For improving the arm movement, you could make shoulder plates that are connected to the chest and back plate instead of the arms. That way you are gonna be able to make them in a way that they can lift up when ever you lift up your arms. It will also make it easier to install artificial muscle there if you are planning on also putting it on your upper back or the shoulders

You are insane(in a good way of course)😁. I can't imagine that somebody can do it for so cheap. I thought it would tale millions only for research of materials. You are amazing. Please made the whole suit sooner because I can't wait.
I have seen other youtubers trying to make the suit, they are doing a great job but they are just building the body and something attached to it. You are doing a fabulous job as you are actually building an iron man suit which has everything technology related to weapons, safety which can be used in wars for. Cheers man, goodluck 🎉
Alex you’ve got my respect man I never seen a guy do such a realistic real Work on a iron man suit ever before congrats I hope Robert Downey Jr. come and meet you someday
Love your videos Alex Lab! As an engineer around the world watching, I have so many more ideas than you would ever want to hear about how to build the suit! I've worked on a couple similar projects of my own, you're right, armor is hard- I would recommend avoiding joints all together, and instead of trying to make a metal joint that doesn't limit mobility to much, focus on covering most of your body. Then use straps around the joints the connect upper arm pieces to lower arm pieces, upper arm to torso, and lower arm to hand. Then if you really feel like you need armor around the joint, use either chain mail, or make a small pully system attached to a small metal plate that would cover the joint so that when you go to move your arm for example, the flexion of the bicep will pull on the pully, drawing the small metal plate (covering the joint) away from the joint so your arm has room to bend. That's just my first thought, thanks so much for all the awesome, inspiring stuff you're doing, I love it!
The Iron Man Suit doesn't need Tony's Arc Reactor that he had in his chest to work. The suit had it's own reactor in the chest part, hence Rhodey could fly the Mark II and you can see later in the movie, that they removed the reactor when they were making it into War Machine.
You are the great inspiration to me I had also been indulged on how to have an iron man suit real since I was in class 5th I think you should add a little bullet launching mechanism on shoulders ,an AI based system such as Alexa or Google assistant controlling all movement in the suit, a hydrogen plasma cutter in arms and much more
alexa or google assistant cant be used for a targeting algorithm, however he can ask a programer to write one for him it aint that hard w the stuff we already have and know
I can't tell if he's literally fabricating a piece of science fiction in front of my eyes or a very nice looking set of metal armor, which is the best thing about me watching this channel.
I think you need to read an anatomy book for muscles. It would be very useful. Then I think the armor should consist of 3 layers. In the first layer, there will be a coating that will cover our skin. In the second layer there should be muscles motor wiring conduit and other things. The third layer should be the outer armor, that is, it should be the hardest layer, so it should actually be like our skin. If I have any other ideas, I will write again.Actually, I would like to do this too, but I have no time and no money so I cannot. I hope one day I can do something like you🙃
You set the fire in my heart man, your videos give me the sudden urge to dive towards my 3d printer and start working on my next massive project. Absolute legend my man.
The difference between Hacksmith and Alex is that Alex does more research and uses more science while Hacksmith uses mechanics and already known existing devices
@@BusinessWolf1 Yeah but that doesn't mean I would wear a hazmat suit and tie myself to a helicopter and call myself Iron Man. This is exactly the kind of shit Hacksmith does.
@@its_argho There is currently no way to go up without it showing. Hacksmith made a cool ground suit. Also, by making these suits after iron man's we are limiting ourselves to that, when if we did it a different way it would be better.
@@BusinessWolf1 Then don't call it an Ironman suit. Call it a jetpack or I don't know flight suit. What essentially this does is you see the thumbnail, damn he made an Ironman suit, lemme watch it, and then you get disappointed because your expectations are to see an Ironman suit, not a helicopter.

Hey Alex....lots of love from Canada. I stumbled upon your part 2 video first and I just love how passionate and dedicated you are to your project. I love how you can be funny and yet serious all at the same time and the way you keep your fans/audiences captivated by how informative your content is. I can't wait to see your project fully completed. You're such a professional. Keep going Alex...you got this. Make it happen.
I have some suggestions (which you sort of implied that you wanted in the video so I'm going to take that as an invitation): I might be young and not know what I am talking about, but you could try to make the reactor a different shape inside the chassis of the chest plate. Changing the geometry of it and maintaining the volume will keep the aesthetic and probably allow more function. I don't know if you would be willing to do this because it's true to the movie the way you have it. I made some sketches of a possible way to increase mobility (*there is a link below*). I could make this in CAD if my drawings look terrible, but this is the best I could do with the time that I have. The addition to the arm is that it is possible for rotation in the forearm. The sliding thing would be curved around the base of the joint side of the forearm part of the brace thing. It might be misleading because the sketches are not isotropic 3D sketches. I doubt it will really work that well and there would be a lot of friction. You could obviously lubricate the slide-well. Here is the google slide I put it on: docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-7Umfda_X4T6M-7vCcw0OyawN4sK0U2P2rQ-9SIPVJ4/edit?usp=sharing I would also invest in sorbothane. It's pretty good cushioning in my opinion. It could protect you and the armor if you took some sort of impact or overload of forces. Like lets say a valve breaks for some reason... that wouldn't be good.
7:52 so internal thermoelectric plating, and a liquid cooling system with tubing run along areas where the body loses a lot of heat. that way you can always warm or cool your body, and if the liquid coolant gets too hot you can start harvesting that heat with the thermoelectrics to power active cooling. I'm definitely got some ideas for joints and attachment points as well, but I'm going to try to put them down on paper and maybe make a video
Alex, you're awesome 🙏🏻♥️ I'm glad to see you don't need to hear this, because I see there is no lack of motivation in you, but you are making so many interesting and useful discoveries all while making other people's (and your) dreams come true!

Imagine making a self powered suit which produces its own fuels, increases ur strength, has 2 types of repulsors, bullet proof and light weight ! Man ur a legend Alex u single handedly made 75% of the iron man suit while other youtubers r struggling to make iron man gauntlets lol .RESPECT!

That's just my first thought, thanks so much for all the awesome, inspiring stuff you're doing, I love it!
you should try to put this comment on the other comment of his where he asks us to give him ideas!
I love his thumbnails as they are very simple and based on real thing, which not include fancy unnecessary graphics.
The Iron Man Suit doesn't need Tony's Arc Reactor that he had in his chest to work. The suit had it's own reactor in the chest part, hence Rhodey could fly the Mark II and you can see later in the movie, that they removed the reactor when they were making it into War Machine.
I dont know why. but this guy makes me happy. I just discovered your channel and you motivation and charisma is just what youtube needs
I liked this video without having watched the video because I love how similar you are to ivan vanko in iron man
You are the great inspiration to me
I had also been indulged on how to have an iron man suit real since I was in class 5th
I think you should add a little bullet launching mechanism on shoulders ,an AI based system such as Alexa or Google assistant controlling all movement in the suit, a hydrogen plasma cutter in arms and much more
alexa or google assistant cant be used for a targeting algorithm, however he can ask a programer to write one for him it aint that hard w the stuff we already have and know
you should try to put this comment on the other comment of his where he asks us to give him ideas!!!
Most underrated tech building channel on the platform
If you are able to fly with this suit than you are absolutely insane!
I can't tell if he's literally fabricating a piece of science fiction in front of my eyes or a very nice looking set of metal armor, which is the best thing about me watching this channel.
I can't stress how smart this guy is.
This stuff he's doing needs more recognition. The algorithm is messing him over.
_Alex_ : I better not film welding part or I'll get demonized... 12:39
_Also Alex_ : But I gotta film the shooting part! 13:42
I don't think that's why he didn't film it. Pretty sure he didn't film it because the brightness of the arc can damage the camera sensor.
I hope one day I can do something like you🙃
you should try to put this comment on the other comment of his where he asks us to give him ideas!!!!
Yeah like the military exoskeleton that is in work or those exoskeleton that helps paralyzed people to walk with some modifications
The one that covers our skin should also have padding in it as well, to prevent bruises if one gets hit

Way better than that other guy who makes jet packs, slaps an iron man costume on it and calls it a real suit. He gets wayyy to much credit.
Completely agreed.
I mean.. you need a LOT of propulsion to get people high off the ground.

I love how you're using quotes from the movie!
I have some suggestions (which you sort of implied that you wanted in the video so I'm going to take that as an invitation):
I might be young and not know what I am talking about, but you could try to make the reactor a different shape inside the chassis of the chest plate.
Here is the google slide I put it on: docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-7Umfda_X4T6M-7vCcw0OyawN4sK0U2P2rQ-9SIPVJ4/edit?usp=sharing
I would also invest in sorbothane. It's pretty good cushioning in my opinion. It could protect you and the armor if you took some sort of impact or overload of forces. Like lets say a valve breaks for some reason... that wouldn't be good.
You r a genius kinda

7:52 so internal thermoelectric plating, and a liquid cooling system with tubing run along areas where the body loses a lot of heat. that way you can always warm or cool your body, and if the liquid coolant gets too hot you can start harvesting that heat with the thermoelectrics to power active cooling.
I'm definitely got some ideas for joints and attachment points as well, but I'm going to try to put them down on paper and maybe make a video
