Use 2 pliers, one to grab the shaft and the other one to turn the silver nut behind the gear. However it's not going to do RWD drift easily, you'll need to mod the front to have extreme steering angle eg. near parallel so it won't spin and you can hold the drift.

Can you please do a Tamiya mini 4WD brushed motor swap for speed and efficiency? that would be cool since back then. You did suggest that a hyper-dash motor would also be okay with a mini Q or a wltoys but we haven't seen any tutorial of it.
For brushless motor you can fit a small plate ESC like XC-10A then use separate ESC because it already use separate 3 wires servo so no need to use Mini-Z electronics. AMR is very good already, keep it. This car is also quite expensive compared with AMR Unfortunately you're going to solder most of stuff in this scale. The cheapest without soldering is not that cheap either. Atomic ESC and motor will come with all the plugs but the thing that connect to receiver is JST-ZH 1.5 so if you have a receiver with that plug already like Sanwa or Futaba mini receiver then you're fine. Otherwise... more soldering.

You can check what body has which wheelbase here mini-z-guide.com/bodies.htm
I bought the same SC430 body you did but am having a hard time figuring out which T plate I need to buy. Any suggestions?
@@ryanhodges2296 Shorter plate from 3Racing. The one for MM/LM. www.3racing-parts.com/kyosho-miniz-mr03-frp-plate-for-55mm-3racing-mr305dfrp-p-90016388.html
Then you have to make some modification to top mount too. You can't use the old rolling damper so you have to take it off and connect the motor case directly to the shock like this, I use M2 nylon standoff and a part from other car to mount it. i.imgur.com/UmNy1ms.jpg
Here's my temporary T-plate. i.imgur.com/OgDDzoX.jpg
Hi beaver can I make this kit into rwd drift? Thank you
Not easily. You'll need quite a lot of ingenuity to modify the steering to turn enough to drift.
@@BeaversHobby so you still suggest mini q trq 1 with minor upgrades?
@@rienkybhayu6294 For budget, get the WLtoys K969. I have far to many complaints for TRQ1 nowadays and it's something to avoid unless you already have a standard (3 wire system) RC radio with receiver so you can replace the ESC and servo easily and cheaply.
@@BeaversHobby I already have a flysky gt3b transmitter and reciever, by the way can I use mini z body in wltoys? And what wb?
@@rienkybhayu6294 WLtoys is 98mm wheelbase, wide chassis out of the box. It's adjustable to 102mm too. Here's the list of compatible bodies and wheel offset I've compiled. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v2sVg072T2Xl4tvEEy_E7kiDdmen-gRIWWm-pIp1VXY/edit#gid=0

Friend, just clarify me one thing, please.
If the front get broken, we dont have spare parts even from Mini-z? ?? O.o Thanks!
No, we don't. We can mod Mini-Z knuckles to fit but steering link and suspension mount are nowhere to be found.
@@BeaversHobby Hummm... Im thinking of buying it, but this steering and suspension worries me. :(
So, we cant even mod the suspension and steering? D:
Ill really think about it. Thanks friend. Excellent vídeo! :)
Sorry for so many questions :x
Steering can be modded quite easily by using small ball links and turn buckles. The suspension will be challenging but seems to be doable. It has holes at the front for springs like MR03 but screw placements are a bit different.
Also don't worry about the questions. Just ask and I'll try to answer as much as I can/know.
@@BeaversHobby Thanks for your patience, friend. :)
Ill be sure to check your channel as long as I can! Cheers!! :)
Nice review. Subscribed.
Your English is amazing
Please ,try xmods evo
I need your opinion 🤣😭
Very nice. Is what upgrades are you planning to do?
Right now I've fitted ball bearings, T-plate, softer rear spring and Firelap tyres. I don't know what I'm going to do next. Maybe I'll make a tutorial of how to convert this to brushless. So it'll become a budget Mini-Z VE.
I was thinking about converting my WLtoys to another car(drift, touring, PaN, whatever), but I'm still looking for a cheap affordable brushless system for the AMR without any soldering. Pan cars are pretty cool but I don't want to buy another car since they are a bit too expensive anyway. :) :(
@@BeaversHobby i love your scale working and realy interesting videos
AMR is very good already, keep it. This car is also quite expensive compared with AMR
Unfortunately you're going to solder most of stuff in this scale.
Wanted to test this car for a long time because I also race mini z cars at a track but the lack of spare parts is why I can’t get myself to buy one. Every rc manufacturer should have a decent stock of spare parts to sell, otherwise their product is doomed to fail.
Exactly! This car has been on sale for so long and still there're no spares from Mini-Q. What you can do is Frankenstein it with Mini-Z parts.
Beaver's Hobby That is possible indeed, but the parts that brake often are those steering blocks and those from mini z will not fit.
@@dennisvandervloet8640 Exactly! I've been asking Banggood about spares availability but there's no response neither for this car nor Firelap that I reviewed earlier.
Same exact motor they use in the xmods cars
I still love my xmods.
How expensive is it?
Look it up its 900,000 yen
Look in the Video
69 USD. It's not that expensive but when you compare it with WLtoys that's full ball bearing, AWD and metal chassis everything become expensive real fast.
Damn I don’t have money
@@bharafelder there is a sale right now. its for sale for $39.99, for me shipping is $1.81.
To drift?
Unfortunately it can't. You'll need to mod the steering.
Flysky GT3b ได้ไหมครับ
ได้ครับ
you should DEFINITELY turn it into a rwd drift car
Come to look at it, this seems to be doable.
@@BeaversHobby in my opinion the difficult part would be getting more steering angle.
@@bilbine5766 That's the only thing needed to be done. Everything else is ready. I've seen a video with MR03 modded to drift car with just new front for more steering angle and that works brilliantly. Albeit that uses 3D printing which I don't have.
Can you do a giveaway? 😅
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll think about it.
Review XMods if im not mistaken they stop making those car .. So sad
It's discontinued for a long time now. I quite like to have one for collection but it's hard to find here in Greece.
Hi where do you live? This looks like a Belgian ice scream bucket from Delaize :-)
Greece
Beaver's Hobby Cool! I didn’t know Delhaize was also present in Greece.
@@MrJoris666 Wow! I didn't know where it from. The ice-creme was nice.
Thumb up for your show but this car is the worst rc car I've ever seen.
Wltoys k989 is more versatil less expensive, more upgradable and More similar to bigger sized cars.
@@francescoorru1980 This car only appeals to people who want Mini-Z RWD but also open compatibility for electronics.
WLtoys has much more value for money because it does everything... I mean everything! Touring, drift, mild offroad you name it!
Copy of mini z + xmod evo chassi
but still a good option imo
