It's literally just the fact that 95% of Forza drivers don't understand you can't just drive at full race speed all the time. Everyone always brakes where they would in qualifying, with total disregard of what's going on in front of them
You would be surprised the number of people that don't adjust brake zones for race Vs quali or hotlaps. I had a little debate with some a year or so ago regarding this and most involved in it maintained that They would brake at their usual marker in race mode or not
No radar is criminal, or a spotter would have been so cool, you've got the woman telling you how many laps are remaining, would have been awesome to have her do spotting as well, ah well built from the ground up!

The issue with the tunes comes from the fact the stock tunes are so poor, we have no choice but to tune the hell out of the cars and then you end up with such a disparity it’s almost like a multi class race
23:30 - Rory that badge you've recieved is more than just special treatment, although people will definitely be more careful around you. What it actually means is that you've been promoted to a Race Marshall! This allows you to report any incidents you see/are involved in straight to Turn10. You/the viewers may have seen 'X to mark for review' pop down after each incident - that's a tool unique to you and other Race Marshalls to improve online racing for everyone.
Clever move by Turn 10 to make you a Race Marshall. They’re obviously taking on board what you have been saying, which is a compliment; but they’re forcing you into a lose-lose situation. You either play a game that isn’t fixed yet or get called out by the Forza fan boys for not using your opportunity to better the game. Behind you whatever you chose Mr Alexander. 👍🏻

Tuning is one of the funnest things about forza or any racing game. It's easy on forza too. The way you tune chassis in forza is close to real life.
FF-stiff in rear soft up front
FR-stiff in front soft in rear
Awd-stiff in front soft in rear
Mid engine-stiff up front soft in rear. And learn what differential acceleration and deceleration do. The lower the numbers the more grip you'll have and the more stability you'll have going on and of throttle. The higher the numbers the chassis will break lose more predictably when doing drift tunes. No need to ever pull downforce out of a car speed can be sorted out through transmission Tuning.

Tuning has always been a huge part of forza. It's a great part of the game. If you aren't the best driver you can make a name for yourself as a tuner. Same with the custom detailing.
The pit exit was blocked off in FM6 and FM7 as well.
Why would they need to get rid of tuning? Everybody has access to tunes, and almost all of the good ones are publicly available for every car. With T10 confirming that they're re-working the levelling system, tuning will be easy to use and readily available for everybody, with minimal game investment time.
Personally, the radar is the big issue for me. The cockpit view in some cars doesn’t have any mirrors and you have no idea where people are. I end up giving far more space than I need to and sacrificing the corner to allow a faster car to go through. We don’t really race it out, and you can’t put your elbows out without ending up at the back. Love the tuning process but there always seems to be 1/2 drivers that are 2-3 seconds ahead of the rest. Seems like this could be sorted with matchmaking or nerfing the effects of tunes. I really do enjoy the game though. Rivals is so addictive when the ramming gets too much. Starting at the front though really helps with the ramming

things are definitely not perfect but i do notice races became A LOT cleaner lately. not sure if some T10 system finaly works or people just mature and got their cars under control now. Would love to see you continue FM again❤

so glad to hear someone feels the same as me on the tuning issue. I wish they had 2 separate lobby options (Tune / No Tune) of all the races available. And radar is an absolute must, the prox arrows are totally useless.
The lack of radar is crazy and these prototypes really prove it.
You hear the car is somewhere to your left and magically the car is now turning in front of you because you have zero idea if its actually safe to turn

The reason that guy was so fast in race one is because he was in a speed car on the speed track, that thing is a pig in the corners but flies on the straights

I came back to the game after a couple months off sim racing and I’ve gotten pretty decent lobbies people have been pretty respectful and leave space for the most part lol. You still get the occasional rammer but it’s not like before, the game itself tho still leaves a lot to be desired. They still haven’t fixed the controller mapping resetting since launch so I have no view buttons unless I use my GS rim that has joysticks. Not a huge problem except when I wanna use a different rim. There’s still unfortunately a huge skill gap with the matchmaking you still get a few fast guys at the front, one guy who’s like 3 seconds faster than the whole
Lobby and the rest of the field seems to be fairly even. I like that they finally fixed the exit curbs of doom on tracks like yas marina I can finally push to the absolute limit without having to worry about my car randomly spinning. They also finally fixed the gt3 cars and several other having weak feedback. Overall it’s going in the right direction but they really gotta start adding more tracks they’re starting to get repetitive cause of the small selection.
The controller mapping doesn't reset, it just doesn't save your profile that was active from the last session. So if you are creating a new profile every time you play you probably have like 60+ profiles and have probably been getting a message about how you're running out of space. You probably need to go delete all those profiles and just make one. Then when you play again just go into the profile options and select that profile each time.
in GT7 this would be a BB or a BC Lobby. I hope Turn10 didn't suffer Layoffs as well, soo they can get their team to listen to the community and fix these issues
I really feel the game was forced out by shareholders/corporate, though I'm glad they're starting to fix stuff.
I think he's got bad luck honestly. If you look at someone like Erractic gt he's gotten some good, clean races.
This would be a mix of everything between d and A with everyone B or lower safety. Time differences are massive and clean racing is nowhere to be seen. Matchmaking need to be overhauled before you can get any competitive racing.
Why not just not have any collision whatsoever

I actually feel that the tuning system is the best feature out of whatever the current forza can offer... If you spend 30 minutes to learn tuning, you may find it is extremely fun, especially for GT class where custom performance upgrades are not allowed. With different tunes, the exact same GT car can be a corner monster or a straight line rocket. If you like balance in corner exist, you can tune your car to be balanced. If you like a little bit oversteering to help you turn, you can tune your car to achieve that. It is so fun to tune your car to match the way you would like to drive. And if you do not want to spend any time tuning, no problem, there are hundreds of great public tunes uploaded by other people for you to download and try. Some of those publicly available GT car tunes are extremely good.
I find the tuning too much to make the racing interesting in itself. there's too much of a gap between drivers, the balancing suffers horribly when theres too many options to choose from. If there was only simple 1-5click setup for aero, suspension, dampers, braking, that would be all that's needed for track dependant adjustments to be necessary
@@ISirSmoke as I mentioned, if you just want to be competitive without trying to figure out how to tune, you can download other people’s tunes. Some tunes out there are very good.
I have noticed dive bombers getting bigger penalties. I crossed the line in 5th and got 3rd due to the opposition's penalties.
This reminds me when I had my first race against people in GT7 and was so happy I finished 4th, but then the penalties hit 🤣
Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey. Rome wasn’t built in a day and this won’t be fixed in a couple of weeks. I think I reserve the right for judgement until at least one more update. I hope they realise that they can include elements that make other games better without losing their own identity. It’s not one or the other!
This is the thing that winds me up the most it's the amount of times you get hit in a race. I feel there needs to be damage on all online racing modes and this cuts things down massively.

2nd race was great, I was actually in the first race with you it felt like most of the lobby was racing clean apart from one or two bad apples, I was two cars behind you going into the horseshoe and a lambo cut right across me in the braking zone I actually think you made a remark about it but the guy who did it was a bad apple 😂😂, love to see you streaming forza and I'm always down for some community races.
They have a proximity marker not a radar. Ppl just have to learn to use it

I don't think Rory means let's remove tuning all together. I think he means that the difference between an ok tune and an incredible tune shouldn't be 2-3 secs per lap as this spreads the field too far apart and you get too disconnected from the leaders. I love tuning but tend to agree. I often finish 5th but still finish 30 seconds behind the leader 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve been noticing better racing sportsmanship, but that might be due to a lesser field of players, been getting races with pretty empty grids. Probably only the good racers have stayed and the skydivers moved on to something else.
One other thing, since you where using TC: haven’t you noticed a huge decay in performance when you have TC ON and the tires turn yellow. To me, is a huge difference, and have been having much better results on touring cars where is much easier to survive the races without TC, but on GT’s I slip to the end of the pack (without TC) while on the touring I can battle for the win.
I wish we could have TC just like ACC, an the RADAR is also a huge miss.

You can download tunes and find one that suits you.
Tuning is part of Motorsport and in fact this menu is a direct copy of Grand Turismo from back in the day.
Most tuners put in a lot of work to refine their tunes, some might use a app to get a base setting,
but to find that last 1-5% is a lot of work, test driving ect. So the reward of having a fast car is justified (IMO)
And most other players can download them for free, with no effort.
To me that is not always justified because no effort was put in. (IMO)
If you suggest we all should drive the stock tune, many including me would leave instantly.
Because stock tunes are absolute garbage especially the gearbox, suspension and tire pressures..
So take the time to find a tune, that suits you, your driving style and one that gives you consistent laptimes.
It is a shortcut, that takes little effort and hardly any input besides some test driving.
P.S. the guy who won, has a tune, but above all he is really fast, you can not blame that on the tune.
He would beat you by at least 1-3 seconds a lap in the same car with the same tune.
On Daytona, qually on soft =1.43 and race on medium is low 1.44 or high 1.43 and those are not crazy times
The "old" Ferrari 488 is still the fastest there and can do 1.42 (Not easy!)
I bet if you got that car and that winner tune, you would not come close (Super loose&sharp setups)
I personally can not drive those and that goes for 99% of the players. (Hence why i make my own tunes)
If anything is a issue with the tuning, it is the stock tune and how bad they are...
It is a Forza thing, they always where bad and still are...
Adjust Gearbox+Downforce in GT cars and you will find 1 second on speed tracks,
adjust ARB+Suspension/Damping/Reboud and you find another second without touching anything else..
Lower the tire pressures and increase grip&breaking. That is 2 to 2,5 second a lap on full size tracks.
That would bring you laptimes to 1.44's
Again, the base tune and how bad they are, is the real issue, not ppl making them better...

I have noticed far more apologies in quick chat for accidental contact in races. Its made me far more aware tp do the same when im in the wrong. Its slowly getting better in that respect.
Forza has such a beautiful sense of speed and motion, gt always feels too slow even above 200mph.
Exactly. FM camera movement is realistic like live footage. GT7 looks arcadey like 10hz movement
Out of blind rage, one day I decided I was done with Forza and switched to ACC. I did several offline practice races at Spa (which is a track that I know pretty well) just to get the feel of it, and after feeling up-to-speed, I jumped into multiplayer. I didn't make it through that first race without getting punted off, and since then, I've changed my tune about Forza. Turn10 still has A WHOLE LOT of work to do on it, but I do think they could be given a little bit more time to fix things up. At the end of the day, most of my gripes are with the community anyway. Some key features could help the community help itself, but I don't think the worst offenders would use those features to drive any better anyway
I wouldn’t give up on acc at all. I’ve recently done the same and having far cleaner races on acc. The radar, spotter and less pad players is a huge factors. Not sure I’ll come back to forza tbh

Never left Forza, but, from times to times, I like to try ACC multiplayer and, since I’m on a XBox and can’t use LFM, it’s been carnage and almost never can make it to the second lap. To the point that I can’t underestimate the importance of improvement that força multiplayer races have been getting. If we could have a radar or a spotter it would be sick.
I’m still hoping I can have those items or LFM on XBox.

I've got Crew Chief on console which works with PC2. Turn 10 could atleast give us the option to use that. It's a great spotter.

I can work without the radar, but it wpuld help a lot. It seems that GT punishes bad play a lot more harshly than Forza. Even the faster players use the punt as an overtake option, it's an easy win when you can get away without much or any penalty

This is what I've been saying the racing can be good, I'm just confused as to why it's mostly bad when you do it with the community so maybe next week do a couple races yourself and then see the difference.
I want them to do more races like this i was so happy I finally got to drive the cover car in a proper race 😊. I was one to say that the pit exit was fine but yesterday I had 2 cars coming out and nearly hit them so yeah either ghost them or put it back to normal

It is impossible to drive without a car radar and spotter, if you're using a wheel on hood view.

Guys, how do you find the FFB? On a DD wheel with custom settings? Is it any good? Prolly will try it once the Nordschleife track comes out. I always had lap time consistency problem when playing forza motorsport compared to games like AC, ACC, GT - anyone with the same issue.
Its crazy how obvious you can tell someone that plays with a wheel vs controller. I wish there was a wheel only option online cause being on a straight line and still wobbling into other cars is crazy 😂😂😂

I play Forza almost daily and have been since launch. The (lack of) radar and proper driver ratings (with matchmaking consequences) should be top priority.
Sadly, that would leave me relegated to the tombs with the rammers (I'm not that quick on course), but it *should make for much more enjoyable high-level racing.
I'm not supposed to be watching all of these Forza videos, but whenever Rory uploads on it, I have to watch it, lol.
And get better soon, mate. Haven't been feeling well either. Can't taste the Dr. Pepper I'm sipping on, so I might be catching a cold myself :(

No forza has ever had a radar or spotter ect it comes down to track time in everyone’s case, looking around with the camera and situational awareness. It’s also very easy to download a tune and try them out during practice. Completely understandable that you haven’t got time to tune and properly study a track by hot lapping. It’s the other stuff that drives me crazy about this game
I dont care for any radar, I would need to look at it contantly. There arrow system Forza uses is far superior for me at least, as i can see where they are acording to me and how close without taking my eyes off the horizon (I can also hear them).
Also the tunes... just make one yourself, if you dont want that, downloade one or simply just go to any of the many Forza site for great tunes.
Only thing i wish, what maybe a even more strict penalty system. somthing like you need to give back the spot you stole from pushing somone out of the track or get dis. And that each time you hit somone you get body dam and loose a tiny bit of top speed.
you only need to glance at the radar to know. there is a reason people want it. there are ranges when the arrow fades in turns yellow then orange. these are non specifc and i like specifics.
The statrts are the most frustrating thing thrown onto the track with a high speed start into an up coming turn. Ridiculous. A standing start would be the way go

Do an oval race at IMS or Homestead. Check out the pit exits there. The people who made the tracks have no idea how racing works.
When you get spun before a hairpin you can take the shortcut with no penalty.
I don't blame you for taking time off from playing it. I haven't touched it in the last 2 weeks. They picked the right person to be a race marshal. Keep hitting that X every time and the game will be cleaned up in no time. Probably not but it's a nice thought.
Are there open lobbies or are all lobbies event based so your lovked to a specific car

Started well enough
Gt - hardest mode due to hard-core gt fans and tuning aliens.
Touring - cars just isnt as fun as other modes. Small lobbies (sometimes)
Spotlight - marginal pi difference and small workroom for performance makes this diverse even if cars are a little slower. Helped me get the line off. Certain tracks (wet hakone) were purposefully used almost like scenario races 👌 bentley week was just superb for races
The daytona is a welcome addition with the two hour switch ups 💯
I can feel a shift in the way people want to race with the rise in sim racing fans
Is there not a work around for the radar, pc users at least, will a Simhub overlay work with Forza ?

That pit lane exit 🤣. How can a developer of one of the biggest franchises in video game racing make such a huge error, id give them a bit of leeway if they were a European based studio but Turn 10 is US based and this is a US circuit
It's crazy because almost the entire track is inaccurate, regarding some of the corners at least.
It’s not only that pit exit, Spa and Laguna Seca also have the craziest pit exits, can’t imagine a reason for that.

I went into the multiplayer today and tried the new carpass ferrari gte. I was at daytona in the infield when another driver kicked me slightly which caused me to lose control and go off track and even though I was full on the brake pedal the car didn't slow down at all, I was basically a missile without control. The next corner just a few hundred meters away I then slid back on track with over 100km/h, but the game didn't ghost me so I hit another driver, then I got a 8 sec penalty and went from safety rating S straight down to C.
I'm not sure if I'll get the motivation to work myself up to an S rating again, I think I will wait for the 5.0 Update first. :(

I had one yesterday holding the inside line 3 cars wide, outside car turned in on the guy in the middle, which ended up with the guy who turned in spinning in front of both of us with no where go instant 4 second penalty for me minding my own business, really needs sorting out
A radar n better matchmaking based on skill AND safety would go miles!

That's me getting clarted at 14:10 lol. Forza is a minefield. One minute you have people letting you through after a collision, next race you're getting straight-lined for purely existing.

I want to love this game, but the more I play it there are some huge flaws.
1) The tune - there is no way tunes should find you 2-4 seconds a lap. I almost feel that they should just enforce a stock tune in the races.
2) Lack of radar - that arrow is of almost no use unless you are outside of the car
3) Matchmaking/Driving standards - some of the people that you end up racing with are awful. The number of times I've been rammed off is unreal. It's especially an issue in the single seaters which spin so easily.
You find 2-4 seconds a lap because stock tunes are absolute garbage.
Gearbox where always bad on FM, Tire pressures way to high, suspension and damping way to soft.
Include fine tuning the ARB (Anti Roll Bars) and donwforce to your liking it is a easy 2-4 second found.
This is and always has been an issue with FM and i play from 2005 FM2

I noticed a few times you were not shifting into top gear, aka, 6ths for that car. WOrse yet you were downshifting too far, maybe because you thought you were in a higher gear to begin wtih and you nearly spun yourself out more than once doing that.
I play the game a lot the tunes in online are op but that’s kinda how it works I think it should be limited to some extent like suspension roll bars tire pressure and damping either that or I’d be fine with none at all I just say suspension or roll bars at minimum I always tune the roll bars springs geometry you name it but in all reality that’s what they do in real life they keep one General setup then change it variably depending on the track some like softer suspension some like harder some run shorter gears some run longer it’s just another skill gap in the game where if you don’t know much about tunes your in trouble and it’s unfair
The chaos is worse then ever, i dont think the radar will help even though its a major must.
Problem is the engine. If you are full throttle and someone tries to ram you, they will bounce right off.
If you take a bend at partial throttle or on the brakes and someone goes for a kamikaze, youl get flung off and the penalties. They have the collision dynamics backwards for some reason!

Part of the time difference is imbalance of cars/types. The tuning is broken; for example, if you are in an B class race, you can grab an A class car (1-18 pts into A class) and add Ballast with zero upgrades. You will lower handling, braking and acceleration. But you cars top speed will remain. You have made it a rocket on wheels, but in flat out sectors they are beasts.
What I wished they would do is remove the "Open" races and go with selective car types. Along with fixing the tuning and upgrading system... like the tires. Racing tires should be more effective on all stats, with each one having higher impacts. As it is, having Racing Soft or Racing Hard does not show any impact on vehicle stats, even though it does affect performance. Likewise, Stock tires are drastically inferior to racing tires, but there are plenty of examples of Stock tires with Best Times in Qualifying and races. There is almost zero difference between Stock and Street tires, and both perform equally well as Wet tires in Rain. Street tires don't do rain well, on Stock tires are all-weather.
Love the addition of the review, but I will hold to see how effective it is. For now, doesn't seem to impact, but it might be something that takes some time. Only fixing the Replay and the Reporting System will deal with the Dirty Drivers.
So the crashing and going off track doesn't add to being slow
In a way, it's good that Rory got the badge because we need more marshals to improve the game experience and he is indeed a clean racer (or tries his hardest to be). Conversely though, I think there are people who are far more involved/active who are more deserving of that badge, which shows that T10 are more concerned with sucking up to content creators for marketing, rather than actually improving the game and having players return that way. It's quite clear that by giving Rory the badge, it will make players afraid of ramming him, thus giving him an artificially good experience so his future content in the game will not accurately reflect the state of the racing within Forza.

You are great racer and you see how it is. FM is almost unplayable on wheel. I am much worse player than you, but on a controller i can ride clean race almost every time. When i try wheel, i crash as you did many times. Just because you don't know where are other cars when turning.
I disagree, tuning is the only way to make some of these vehicles drivable.
It shows there's still so much work to do. The racing spread out too far, and when it is close you get rammed due to lack of radar and driving standards
The biggest issue for me are the physics leaning more on arcade, the classic forza crashes and corner mayhem. Those 2 getting fixed might make me want to play it, else ill just stick to other games.

You might have already seen this, but they will be implementing a new system at some point that gives you the option to spend money rather than time on car points, and all upgrades will be available from the get go. The leveling system isn’t going away, but it sounds like a nice compromise.
