Great New Zealand bred jockey and trainer - Wonderful Aussie horse!
Who'd rather live in Australia 👍🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely love these on board videos! They are so good.
Irad Ortiz on the favourite was in the stalls looking behind him, expecting the withdrawn horse to be loaded up as he did not know horses here can be withdrawn at the start. Apparently that does not happen in America.
Then the starter let them go when he was not ready.
@@seanscanlon9067 the American horses are also used to the bell. It's a shame he missed the start, but nothing was beating Nature Strip.
The stripe made us proud... what a flog the race caller is
They should have had the camera on Wesley Ward's horse Golden Pal. That way he could have filmed them all....lol.
It's amazing Tom how people get sucked in to horses like golden pal, they are ok around a turn with a short straight, but useless on a straight track. That's 3 times he's been beaten in the UK and yet the punters came back for more. Yes he did miss the start, but rushed up to the lead and was spent at the half way mark. In racing there are no certainties but nature strip was as close to one as you would ever see on a race track.
I forgot to say loved your comment.
@@iansmith587 You are right on. Ward blamed the jock last year saying he moved too early. This year he brings Ortiz over and now will put the blame on him...looking around and not being ready.
Ward claims this is the best horse he ever trained? Maybe it is....but down under it is far from the Best!
Another thing worth mentioning is in America they almost all race on lasix, not that there is any advantage there as every horse in the race is on it. About 35 years ago I read a good article written by a veterinarian who said it's worth about 5 lengths to a horse. Now maybe wesley ward doesn't use it, but if he does racing without it puts him in the very ordinary bracket.
Burn
I think Jaime Spencer knew the writing was on the wall... the only way his horse had a chance was if he wasn't on it 🤣
this horse has gotten better with age. Waller has the golden touch.
Easy work for Nature Strip.. well done 👌
The filming jockey is basically busting his guts the whole way just trying to keep up with the thing idling in front. Whoopee!
🤣🤣🤣
We All in OZ just how good Nature Strip is . . . Now the World knows 🐴 SuperStar
Yeh but he's one of many
J Mac was sat MOTIONLESS for much of the trip and then just had to nudge him out , he's SOME sprinter Nature Strip PULVERIZED them is putting it mildly
and then he rode tasman bay over 1m2 like another 5f sprint, legend.
Love the view
AWESOMENESS
Great video 👍
Fantastic
J Mac pure class again in the hunt cup! World Class Jockey no doubts about that , would nearly give my eye teeth to see William Pike riding in the UK now THAT would also be quite something to behold , the Wizard is also top quality
Pike butchers half his rides
@@smoketyresnotcrack5442 ok, i'll take Jamie Kah! Pike is still top class WHEN he wants to be
Jamie kah is top class!
@@smoketyresnotcrack5442 and , so much better looking than Pike :)
@@smoketyresnotcrack5442 top class on the class A
Cool vision
Great ride by the jockey, in the fluorescent green silks, I think they finished 3rd. He jumped in front of Nature Strip, and when NS cruised up beside and then past him he did not panic, knew he could not go with him, but slipped streamed, and got his horse to chase NS. Follow this horse, because he just raced on his maximum pain threshold, and stuck to his task.
Wow!!!!!
It was actually a pretty impressive run by the riderless horse. Obviously it makes a huge difference not to be carrying any weight, but it made up about 25 lengths.
Jockeys claim of 1.5 and Horses claim of a jockey does help
When they interviewed the horse at the end of the race he said he let Nature Strip win.
@@GG-kc6ie And the horse went on to win the Jubilee yesterday at 100-1
Gee whizz he had the rest of the field off the bit a fair way out.
This is superb. Australian horse power at its finest. Nature Strip erasing all doubt by demolishing a G1 field by 5Lengths.
Aussie Aussie too good a great jock on board hope he enjoyed the ride, a mile too good.
YAAAAAAA
Fantastic view of a world champion
THRASHED THE VERY BEST UK HAS TO OFFER!
ON THEIR HOME GROUND!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Like we usually do.
Carrying 126 lbs can drag you down that much?
Could have won by 10 lengths if he pushed the button earlier.
Nursed the horse and brained them
Pulling away and waltzed in,in Australia he has competition
Equilateral is obviously a very good horse himself.
just wonder that the riderless horse made the distance to the rest larger over the last hundred. He did not want to be beaten and spotted a threat ?
JMac also came out and said that he didn't know he was riderless until quite near the end... so yes, I think you're right, he did contribute to the gap.
Maybe inspired by the winner here, that loose horse managed to win QEII Jubilee Stakes in the following two years.
One of the jockeys fell off. Very unusual on a flat race.
So dangerous!
Hong Kong Jockey club won’t allow this. 😂😂😂
The American horse was disappointing
Yeah it was shit one paced
after failing twice here already I'm not sure why many expected different
@@mjj1701 I think many side with the fact he’s advertised as the best horse
His race was over at the gate, and Irad overraced, ugly all around, sadly. But i just don’t think he had a chance against Nature Strip, a battle-hardened vet facing his weakest field in four years. Add to that the team of Waller-JMac, an all-time great partnership currently in a purple patch, and this was always going to be Nature Strip in full command, didn’t need to get out of cruise control, could have put more distance on the field two more furlongs, a training jog basically, but he got the job done. Now the hard work begins defending his Everest crown.
The amazing thing about the race was the odds about Nature Strip.
Too easy
just as well that riderless horse didn't hinder our great australian sprinter, nature strip not stripe.
TBH, maybe inspired by the winner here, that loose horse managed to win QEII Jubilee Stakes in the following two years. BTW, that veteran race caller (called commentator in UK or track announcer in US), Ian Bartlett, did make a amateur mistake here. Sorry about that.
Who else got golden pal 10/1 oppss jus me brahhh
