lol the dancing here is awful imo. It's indicative of how so many frontmen in the early-mid 90's were during live performances, that kinda spastic "mommy I'm mad I want my blankey and a juice box now!" arm flailing. Fiona Apple did the same thing. So glad he grew out of this phase

I saw stp in 94 and 10....94 scott was at his peak...blew this show away. They did core and purple in their entirety...note for note on the vocals...when scott was on during the 90s he was among the best front men of all time
The 2010 set was great and I thought they sounded great...but 94 stp was a force to be reckoned with
I never got the chance to see him with STP, but saw him in ‘05 with Velvet Revolver. While it was obvious he wasn’t physically in a good place, he still managed to sing every note. He sure wasn’t 90’s Scott, and I’d have given anything to witness that in person.. but he blew me away that he could be so obviously out of it yet still so in point at that stage

It was both. The drugs were a crutch to fight through his mental illness. He was a very troubled man, but he gave us so much. So many people, including me are alive because of his words and voice. I miss him dearly.

I read his autobiography and you're right, he started using heroin sometime during this '93 Core Tour. He looked pretty healthy and sounded great during the '94 Purple tour too but by the time of the Tiny Music era of 95-96 he had lost some weight/mass and then entered the era of kind of ups and downs. He'd clean up, relapse, repeat. Sad, but at least Scott's legacy lives on though great videos like this online!
When you’re young everything is possible. The body doesn’t feel the consequences of the drugs, alcohol, parties, etc. But someday you’ll have to pay for it. Scott was just one more victim of the drugs. That’s too sad 😢

RHCP STP Nirvana & later on Soundgarden were the best of 90s. I was exactly their age didn't get into them until much later I regret that I guess I was struggling at that time and too much was going on. Now I see where Scott got all his moves ...amazing.

The only way to describe the feeling in the air back then and those days, well you just had to be there to know what it was like. An indescribable energy and optimism in the air. Grunge and the anything goes attitude of the '90s was a direct result reaction to the glamor Rock/Rock and roll love ballads despair of the mid to late '80s

I saw them on this tour and honestly they set the bar pretty high for the bands I saw after them. They sounded absolutely fantastic live. Close to the album but obviously a slightly different, cool, live version. Then there was Scott's energy. I don't know if I've seen any other singers that matched his energy. He was an amazing singer and a fantastic performer. Honestly, the whole band was just fantastic. I started learning guitar a few months ago and I'm learning one or two STP songs and I can really appreciate the beauty of the songs that these guys wrote. The comparisons to Pearl Jam were utterly stupid. I saw both of them play in the same year. Anyone who saw the two couldn't honestly believe they were cut from the same cloth.

He’s a well fed Scott at this point, at 5’11, he’s almost unrecognizable as the Weiland off 2000 onwards. I personally think he went through a transformation with not only drugs but choice in foods. He looks healthy and lithe in 2001 during his sobriety. He looks almost like a typical Long Beach skate kid during the early years like in this vid, and turns into a thin, art-house rock frontman from 2000 onwards.
Yeah, he was obsessed with David Bowie and guys like Steven Tyler..he was not “grunge” or did he want to be…he hardly would eat allegedly to get that “rockstar” frontman look

I went to see them at Leeds Town and Country Club on the 27th October 1994. The gig was really crazy mosh fest. I have been to more gigs than brain cells but this one sticks out - They are doing a few gigs in the UK this year. Dont think it will be the same without Scott but hoping to check them out... again

This video is perfect to debunk the myth that young Scott equals best singing-Scott. He did all these songs even better in the late nineties and killed vasoline frequently with Velvet Revolver. Still, of course, he is good in this video and he looked so fuckin healthy.
He must of had proper/ correct singing technique. Many bands singers sing incorrectly and lose / damage their voices quickly. Both (backup) actually got better.

jdbankshot sometimes broadcasts are relegated to use the “room mix” live or just tap out of whatever the main mix with no editing, usually sounds a lot like this video (very loud vocals, soft overheads and drums and just overall imbalance) what sounds good in the room might not sound good broadcast. I think if anyone’s gonna broadcast anything it should ALWAYS have its own separate mix. However... that being said I do agree that kick sounds like garbage in the beginning of this video.
