Our definitions of "High End Machinery" differ quite a bit. All of his fab tools are very basic. Not counting the PC, it's $1500-$2000 for every tool used. That includes the welder and the printer (ender 5 if I'm not mistaken).

I know the hinge situation, you describe oil spilling out of the suit, oil in hydraulics in used as lubrication but also can be used in natural hinges. If you create a system that lubricates the exosuits hinges and bolt making mobility easier, you can save on complicated mechanisms

Electroplating is essentially reversing a battery's ionic charge from a cathode to anode so that the metal ions are deposited on the anode. Normally this would lead to battery failure, but in this case it is useful. Ironically (ionically? ;), this is how corrosion also functions, but in reverse.
For anyone working with carbon fibre sheets, be aware that once cured, carbon fibre bends in one direction, and is stiff in another direction. So if you had a square, it could flex on the x-axis, but hard as steel on the y-axis. Important to know which direction you want to be flexible e.g. flexible across your arm, but NOT flexible length-wise down your arm. (Hope that makes sense)
Hey! When slicing a model that has thin walls like the iron man forearms, make sure to print it with as MANY wall lines as possible do not use infill. Not only does it make the print stronger but the printer can lay filament faster

Yeah the real world has pretty much everything to make a real iron man suit except the ballistics side, iron man's suit is basically a flying tank for a human, we have the flying part sorted however a full body suit that is bulletproof just isn't there yet unless you want to walk around like a snail
Check out Adam Savage. He was amazed that the result was bullet-proof. Fun Fact: protect your neck from bullet shrapnel, as that's a thing with bullet-proof apparently.
