    I have 2d battery and True isolator installed. I have a winch, front led light bar and reverse lights, and a dual volt meter on my 2022 Pioneer.
    I do not have a fuse box, or bus bar and everything works fine. Why would I need them?

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  Рік тому

      Sounds like you got some accessories. Do you have every thing just hooked to the batteries or does the 2022 have a fuse block for each accessory with a fuse link?
      Reason for the blocks is to separate your positive terminals on a fuse link and If there is any issue with a accessory you would just undo the wire from said block and hook up a new accessory. The cool thing about the blocks also is having the fuse to protect that one accessory.

    I’ve got a 2023 pioneer 1000-6. I added the Hondasxs 12” light bar that is wired in with the high beams. My lights have recently quit working. Low beam and high beam/light bar. From what I read through some of these comments here and on forums, I shouldn’t need a dual battery to do this. Do you have any idea what the issue could be? I’m all for putting in a dual battery if necessary. Thanks for any input.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  11 місяців тому

      Honestly for one light bar or even two light bars. You don’t need the dual battery set up.
      On the light at and lights it’s got to be a fuse that just blew. I would check the fuses and see if one’s blown. If so just up the fuse a a few amps and you should be good. Also probably wouldn’t be a bad idea if you added a relay to the light bar hot wire that goes to the high beams just to help from getting the fuse hot. Let me know if you need anymore help or to look up a part for you. Thanks for watching

    So what your telling me if you don’t add dual battery and your main battery goes low it’s going to. Damage your DCT ??????????

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 роки тому +1

      No that's not what I'm saying. You don't have to add a extra battery if your NOT gonna use a lot of accessories such as winch. EXAMPLE--The only time this would be a issue is if say you was stuck in a mudhole and you was using your winch to pull yourself out and trying to shift at the same time as the winch is pulling a lot of voltage from your battery and the battery is low you could damage your DCT. If you had a dual battery setup the extra battery would be hooked up to the winch therefor not affecting your main battery as it needs 12 volts to work your clutch properly. Your main battery will work the DCT just fine even when its low if your running a light or so fourth.
      ONLY if you are using a lot of accessories or a big accessory (such as a winch) would this be a problem. The tru dual system is just a added insurance to protect your machines DCT. For me and my machine im running 4 lightbars ,radio, and winch so I would rather buy the kit than replace a DCT.

    Why dual battery’s why not just one heavier battery ?????

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 роки тому

      Your main battery needs to be used for the pioneer electronics only, such as your dct clutch. You do not want to shift at a low volltage due to damaging your dct. The extra battery takes the load of all your accessories without pulling any volts from your primary battery. A larger battery will not fit in the factory battery location but there is two battery compartments in the front that allows you to run two of the same size batteries.

    Hey there. May I ask a question that I can't seem to find an answer to? Why can't a larger capacity battery just be installed? Instead of a second with all the extra wiring.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  Рік тому

      Hello, With the pioneer running the battery in the front under the hood. That don't leave much room for a larger battery. Plus with a certain battery dimension for the tray you are limited on battery sizes. If you hooking up a few accessories then you should be fine on a regular battery but if your running a lot of accessories the second battery is a plus. Another good thing about two batteries is if one dies you can jump from the other if needed.

    • @bobbybarnes1652
      @bobbybarnes1652 Рік тому +1

      You can add a much larger battery under the driver's seat (and run long cables back there), but I would do that in ADDITION to the primary battery and the True Am isolator. The purpose of the isolator is to protect your main battery (responsible for starting the vehicle and operating the DCT, which is very picky when it comes to voltage) in the event that you run your accessories a long time and run the 2nd battery down. Without an isolator or other means to disconnect the two batteries, even with a larger battery, you run the risk of not being able to start your Pioneer and get home. EVERYTHING aftermarket should be powered by the AUX battery, including the winch (move the main leads even if factory or dealer installed). If you want the option to run your accessories with the key OFF, then you can install a DPDT switch that will allow you to (a) run it all normally via key-on power, (b) run any/all accessories connected to the AUX battery and fuse panel just by flipping the switch, or (c) put the switch in the middle position and not allow any accessory to run.

    Thanks my man! Liberty or death!! Love the flag. So I was looking heavily into other aftermarket roofs but after seeing your top 10 mods and keeping the Honda roof I feel that’s the best bet. I heard some of the ranch armor and larger ones can make it too heavy.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 роки тому +2

      Your welcome and thank you. Me personally I have had my pioneer in some pretty crazy spots while retrieving deer and I have to say its held up flawless against trees and things hanging down that I have to push through. I really like the armor stuff and some of the aluminum or metal flat tops. But they don't work as good as the factory Honda tops. The main reason I like the Honda roof is the contour of it. It hangs over just enough on the front for a sun visor, it comes down on the back corners over the rear of the cage and it routes water away from the sides so you don't get soaked when it raining. They are just a great engineered part that holds up to stress and time.

  • @chuckersw
    @chuckersw 3 роки тому +1

    What is the main benefit of adding the second battery? Just curious...

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  3 роки тому +2

      Its to help protect the dual electric clutch (dct). if your battery gets low on volts from running accessories it can damage your clutch. Adding the extra battery and running your accessories off of your secondary battery leaves your factory battery to keep your dct with full voltage for shifting.

    • @bobbybarnes1652
      @bobbybarnes1652 Рік тому

      @@pineylife It benefits the DCT because it protects the original battery from running low. The other benefit from protecting that same battery is that you're not left stranded somewhere because you can't start your SXS to get home.

      If your aux battery is not getting charged up while riding around (assuming you're doing more than 3 minute rides), then you've got an issue somewhere with the wiring, one or more of the charging components (e.g., stator, regulator/rectifier, etc.), a battery, or the isolator. The OEM charging system on a Talon or Pioneer is more than adequate to keep up with the average load of accessories, provided you're not trying to pull 1.21 gigawatts at once.

      Mil Survival mine was all red and black. The only yellow and blue wire I have In my harness is the yellow from the radio and it’s hooked to the auxiliary battery and the blue wire is not hooked up till I decide if I’m running a amp. Is your yellow and blue coming off each switch?

      My 52 inch light bar recommended a 25 amp fuse. so since I'm running two light bars on each side and a 14 inch on the back I just added 25 amp fuses to all my accessories. I haven't had any issues since the install. Thanks for watching

      Yes sir, I have absolutely no problems. This time of year I’m running lights on recovering deer (running the front 52.inch light bar, radio, back lights and sometimes side lights)Radio is being used back in forth to my lease. Cold weather has not affected either battery at all. I’m extremely pleased with the kit and would recommend it to anyone who is gonna run a lot of accessories or a big winch. It’s worth the money.

      @@dustycrawley5215 Actually the isolator will have power on it all the time because its hooked to both batteries. It does not effect anything or theres no power usage from it having power to it when the switch is off... I have dual volt gauge on my batteries that display the voltage on each battery even while the switch is off so i can see what volt the batteries are at all times... The pioneer alternator charges the batteries after you start driving and the isolator just sends voltage to each battery as it they need it.

    Well I got my True dual battery set up in my pioneer over the weekend. It wasn't to bad, just time consuming. I don't have a lot of stuff, winch, front light bar, 2-rear lights, and a phone charger port. I got the one with a relay for the dual voltage meters, powers them with key on, so they shut off when key is off. Take care, good luck bow hunting, bow season started today here in Missouri.

    So you didn't install one of those stinger relay's ? I'm thinking about doing a dual battery in my 1000 Pioneer, I'm not sure exactly what the stinger does, and if you need it. Thanks !

      Tim Sr. No i didn’t install a stinger. I didn’t install anything extra than what come with the tru dual kit. And mine has worked flawlessly for 2 years. I have put a little over 800 miles on my pioneer. Hope this helps.

    • @pineylife

      Tim Sr. To be honest the battery install is pretty easy. Now wiring the accessories can be time consuming. The main thing that I would say helped me was that I installed all my switch’s and stereo on the panel. Then I ran extra wire from them , marked them and zipped tied them, that way I had plenty of wire to deal with once the panel was installed. That made hooking to the fuse block and ground block so much easier.
