It's okay chase, I am an isfj and I watch ur other vids, I actually find you criticize other types the same amount (if not more ) than isfjs lol
Keep up the good work and don't stop telling us our flaws!
Edit: watching this a year later and it brings me to tears when you say that you find isfjs the most hardworking out of all the types, recently ive been feeling on a daily basis that no one sees my efforts or that my work is useless even though I barely ever rest. Thank you for that! Lol it sounds dumb but means alot for someone to see my hardwork being acknowledged by someone on the internet. my critic gets to me every single damn day.

Ok - I had to laugh just a little. I am an ISFJ (albeit with quite a strong N factor) with an ENTP dad WITH ASPERGER'S and when you started down the road of "people not being able to handle negativity" it made me smile. I have to say that life experience sure helps a lot when it comes to not minding hearing the negative alongside the positive. And ya, we all have annoying and hard to live with habits that drive other people crazy. Let's not pretend we don't and get upset when someone shines a light on those things.

  • @carlurbananimals

I feel like the ISFJ - ISTJ childhood friendship is one of the strongest childhood friendships because we both stay in the childhood stage of life longer than the other types, it's sad that we both end up so lonely in our early adulthood, it's weird how the ISFJ - ISTJ friendship goes from spending so much time together in childhood to having hardly any interaction in adulthood. We ISTJs get so bitter when they start to make friends with other people with their Fe-parent, that we begin to wear the mask that we resent society and remove ourselves from the social norms to spite the ISFJs.
It is also weird how you say the ISFJs can become the most desirable, for this to happen they must remove themselves from the childish ISTJs, but they must still cherish the lessons that the ISTJs helped them learn.

My dad is an ISFJ, we couldn't type him with the type grid. We haven't tried your test. We had to try another method, not any test! Now it all makes sense. The informative aspect was what prevented and precluded all of us from typing him as ISFJ. We were thinking ISTP, because of the stupid stereotypes, initially. Apparently ISFJs can also be mechanical and build anything. I am assuming ISFJs also never complain about physical pain. Perhaps the Si endurance. Now it makes sense, everything fits. Also, what I wrote below, more for people outside the family.

    • @hirsch4155
      @hirsch4155 3 роки тому

Yeah my dad is an ISFJ too, these videos helped confirm it. Any stereotype I’ve read about them hindered me in typing him. My dads pretty mechanical and likes to fix, in fact he was a mechanic for many years. But going in depth the ISTP, for example, never seemed to fit.

Also I agree with the catch 22 where they don't have skills, so they can't get skills, but that's where there friendship with ISTJs comes in to use, the exchange between the Si-Hero and Se-Nemesis of both, enables them to both learn new skills and the ISTJ can transition into their subconscious, to teach them without expecting anything in return, but as a finisher type the ISTJ just needs to learn that this is only a temporary friendship for the ISFJs, and thanks to this video I now respect that decision of the ISFJs to only have this friendship temporarily, and will not have to dedicate my finisher mentality into winning back my ISFJ friends...and ISTJs actually get to be friends with somebody for once.

Hey Chase, something a little random but on a slightly related note. You've shown that you're a fan of anime before so I was wondering whether you have watched Death Note. If so I would like to enquire as to what you think of my typing of Yagami Light. I had always thought like many that Light was an INTJ but after viewing your lectures on the superego and the demon function I have come to the conclusion that Light is actually an ISFJ ego and so is actually an INTJ superego and that it's the most dominant part of his psyche throughout the series, apart from when he loses his memories and acts like an ISFJ :-O, because he made his deal with the devil to cleanse the world of injustice (ISFJ as fuck btw). Or am I wrong in my thinking and he is actually an INTJ ego.

I don't think you unfairly criticize us isfj's more than others - you are an equal opportunity offender to all types 😆 Besides, my Si & Ti need that constructive criticism to push me towards being better. At midlife, I'm going to (*gasp*) stop being loyal to people/institutions that aren't loyal to me, and break out towards something new. I'm a little afraid/uncertain - but I have the willingness & endurance to trial & error my way through this new phase because that's what I've done my whole life. And it works!!! Thanks Chase - your entp chutzpah encourages that part of my brain.

ISFJs only talk about the outcome. But in research outside of this field, people who are outcome focused excessively tend to have worse end results. Think of long-term weight loss, for instance. When you are so outcome focused, you just keep moving the goalpost each year. Because losing weight, getting in shape, learning a language, are day by day, not one grand end outcome. It is what I notice about Trump, he only talks about the outcomes. Whenever he is talking about a process, it is usually in a negative way. It is almost as if he wishes the process could just be over with.

I think being outcome focused is a good thing. The "you just keep moving the goalpost each year" is fine as long as there is something worth achieving. You have to reevaluate that every now and then or will get stuck in an endless cycle.
Of course it's more difficult to actually getting started if you can't get to your outcome for a while and have to gradually make it there.

An affiliative type raised in one culture will have very different values from one raised in a much different one. The main example here is probably how STJs in the US or Canada will often be very social justice warrior like while ones in the middle east may be completely against that.

@@syedmaziburrahman3993 everyone's sorta unhealthy I don't think anyone survives life unscathed but some personalities will just destroy themselves like by becoming addicts and others (particularly those with Fe) will focus on destroying others without even realizing it. Fi is way more self aware and has the right amount of empathy so it won't force others and just wants its own moral code to be good, Ni is also very self-aware coz it always knows what it wants so it doesn't bother others either. If you're not a Te-dom, your Te is pretty balanced with your tertiary Fi. But Fe people are too invasive when unhealthy.

and still, you are overcriticizing ISFJs compared to all other types and yes, I watched all the videos about other types. You criticize ISFJs much more. It would be okay if your criticism was based on your interactions with many different types of ISFJs and you found some correlations. But your experience is based mostly on your interactions with your mom (which was I believe an unhealthy ISFJ).
And what makes a certain type anyway? Certainly not the fact that some of them post pictures of their children on Facebook. What makes a certain type - is their fears and the way they cope with stress (for the most part). Everything else is just correlations that do not prove anything.
