Person who can actually read Japanese here! As it turns out, there's actually full English instructions available but I gotta say you did a pretty good job interpreting from the pictures alone. Honestly, this is probably one of the only times I’ve seen a UA-camr do a Japanese candy kit the right way 😂 they’re more about the process of making them rather than the taste
I mean you did pretty well considering you couldn't read the instructions. These kind of kits are so common and so popular in Japan. In fact there's a lot of Japanese candy in general that requires crazy amounts of work. There's this candy called Neri Ame, where it's basically this incredibly sticky melted sugar like substance, and you knead it between two chopsticks until the color changes and it becomes less transparent. It takes so much effort because it's so thick and sticky, but it's super sweet and tasty. Also it'll make a mess. Maybe you could try it some time?
Thanks for supplying my mother and I with another great Brutal Foods. My mom wanted to let you know that she thought the editing in this video was your best work by far. She had a blast with this video. My mom and I, can't wait till your next one.
I think one of my favorite Ian edits is in the Texas desserts video when he moves the Ian cam around to show the preview screen of the main camera, and then edits the main camera video back on top of the camera and zooms into it.
The Popin' Cookin' stuff isn't supposed to taste like what it looks like. It's usually candy-flavored. I dunno what the hamburger one is, but the ramen one is soda and the sushi is like... generic gummy nonsense. They're all awful tasting, though. 99% of the joy is just the cooking (ramen and sushi both have weird food magic, which is why I even remember doing them). The other 1% comes from the potential of tricking other people into eating them instead of you.
Sad potato I can dig that, but only if you make your full name iSad Potato & the Generic Gunny Nonsense. *Coming soon to a Walmart bargain bin near you.*
I had a pretty big mental breakdown and then I watched this and I feel at least 86% better (I was also petting my dog so that is a factor that I did not scientifically account for). Very amazing content. Makes me much happier and calmer and less bad feeling

You're more scared of powdered cheese than powdered MEAT?
Yea I’m pretty sure you theoretically powder cheese
I mean you did pretty well considering you couldn't read the instructions. These kind of kits are so common and so popular in Japan. In fact there's a lot of Japanese candy in general that requires crazy amounts of work. There's this candy called Neri Ame, where it's basically this incredibly sticky melted sugar like substance, and you knead it between two chopsticks until the color changes and it becomes less transparent. It takes so much effort because it's so thick and sticky, but it's super sweet and tasty. Also it'll make a mess. Maybe you could try it some time?
I keep reading your "Don't Read This" sign.
It changes to "stop reading this" partway through the video. Well played Ian
Rebel
That's how they get you
Stop! You have violated the law!

THE "DIG SHOVEL" QUOTE AT 2:35 IS FROM THE POLAR EXPRESS VIDEO GAME FROM FOREVER AGO I CAN'T BELIEVE KNOWLEDGE OF THAT GAME HAS COME IN HANDY
Thanks for supplying my mother and I with another great Brutal Foods. My mom wanted to let you know that she thought the editing in this video was your best work by far. She had a blast with this video. My mom and I, can't wait till your next one.
I was laughing within the first 5 seconds, Ian's on his own level
These vids don't appear often, but they're worth the wait.
Ian : "How do I put ketchup on a hamburger?"
Me : "Ugh I love him so much"
I do love me some Bread Powder.
Powdered Toast Man approves.
Paper powder better
Nah coke powder is the best
HEY that sign in the back is changing!
It went from *DON'T READ ME* to *STOP READING THIS*
Because it noticed you were reading it.
Why did you not listen to it
I thought you were a protaytoefessional
Now ain't that genius?? Man, Ian ruuuules!
“Ya don’t want lumpy buns”
Wiser words have never been spoken.
Your cooking vids are one of the funniest things on youtube. The editing is so hilarious.
Keep up the good work
My ferret liked this with her nose, way to earn it 👍

Incidentally, "savoury and bad" is how I imagine it smells in an abattoir.
Thank you for introducing me to the word “abattoir” and compelling me to look up what it means. You learn something new every day
@eightmillionmaddies I did not particularly expect what I found when I looked that up.
Your editing is my favorite. I love the calm jazz music mixed with YTP style stuff thrown in. Actually very relaxing! Thanks Ian :)
I can't stop reading the "Don't Read This!" sign. I think I'm stuck pls help it's a trap.
C'mon ! You can do it ! I could !

its how you get in the telivoid
stop reading it
Today I learned that Japanese words come from Japan. Thank you brutalmoose!
Love your food reviews man. Your editing is just flawless.
Keep it up b.
Ps. Major " Big cook, Lil cook" vibes from that intro.
2:41 the editing just becomes surreal at a certain point
I think one of my favorite Ian edits is in the Texas desserts video when he moves the Ian cam around to show the preview screen of the main camera, and then edits the main camera video back on top of the camera and zooms into it.
I failed you Ian. I read your sign.
Generic Gummy Nonsense is my new band name
Sad potato I can dig that, but only if you make your full name iSad Potato & the Generic Gunny Nonsense.
*Coming soon to a Walmart bargain bin near you.*
“Is this how I die?”
Literally me anytime I get in trouble tbh.
*cuts fries in a bowl * "This is hard " LOL
that dont read this sign is officially the canonical villain of this series because of how annoying it is alone
it changes to "stop reading this" by 21:03
You're a little late, Ian. I ate Safeway pasta Tuesday night. Where were you?!
the cloning process proved difficult for little Ian
Albertsons counts lol
He's little and he's late!
*Little Ian has taken the world by storm.....*
Hopefully he makes a return.
I had a pretty big mental breakdown and then I watched this and I feel at least 86% better (I was also petting my dog so that is a factor that I did not scientifically account for). Very amazing content. Makes me much happier and calmer and less bad feeling
the way you tell your jokes in a manner-of-fact sort of dead pan way always gets me! Love seeing your vids, Ian!
