Exactly the video I was looking for! Now I can better understand how these function. I found bearing material in my oil on my 1.8 cis Gti motor and the rod bearings looked great. For sure expected a spun rod bearing. We think it’s IM bearings instead and see now how to inspect /remove them. Thank you for posting! Hope to see a full engine rebuild video if you can swing it.
I figure you machined the 43-46mm driver for the outside bushing yourself, but the 42-45mm for the inside one looks branded, is it readily available ?. Would be great to share anything you know, before I go cutting up a good shaft.
@@darrenjbartlett The shaft could be broke like the one I replaced in the video or worn . You should replace the bearings if you replace the shaft and unfortunately the only way to do it is to remove the motor. It could also be a worn shaft seal housing. That will be a lot easier to do. I would replace the seal while your at it. Good luck

Thanks for making the video, solves my issues with a vr6 bearing install! Also, nice touch with the Khruangbin!
You make this look 8 million times easier than it is…
When installing the gearbox side bearing make sure it's facing the right way as it has a groove for dizzy gear lubrication.
Lovely job! Xx

Is that a bottom bracket press - for bicycles ? Brilliant.
Super work from india
Top notch video. Question. Is the intermediate shaft outer flange metal to metal with the outer bearing housing?
What happened with the scirocco ? I have a 79.5 special edition myself, or that's what people tell me it is.
What ever happened to the scirocco ?
where can i get the tools to do this or how did you make your home made tool? thanks
Snap-on and home depot. The bearings are very soft and are easily damaged. You could also use a press but maneuvering a block in press can be tricky.
Great video, very helpful! Where did you source the new bearings from?
Thanks, Vee Parts.
Would this stop too much endfloat?

@@rowflopar1 hai if you purchase the bushes is it already machined to size and is all the bushes standard.

I don't know the part number but Vee parts have them.
hi long time not see you. question finish the green scirocco
Yes, I got it going!
@@rowflopar1 I hope you make a video to show it off. your body work videos were extremely helpful.
Are both bushings the same ?
No
Step 1: pull the engine 😂
Hey! Stumbled across your channel and found it very helpful. Any chance you’re active on IG?
