Went on a 5 day tour of Guilin and Yangshuo. It is a beautiful place. You should have gone to the show at night on the river at Yangshuo ( sorry can’t remember the name) it was amazing.

Yes we mostly stay at hostels (dorms about 40-50% of the time) or cheap guesthouses. So nice to hear you're enjoying our videos, thank you for watching them 🤗🙏🏻 we just arrived in Vietnam and will be spending a few weeks here, travelling onwards over land to Bangkok normally. South East Asia here we come 😍

if you have enough time travel in China，you can go to Changbai mountain in Jilin province in northeast of China. It is different than other landscape. it also very famous in Chine. It is the best landscape in northeast of China. Hope you can go there.

Our highlights were: Beijing (lots of culture and history), Pingyao (beautiful old city) and Zhangjiajie (great scenery). If you like big modern cities, Shanghai is amazing too.

@@NaickKim Thanks! When you got your China visa and had to present your airline ticket & hotel reservation.....did you have to show every hotel at all the different cities? Or just your first one when you arrive? We want to do a 4-week trip but not be locked down into a set schedule ahead of time.
Haha, you missed the best season to visit the Li River, July and August. And Yulong River is a beautiful river suitable for rafting in Yangshuo
The views were still very beautiful. What's different in July and August?
Naick & Kim In the summer, the sky in Yangshuo is more transparent, and you can swim while riding on bamboo rafts.

The river cruise is much longer than the bamboo raft trips though, right? 4-5 hours compared to about 2 on the raft? No idea what the price of a raft trip is though

Nope, with our big camera. Canon 80D and a small army of lenses. Compare this video to the first one we did of the Orangutans in Sumatra and you'll see the difference in quality. That one was filmed on the gopro
I highly recommend you guys to stay in a hotel in a village in yangshuo but not the hustle and bustle yangshuo City. The best thing to do is cycling along Yulong river and you can swim in the river. The view is out of thie planet.

If you had to ask me what is donation or patron vs begging, I would say both are completely different spectrum. You both left your job to explore different parts of the country/world and already you both have shown enthusiasm, commitment and dedication in what you both do. However, there will be days that it is not always easy for both of you and it is not always seen on camera, but you have to also consider that there are people in this world who enjoy watching the videos you both are making on how you want it to be and who should be in your community.
Donation is where we as a community gives us an opportunity to support you with what you do. In order for you both to keep it consistent as your community grows and for you both to continue to do what you do with these travels video, you need to also consider sensibly how to also look after your wellbeing during these travels and even convenience. there are times you can take a train from one city to the next which may take several hours, and depending on your target audience, some may not even take such transportation but may be interested to see the maglev which is more pricer option to get into the city from airport but takes 7-9 mins depending on traffic, weather and time of the day. You can always put a disclaimer that donations are not required, but donations are definitely appreciated but not obligated! All contributions go towards to improvement for the channel and expenses. Patron is for those who like your content and want to see more of it, including some goodies. e.g. receiving behind the scene photos, autograph, etc. depends what you would like to provide to your community that is practicable, safe and sensible.

If you are fond of natural scenery, maybe Hainan Province(island), Sichuan and Yunnan province are good choices.

Beautiful scenery on that cruise, it brought me great memories of when I did it a few years back. If you have a chance, go to a Chinese version of a farmer's market, so you can show your audience all the live animals they sale there, people are going to flip out when they see the live snakes, cats, dogs, in cages ready to be slaughter for that evening's dinner.
Wow, that sounds crazy haha. I haven't heard that they eat cats as well. Dog is well-known I guess. Have you ever tried any of that?
@@NaickKim Nope we didn't try dog, but as part of our tour in China, in Guilin we took a Chinese cooking class, so we had to go to a Chinese style farmer's market, to buy the fresh meat and vegetable for our dinner that day. At the market we saw alive dogs in cages, dead skinned dogs on hooks, cats in cages, all types of snakes dead and alive and numerous other animals. I asked our tour guide if they ate cat and she told us that they eat everything with four legs, except a table. Our experience at that market was something I will never forget, it would definitely make a good video! :) Safe travels!

Eating dog isn't common,only a few people in a few areas have this experience because of their traditional festival but now you can hardly find people eat dog .Snakes are sometimes used to make medicinal liquors, which have a good therapeutic effect. Don't trust biased comments.China has many delicious food everywhere ,why we need to eat pets?
@loumcast, that sounds like a crazy experience haha. Would be interesting. Someone here mentioned a joke that went something like this: aliens have landed in the west of China. Beijing sent some scientists to investigate. Shanghai sent a business man to see if they can make some money out of it and the south sent a cook to prepare the aliens ;)
