having one and bought his own white Jeep JLU. Then, needless to say, I also had to get in on the trail runs so I bought the gray Bronco. I've been in the hobby on and off for years, and instantly went to work with the Dremel and Xacto knife making mine a one of a kind. Two minutes out of the box and the body was off and the whirring of tools going at it. Mine definitely stands out from the rest, I've not seen anyone mod the body like this, and I claim the first to have the vision... even Ford would probably say they should've done this.

      I pulled the interior out of my gladiator entirely. I'll probably cut the windows out too, but I think the interior made a bigger difference. I'm planning on swapping the body out entirely once I finish with the chassis and suspension (I hate Jeeps, every one I've owned has crapped out quick) to something more buggy-like. The jury is still out on exactly what style I'll pursue

    Are your headlights brighter and fog lights dimmer now? I swapped mine around and noticed the headlights were much brighter when plugged into the fog light position.
    And what can you do with the channel 4 button? I thought I'd be able to move my fogs there and turn them on/off with the switch but that didn't seem to work.
    Thank you.

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  2 роки тому

      I didn’t notice them being different brightnesses. But I guess it’s possible. As for Channel 4, it’s just another power spot for lights. But always on. For a servo it works.

    That bumper flip is only manageable if you have weights in the wheels. Just raising the cg with that.

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  2 роки тому

      We think the the benefits outweigh the cost of 3-4 grams of 2-3cm higher weight. Better approach angle and no more tire rub, plus it just looks better. ;)

    Saw off the spare tire and pry off the roof rack and junk on it. Then add 300 grams of non rotational (mostly) weight as low as possible and get wheels you can put functional tires on. Or redesign your course till your other rigs thinks it's level.

The point I might have failed to make is it needs the same mods any other crawler needs, it just needs them more. Mine is 405 grams from 303 with battery and i'm happy with it.
