What Forza Motorsport's Lowest Rated Lobbies Look Like!

- Today I am back in some Forza Motorsport lobbies, but this time I have created a new account and unlike my near max rated main account, the goal for this one is to get as close to the LOWEST rating possible in the game. The results are lobbies that have some of the worst driving I've ever seen, with positions basically given for free. We also see some major issues with the rating system in the game which may suggest why there are always slow drivers in any lobby.

I actually found sticking to A safety rating is “safer” than S rating. Im sitting at about 4850 skill but when I get S safety I get matched against straight up Death Race enthusiasts.
That's interesting, but also kind of logical. S tier usually contains the fastest players, who will try moves when they're faster etc. The chances of an incident can be higher.
S 4999 and get in to lobbies where ppl are over 5 seconds slower in qually and reek havoc in the first corner(s)..
Why i am matched with these players?
Enough good ppl in my friend list that are fast and skilled drivers but i rarely get matched with them.
And if we make a party to race together then 9 out of 10 times the game crashes before we can actually race.
After a few tries and 2 hours further the party dissolves and and everybody will do their own thing again...
I came from PSN to XBL because it was better and easy to join friends, but those days are (long) gone.
@@ACR_BOX This reminds me of Halo Infinite, where it was hard to play with friends on ranked, because of the ranking system. I guess T10 could throw in some unranked hoppers with less XP/credits or something.
The rating system is not currently working in this game, none of you have any idea what you are carrying on about.

I'm an S rated with a 1100 skill rating. I consistently finish last but try to race cleanly and stay on the track. I see out of control drivers finishing ahead all the time.

You know the skill/safety rating is flawed when a 4999 S lobby can look not much different than what is seen in this video.
Yea, its flawed as in its not currently working at all.
Because 90% of times 4999 S lobbies have only one 4999 S player in it.
Mr. Devon over here struggling to de-rank while I seem to be struggling to get out of A rating. Thanks for showing me its not just my slow-a$$ that keeps making mistakes. Keep up the fun!
When trying to get track limit penalties, the system is heavily weighted towards whether you actually gained an advantage.
If you slowly drive out of bounds, it'll assume you've made an honest mistake and the sub optimal line is punishment enough.
If you cut a corner and speed through it faster than the normal racing line would allow, then you're much more likely to get a penalty. Cutting the corkscrew would be a good example.
I have a video coming out tonight about how bad the top lobby’s are!! I’m S and 4997 but some of them look like the lobbies you raced in, and the penalty system is broken too with some great examples in the upcoming video
Yesterday I got a 1.5 second penalty for dropping both my tires off the inside of the corkscrew. Being generous, maybe I gained 0.2 seconds.
@@DrivingGod21 a machine is never going to be perfect. Hell, even real stewards in the FIA are nowhere close, but if you got an advantage and got penalised for it then that's good enough for me.
Sure, it's overkill and it probably should have been weaker, but you were in the wrong and it caught you. I'd much rather it was iffy in how bad it was, than whether it was bad at all.
@@existentialselkath1264 Oh no I'm not complaining. I understand I would rather it give penalties for minor infractions than not at all. I was just giving an example of how easy it is to cut the corkscrew and get massive penalties.
The system definitely needs tweaking though. Even the best penalty systems aren't always fair, but I feel like this one is way off.
I think the lobbies are built based on connection speed and availability…there may not have been enough people to keep a lobby consistently filled with equally rated people. The bugs will get worked out though.

The most carnage I'd see were during my stints as a 'S' driver. After an ill advised look at one of the R class races I got stuck in the middle of a utter mosh pit at turn one and the avalanche of penalaties I got from that seems to have firmly planted me in "A" now.
The ratings system is bunk. The aim of every race is not to get murdered at turn one and try and get a safe spot in the top 6 or 7 for the rest of the race. If you fall to the rear, you're in for a bad day!

Trying not to get murdered in T1 is so true. If I start from pole I win the race or get murdered first turn and leave because I dont wanna get my saftey rating destroyed by these shamefull rammers😂
@@Kahfjdkaj yesterday in Hakone GT lobby, I started from the back because previously when I got pole there I got murdered first lobby I don’t use Traction control and I am on wheel so that would be my race over.. so yesterday did not qualify started 19th and won the race..

Initial rating: S-3900. Either killed everyone by 5 secs with a couple of others or get killed by 2 secs a lap. Three races later I'm 4300-B with this JSR Devon dude in my lobby up by 3 seconds...Thanks for being a sport and not racing in that lobby! It's broken but still better than it was. It's like multicalas racing in the TCR lobby at times. I had a shameful rammer target me in one race, took 3 laps to get his DQ by which time my race was ruined. Just like the old lobbies!
As a non-Forza player, the biggest confusing thing was that you were driving the old Laguna layout
Cool layout but the first braking zone is always a disaster
I like this new layout, it's faster. Though it's going to break my brain when I go to race it in GT 7. Infamous turn right on a left hand turn to meet Barry R.
From what I can tell, lap time has a big influence over your skill rating. So you have to crawl around to get those low numbers

But matchmaking doesn't work as it should anyway
I am not even bothering racing online anymore until they fix how a player can ram into you and if it spins them out then YOU get the penalty and YOU take the ratings hit.
here's the problem with saying "please spend more time in single player before going into a multiplyer lobby" the people who need that advice will 100% never take it .. and the good drivers hear "im not good enough" and never go into multiplayer.

This is my first Forza, I'm just sticking to career mode. I figure I got no chance in mp.... especially watching stuff like this.

I’m S safety ranked and 4,7 of skill rating, and it’s the exact same thing 👍🏼. It doesn’t exist matchmaking in this game
There are some idiots in the s rated lobbies but for the most part I've had some really good races
Just proves that the driver and safety ratings are literally meaningless. I'm just gonna drive like a yob now seeing as it'll make no difference whatsoever.

I was so confused why an LMP guy was in the same lobby as a 1684 skill rating. Seems like smoke and mirrors to me, awesome job Turn 10.

DUDE! I did the same hahahah. I picked up some random penalties to try B rated lobbies, and damn, THEY ARE SO FUN. I'd rather play in B rated lobbies for the rest of my life lmao
A and B seem to be the best lobbies. and open class lobbies are cleaner I noticed.
I'm interested how they work it out with 5 different safety ratings let say they break down the 5000 by 3 also there's 4 to 5 different races each week in theory that splits the player base by alot however it seems like they just something that's not actually used its just there for show and doesn't actually work or they haven't t switched it on yet

lol just got into sim racing and i bought this game and realized how bad i am as a driver lol
spent a good amount of 100 levels in the campaign to learn how to play these games
and after that went into my first multiplayer,
qualified with S rating
at driver skill at 1100 lol xD
after 100 level of playing in multiplayer
i can finally complete races with out the DNF title
and its great seeing how ive been progressing
but im dying cuz im probably just as bad as these drivers
I laughed my ass off when that guy pit maneuvered himself against the front of your car, lol.
The ratings are so bad atm. I’m currently an A4,987 (should be S) and 95% of my races are wreckfests. I’ve had maybe 2-3 other guys at my skill level give me a good run.
If I don’t party up with friends I either qualify and dominate or skip quali and get beat to hell on my way to a P3 or better finish.
maybe if you qualify in 1st then finish the race in last is better to achieve 1000 skill rating
I'm in S and around 4.3-4.5k skill rating and I have seen worse driving than this, its actually better to not qualify as you will be able to pre-empt the carnage ahead.

how are you getting over 60fps on an online race? mine is capped at 60
So, the driving rating system is borked. The matchmaking is borked. The single player is borked. What isn't borked in this game?

To be completely honest. The top rated lobbies are the exact same.
There are no top-rated lobbies. The matchmaker fills by first come, first served. They are just lobbies. No rating.

Some days I can go from S to D just because of my anger management issues 😅 but the back to S in a few races 😊

The safety rating must include off track penalties too cuz no way u went from b to c with literally no collisions but 8 second penalty time
Highest rated lobbies are the same, i always qualify 1st to third, i never finish a race higher than 10th unless i start first and gain some margin for them not to torpedo me…. I’m starting to hate online races. The first corner is always tragic 🤣
Sector scores =skill rating .
Get 8 and over per sector =high skill rating
Under 6 per sector =low skill score
The skill rating isnt broken, people just dont grasp the sector/skill relationship
If anything, this proves that the system, even if unrefined at this point in the game's lifecycle, makes racing better. This was missing for years, so much time in the series wasted with subpar multiplayer experiences.
I think also there are players who purposely want to have lower ratings for easier matchups in multiplayer, wouldn’t be the first someone does it..
Well, I saw a few 200+ level players in Qualifier series. Probably enjoying clubbing seals all day long on the same 3 tracks.
@@JustDevon those are definitely farming skill points or worse everytime they get sent back to lower safety tiers go there to get it back up to S to join us… a GT lobby last night I had two guys with DQ’s in my lobby.. I am S and 4800 skill.. like 😭😂
@@JustDevonit is possible some of them spend a lot of time in campaign before trying multiplayer. Definitely not all of them tho

its so incredibly depressing how awful this game is. i dont understand how anyone can defend this.
the skill ratings and safety ratings are so weird
anything below S is destruction derby and even at the peak of the skill rating, i will still be faster on old hards at the end of the race than people who just pitted for softs
id really love to see stats on how many players are on which group and how much it fluctuates because it feels like theyre almost meaningless in some cases
That`s not true the S lobbys are the same destruction derbys. Cause the matchmakings and rankings just smoke and mirrors.

the default setups in forza are so bad, no downforce and have too much oversteer.. They need to fix that.
Absolutely pride myself on clean, fair racing, if i cause an accident ill say "sorry" without fail. I have an S rating with a skill score of about 4400 yet im done with this shit, What's the point of trying to race clean when some twat dive bombs from 300 meters away, smacks me off the track, i lose multiple places and he doesn't even get a time penalty. Way to frustrating to fing enjoyable.

Just a typical race in Forza whatever your rating. I experience exactly the same thing as an S rated driver with over 4500 skill
you can get a dnf if you cut a corner and gain a chunk of time.
Overtaking off-track will get you big penalties.
They're in the same lobby because there is only one or two lobbies.

How is your fps over 60 online?
At a higher refresh rate the frame rate lock is increased. 144hz monitor is capped at 72 fps.
There’s also not enough people playing I think so it’s a mix of the best and the worst 😮

considering the rating only goes up to 5000, I don't think you should be able to get 1000 points in one race.
Skill matching is broken. I’m S 4933 right now and I’m still getting matched with total assholes…
Actually your rating should double in that race!!! The goal of the rating isn't an olympic sport it's to have fun races. The system sees you as a higher rank player than you were and moved you there!
This is depressing, I tried my best to get a good rating and only achieved S Rank 1,499 Skill Rating. Damn I must be horrible :(
This is mostly because of crashing. Overdriving the car and going too hot into corners. Brake early. Slow in, fast out.
1499 is really low. I think I´m a bad driver and my rating is around 3700.
This game is so flawed and the Horizon players are often driving like it is destruction derby...

If you really want to see why a lot of these racers are so slow, then you need to play using a controller. It so much more difficult to be smooth & consistent & therefore, fast.
Forza is faster on controller than wheel just a skill issue of ur slower on controller
@@joshthemigpro1733agreed, I do play on a wheel and could just say the only plus is cornering is much easier on a DD wheel. However we can be just as fast as controller players with the right setup 😊

Looks like ACC Public lobbies! 🤣 I bet the Forza GT lobby would be even worse at those ratings. Seriously, I swear if you just keep your nose clean and stay on track, you'll probably be rated S/4500 even if you are slow. The game does make it too easy to get skill rating meaning being high rated is effectively meaningless. And matchmaking fills lobbies way too fast, regularly leaving you racing guys seconds off the pace. I will say going from S/4980 to S/4996, suddenly the lobbies got cleaner. I don't know if that is because dirty drivers are finally being pushed down the rating, or if that small change got me in lobbies where people seem to understand how to avoid others better.
Yeah man, I came out of Qualifier series at S/4600 on my main account, when in reality, if ratings were done properly, I'd eventually work my way up to 4500 max. Now I'm at 4979, which should be the realm of the best players, imo.
Yeah. Do wish it was more like IRacing/LFM. Like the highest rating you should be able to get out of qualifier is 2500, and then can only gain 50-100 on a race based on strength of the lobby. Not sure it would matter with how lobbies are filled, but would at least give a bit of meaning to progression. Only really competitive lobby I managed to end up in seemed to be a VNX group lobby, and that was a lot of fun.
@Kaylos29 Even LFM in ACC is a gamble. Still way better than open lobbies. But soon enough forza will split into leagues for people that want a cleaner race and public lobby mayhem.
@@jeremyt7722 Yeah. They need to add Practice/Qualify and accelerated Tire Wear, in addition to making private lobbies stable first really. Private lobbies are pretty bad, much worse than normal multiplayer for stability.

The thing i hate the most...is the quantity of dumbasses that keep on playing this game...and still say that it is a good game!!! I spent 50 bucks on the vip membership, and i must say in all fayrness...the game sucks as hell!!! Yes the gameplay on contriler is great, the online is adictive, but in the end you end up racing against all kind of racing trolls that the one goal they have is to mess your race up!!!! HOW COULD TURN TEN RELEASE THIS GAME...THIS MESSSED UP GAME!!!! Want my money back!!!
