@@TriedRefusedProductions But a film like RRR could be a landmark in that case, especially with motivating actors to unite for bigger projects and bigger returns. Similar phenomenon was present in Malayalam industry in late 2000's but in the end it just resulted in substandard films. Just like how substandard period films kept coming post bahubali

Exactly my thoughts.. Chinese movies have 7 entries in top 10 highest earning movies in 2022.. We should be featuring in that list We should make our national and cultural presence felt
I resonate with what Vijay Deverakonda said on a spiritual level. Just like how Korea had gained audience all over the world with kdramas and kpop, and Japan with anime, India should create more and more high quality entertainment to make it's presence felt on the word stage. For that to happen the industries should collaborate like never before

Nope I have a problem with his opinion he mentions the unity part but why doesn't he acknowledge the fact that story quality has been declining and on top of that interesting and thought provoking topics for creating storys are not being adapted or used in the film industry and I mean as a whole like in the entire Indian film industry market which is what bothers me the most because it's always like they follow this pattern of releasing atleast one Nationalist movie, atleast a dozen Romance, atleast few random larger than life ones and idk sometimes good thrillers and psychological ones like seriously when are we going to get proper Fantasy storylines or proper Sci-Fi are those like erased from the mind of Indian audiences also where is my good old Supernatural genre I don't mean trash horror movies I mean proper supernatural occurence movies which will keep you guessing till the last moment of the movie which have immense amount of drama or mythology behind it I still remember the day I saw Tumbaad the reason this story still haunts me till this day is because it isn't told like any other horror or supernatural story but rather there is lore building in the background that tells the story of Hastar and also it feels way to much like a story that a grandmother would say to her grandson to scare them when they were kids that's why this hits even harder, So my question is are directors and actors both blinded by money because seriously that movie deserves better and I want more movies like that which explore Indian Fantasy and Mythological Lore though I don't mean real ones since Hindu community loves to stick blades within Director's asses if "PROPER"(according to them) is not portrayed even though it's should be the Director who gets to choose what is proper and what is improper

Mahesh once elaborated in an interview why he doesn't prefer doing hindi films. He said he has to dedicate one or two years on making a film and if he does one hindi movie and comes back to telugu movies, telugu audience has to wait almost 3-4 years to watch his movies. He doesn't want to make ppl wait for so long and leave telugu cinema for this reason bcoz that's what made him a star. Now that things are changed and even telugu movies are getting released in north he feels there's no need to act separately in hindi.
Anil kumar's Pallavi anu pallavi is excellent movie. Another interesting fact about this movie is Mani Ratnam being a tamilian directed Kannada movie, because at that time (in 80s) tamil audience dint accept experimental cinema and Kannada movie made back to back story centric movies

Based on Nawaz's comments: We should encourage all kinda cinema like Both Commercial and Content Oriented movies (Tamil films are too good in it). But in bollywood the problem is if one movie is hit, every one follow the same. Dangal was hit and every one started making Biopics.
@@shauryathakur619 but after the movie is thrown to garbage he himself would be admitting in every interview that he did the movie only for money, atleast Nawaz is honest about it, and look at his filmography his good to bad movies ratio is 8:2, so i think that should not be the problem, but look at main stars of indian cinema the good to bad ratio would be appr. 3:7 ( that too if you go kind on them), so there is the problem, when you criticise any starled movie, fanboys storm in to tell you about their star's best movie, but they don't see that star only has done 4-5 good movies, others are pretty shitty.
Being a south Indian, I don't prefer "Masala" movies or "larger-than-life" hero movies. And south does make a lot of non-masala movies, especially Malayalam, unfortunately, they are NOT huge box office hits like Bahubali, RRR, KGF. I have turned towards a Bollywood movie mostly to watch Aamir Khan's movie. I think he has made more non-masala movies with lots of success at the box office.
Even in other South Indian languages, very good non Masala movies were made, it is just that there were no takers for them, because they cater only to audiences who can understand better the language and concept.
Let's just face it. Every industry has its flaws and demerits. No industry can claim to be 100% spot on with the delivery of consistently superlative content. Appreciation or criticism both should be of the incentivizing kind and not the sycophantic or sadistic kind.

Devarakonda is right. Unless you unite, Hollywood movies are gonna do the same thing to the Indian movies once they did to the European movies, especially French. I don’t think Mahesh Babu said anything controversial. I’ve been watching his English interviews for a long time. He’s always said telugu films are his only priority. He’s not saying this suddenly because Bahubali/RRR worked. If you check his interviews from 2000s, he said the same thing, even though he’s speaks better hindi than telugu. Nawaz uddin always said that he does some movies for money and some movies for his intellectual pleasure. He does movies like Kick and Munna Micheal for money. On the other hand, he didn’t charge Nandita Das any money for Manto. I don’t know why some people can’t understand his duality. He’s always been clear about his preferences. He blatantly said in an interview that he struggled a lot in his life so he doesn’t mind working for money. It’s the audience who need to lower their expectations on him The recent attack / smear on Bollywood is nothing new. There’s an old political joke in New York, “If you wanna be a career politician, criticize the NYPD”. The politicians there use their criticism against the nypd as the ladder to fulfill their political ambitions. Similarly, Bollywood is so big that many people smear / criticize it just to achieve their goals. It can be for increasing twitter/ youtube followers, channel TRP etc. There were many small youtube channels which had only 100-200 followers . But they gained thousands of followers during the pandemic just by criticizing hindi industry/ Salman/ Karan Johar. They capitalized the audience’s frustration/helplessness. It’s become a fashion to praise south movies just to undermine / humiliate hindi movies. The thing is entertainment isn’t a zero sum game . You don’t have to humiliate hindi movies in order to praise the south movies. Both industry can co-exist at the same time. Also this nepotism argument is totally bogus imo. The industry owes you nothing. Capitalism gives you the opportunity to reject a product. If you don’t like an Ananaya Pandey movie, then just don’t watch it. As a consumer, you have the power to reject it. But thinking that the entertainment industry owes you anything is delusional. Our job as an audience is to consume the entertainment and then just move on with our life. It’s not our job to determine if the star kids deserve works or not

I truly agree on your statement. And wanna add more on to it. Once Satyajit ray said Indian have a backward audience which I think still true today. Like we have never appreciate good movies and we have seen movie just as a means of entertainment but not as art. Like people appreciating movies like RRR and kgf 2 tells it all. I don't have problem with it but the hype they are getting is insane. I watched the KGF 2 but was disappointed with story of film same was for rrr. I enjoyed the action of the movie larger than life part but they seriously need a good story. So I just was amazed by people reaction to a movie I found just average. We need larger than life part in a film but with a brilliant script and story too so that the art in movies can also thrive.
Me, being a South Indian myself have noticed that we really get cocky and overconfident when it comes to our films. So much so we put down other industries, especially Bollywood, which is unnecessary. Meanwhile Hindi speaking viewers laud regional films as Indian when they are good, but when they are bad, they put the borders and call it names and put it down. Hypocrisy of the entire Indian audience is quite annoying.
Thank you for acknowledging that. All this time, I never hated south indian movies, but the way how fans over there acted during the release of big commercial movies, left a bad taste in my mouth. Whereas people in North didn't care so much about the region a particular movie came from. The resultant of this bashing and trolling is that now some pro bollywood fans have started mocking south indian masala movies in defence of bollywood. And it's nothing but creating this nonsensical divide. Thank you, again.

The good change is that actors are giving more and more interviews to youtubers in their podcast where they are decently and respectfully questioned. So different from grilling interviews by mainstream media for publicity. The chats in podcasts are more candid and soothing to watch.
Are you talking about beerbiceps? Who literally agrees with everything any actor says. He is kin of a PR machinery from Bollywood, tough questions should always be asked, otherwise what is the purpose of knowing about a person, ofcourse those questions shouldn't be personal, but interviews or podcasts shouldn't be just about bootlicking of these actors, there should definitely be some tough questions.
Conflict is ingrained in human nature. We like pitting one thing against another. No matter how much of artistic accomplishment any industry brings about, fans of the respective language industries would still find some or the other factor to discriminate and perpetuate hate against the other.

This shows that he has a genuine interest for the art of cinema and that his priorities are just a lil different rn. This Anti Gravity statement of his has been blown way out of proportion. He in fact emphasises on the fact that movies such as KGF and Ugramm are just mass commercial cinema and not an authentic representation of his (Prashanth Neel’s) art form/cinema.
Aamir certainty seemed very teary and emotional in that interview. But whenever I see actors get emotional in interviews, I can't help but question the authenticity as they're professional actors and crying on cue is certainly within their abilities . Not saying Aamir isn't genuine, just that these thoughts do come into the back of my mind while watching such interviews.
At the end one felt that he really was a good actor (whose film was being released later this year). Very sad things have reached this level of cynicism among the public. But all institutions need an overhaul from time to time.
I feel it shouldn't be a compitition because at the end of the day it's an Indian film and the only thing that should matter is the script not the language
The best way to tackle media especially film journalists is the way Salman did in 1998 in his famous press con at the sets of pyar Kiya toh darna kya when he literally told them to just stay away from my personal life right whatever you about me professionally but no personal thing whatsoever
The hypocrisy is when john abraham said that he only wants to work in Hindi films, people trolled him. But when Mahesh Babu said vice versa, people start praising him.
It's about the perspective of the person that questions. People always question like Bollywood is the next stage or next big step in one's career. It makes other regional (Hindi is regional too) industries look inferior. That's why MB answered in that way.
Pls get full facts before coming to a judgement. The reason John Abraham is trolled is instead of just talking about himself not doing regional films, he also added extra sentence shaming other north actors doing movies in south for so called business. Mahesh Babu talked only abt himself, if John also had only talked about himself and not adding extra sentence as to how he was superior compared to others, this much trolling would not have happened

Prashant Neel looks straight forward person, he says what he wants to do, does that with giving his best and people loves that. I don't think he should make so called art films. Movies like KGF and Ugramm both are artistic in their own way. In 10-20 years people will celebrate Jhon Wick as master in engaging audience and action sequence, MAD MAX is already their, some Marvel movies are ART forms itself. Even legendary directors needs to understand that doing action, comedy and larger than life things is not just mere entertainment, it's ART. Why every other can't do movies like Mad Mad Or KGF Or RRR, don't be hypocrite and say only slow burner non-action story tellers are ART cinema. Canvas is different, style is different and presentation is different that doesn't mean it's not ART form.
Won't deny the fact that Bollywood has always looked down on others but here we have amazing pictures from across India. I hope we become more open and collaborative. Old hindi films theme won't work now.

As an Indian from the South of India who watches movies in all languages(provided they have subtitles, or not at times), I was annoyed when I got many "Bollywood is dying" videos on my recommended. For the problem has been division. Like they couldn't be glad that _Indian_ movies were doing good but they were bothered that _Hindi_ movies weren't doing great. The beauty is in the risk you are willing to take. Being safe on Biopics and Remakes will definitely not do, at least not for long. Like Mahesh Babu said, you needn't do Hindi movies today, there was a time where people thought Hindi movie was the peak of the mountain of success which may even help you reach another mountain called Hollywood. But it is not now, neither is success measured like that now. And this is something to be glad about, that all industries are reaching their heights and are outdoing themselves. Be it our country or cinema, we are united in and at times united by diversity. ♥️ We have an audience for all genres and all languages who breathe cinema. Where there's good content, nothing dies. What's sad is that South cinema is all of South Cinema but Bollywood is Bollywood alone. I believe it is the balance, (Just an example) the balance between movies like Jai Bhim, KGF, RRR, Bheeshma Parvam and Soorarai Potru(and many many more)that makes it work in harmony. A true story, fiction, real heroes with fictional stories, story based on mythology and a biopic with a little fiction. All of them have heroes, one different from the other, worshipped and celebrated differently from the other. And villains, some physical, social and even psychological. And just heroism isn't the base of all South Indian movies. There have been such movies and some of them have failed as well. All industries make good movies and movies that don't do good occasionally. This sudden hype from the media about Bollywood dying is just sad. Neither do I understand the need to be so dramatic about it. 🧐 We'll just have to wait. Good things take time, a lot of it.🖤 There has been a lot of controversies and conspiracies about an existing gang in Bollywood. I couldn't care less. All I know is that, This is Indian cinema, and it shall remain immortal. 🦋

Finally somebody said it. People don't realise that when they say boycott bollywood, they are also targetting the thousands of people working behind the scenes, like technicians , spot boys , stylists , make up artists , production designers ,etc. So much goes on behind making a movie. I agree. Nowadays there is only hate going on against hindi movies. Even before the movies get released there is a trend going on social media to boycott the movie. Even in RRR Ramcharan's character was an antihero. b) It seems that lack of articulation from the mass audience has put the class audience on a pedestal. People will not buy tickets to watch a sob story or a docudrama. They need the adrenaline flowing, the sprinkling social commentary through the thriller, action genre could be a very well suited genre for these new age films. c) I support Vijay Devrakond'as words in letter and spirit, we should have only Indian cinema shot in such and such language and dubbed in so and so languages.

To be honest, we may all have different tastes, but the one factor that would always work is the underlying emotions. Simple, basic human emotions is what anyone would connect with easily. So, it all boils down to keeping those emotions always in focus but presenting everything else around it as grandly as possible. South North, East, West ...nothing matters after that. The movies are usually shot once and dubbed anyway.

I don't know what's happened to Nawazuddin siddique. He's busy making romantic comedies. Nothing wrong with that. But dude, you can't be a part of heropanti 2 and talk about ground breaking cinema or artistic movies. It's time nawazuddin went back to doing what he is best at, and I'm not talking about playing antagonist roles, I'm talking about grounded and subtle cinema.
You need money to take care of all the liabilities you have been purchasing and living a lifestyle you can't afford in the long run while doing good movies.
but those 'grounded and subtle cinema' is not making money. people dont appreciate those kind of works. it's actually a problem of the audience. all they want is unsensible entertainment. that's what he meant when he said that atleast by end of quarantine people would have changed their perspective on cinema but sadly they haven't. so regrettingly he has to do movies like heropanti 2. because only that sells.

Hey Jammy. I have a request. Since we have witnessed 2 blockbuster movies in the last 2 months both being from action genre RRR and KGF chapter 2, can you please make a video of comparing these 2 movies on storyline, stardom, technical prowess and the buzz and narratives created by the movies.
While people would prefer to go to cinemas for larger than life films brimming with heroism, I do not feel that it marks the decline of Bollywood in any manner. After the rampage of good quality action thrillers of Amitabh Bacchan in 1970s, there existed immense monotony in storylines in 80s and 90s. Films were a perplexed episodes of various sub-plots stitched into one film shabbily. The rejection of Heropanti 2 by audiences reflected in Box office Numbers and the acceptance of unique cinema probably as a result of exposure at OTT platforms signifies a shift in the perception of audience. What one needs to realise the South Indian films have an appealing well designed story that supports heroism. For me, Hindi cinema is progressing content-wise. If it was not, Raazi, Andhadhun, Gangubai would would not have catered to masses. And yes, Vijay Devarakonda said it right. This exchange is important. We need to view it as Indian cinema.
@@SuiSui1a What one needs to realise the South Indian films have an appealing well designed story that supports heroism. This is what I said. Talking about nawazuddin's take, I think his opinion comes from a place of being an out of touch billionaire. During the covid pandemic, the vast majority of the people in this country lost their jobs, were forced to migrate and suffered food and financial shortages. They were hardly concerned about films at that point. The class of people who shifted to Ott is miniscule and not at all representatives of the indian population.
It’s the audience who need to lower their expectations on him
The recent attack / smear on Bollywood is nothing new.

Actually, we mutually look down upon each other and always converse in a combative pose and quickly start comparing each others negatives ending up making fun of each, even if our or some of our people too go through the same problems. We need mutual respect and co-operation.
North Indians are just being hypocritical and stupid with this thing, with sucking up to South Indian movies lol that's it. We need to stop doing that. We ourselves have our own regional industries and great movies.
Bollywood has to shed its ego and north audience has to educate themselves regarding south industry, only then we can unite. If you still represent every South Indian as madrasi then something is fundamentally wrong with you.
Jammy has started getting biased. As expected he conveniently ignored how Anupama Chopra was mocking Kannada cinema while interviewing Yash and Prashant and how befitting and excellent was their response. We know he wouldn't include a sharp response given to Anupama when she attempts to humiliate "regional cinema", be it during Kabir Singh or KGF 2. I can bet that Anupama can't dare to ask such questions to the Shahrukhs, Salmans & her favourite Karan Johar. Top of it Jammy will maintain a 'diplomatic silence' on it.
You misread what she said. There is absolute truth to the fact that Telugu cinema is regressive when it comes to gender and some caste issues.
This is not true of Malayalam and some Tamil.
She has appreciated southern cinema, but has an issue with a certain kind of Telugu film.
I see that a valid perspective to have and state.

We have an audience for all genres and all languages who breathe cinema.
Where there's good content, nothing dies.
What's sad is that South cinema is all of South Cinema but Bollywood is Bollywood alone.
I believe it is the balance,
(Just an example)
the balance between movies like Jai Bhim, KGF, RRR, Bheeshma Parvam and Soorarai Potru(and many many more)that makes it work in harmony.
We'll just have to wait. Good things take time, a lot of it.🖤
There has been a lot of controversies and conspiracies about an existing gang in Bollywood. I couldn't care less.
All I know is that,
This is Indian cinema, and it shall remain immortal.

I agree. Nowadays there is only hate going on against hindi movies. Even before the movies get released there is a trend going on social media to boycott the movie. If you don't like it don't watch it. Why are people spreading so much hate on social media with boycott trends as if it is some revolutionary thing? Liking a movie or not is a subjective thing. This was a good watch. Just a couple of thoughts......
a) Antihero and his exploits are the new normal. I don't see a hero worship in the recent Southern trend, rather the rise and character depth of Antiheroes and their exploits.
But in kgf the movie, with it’s music kind of portrayed that antihero character as hero, rrr was fine in that case.

@@varsha5250 okay but South films are actually better and cooler than Bollywood, Fyi i have watched both kgf and RRR , I don't think it's average or below average , it's actually a commercially good movie.
@@varsha5250 true . After few years when Bollywood makes superhit movies and south make flop these same fans will hate south films and start supporting Bollywood again .
