This is genius-level entrepreneurship. How do you debunk the mystery behind an overhyped pedal, convince consumers that you don't need the most expensive gear to sound good, yet at the same time promote and innovate your own brand to remain competitive in the market? Make a DIY pedal kit! Josh Scott is BRILLIANT
100% THIS
And not just diy, but SOLDERLESS! Anyone can build this...literally. No magic allowed here!
There's always going to be people who believe Bill's claim that his mystery germanian 1N34A diodes that he claims he has cornered, are the real thing worth paying for. Or that the original 1st version sounds that much more sweeter. We're dealing with people who believe in magical things like tonewood, tubes or pickups after all. And who took to paying big money for the Digitech Bad Monkey are watching Josh's video. And there are of course always those people who LOVE the bragging rights for owning an $8000 first edition Klon. Look at me, peons and despair! I got an original Klon!

What do you use?
There are almost as many "build your own Klon Clone" projects out there as there are Koon Clones!
I think this is, by far, my favourite episode. Genius idea. Ethan and Millie need their own pedal show.
I already gave a thumbs up, but this deserves a heart up.
The kids are hilarious, and watching them interact with the dads is absolutely heartwarming. It's like Hallmark started a pedal company. Like, I might have cried a little.
Ethan’s “break” at 7:24 is epic. Millie is quick and smart. Those two are going places. They are so confident. Great parenting!
I think their genes have a LOT to do with it. I know kids where NO amount of good parenting would save them from being total ar$eholes.
Those kids are adorable, lol. I loved their input on this episode.
This is the first time I've been remotely interested in buying a Klone. JHS marketing is insane. It's crazy that they packed all of that into a $99 package.
Adorable? (Shudder.) I love kids - - - but I couldn't eat a whole one.
@@bordonbert?
@@INeverWanted2010 Don't worry, it's just an old standard joke dragged out to salve my irritation INW. I was only making light of the fact that some of us find precocious children who love being the centre of attention in an adult world and the adults who adore their prima donna antics to death a bit - well - underwhelming. One man's adorable is another's blackboard nail dragging. The review of the project might have been so much better as a review featuring kids who weren't looking to be the stars of their own UA-cam vid. Maybe, I hesitate to say it, even better with no kids at all.
@@bordonbert ... Bro. You're talking to someone that has never been a fan of kids in general. I'm in my 30's and still don't plan on ever having any. Screaming/crying kids in public is the bane of my existence.
So when I say your last comment made even me roll my eyes, you should be impressed. I've seen some sad sacks in my day, but you take the cake. Jesus Christ.
@@INeverWanted2010 Sorry you feel that way my friend. It's good to live in a world where people can take someone having a different opinion. Standards of behaviour are still a little different over here. We still have a little feeling left that our kids are actually better off understanding that the Universe doesn't revolve around them. But don't worry, we're learning from you fast.
It was a review of a technical project and while the kids were there to make the point that anyone could make it, which worked very well, their precocious behaviour got in the way and detracted from the message. Only in my opinion (as far as I care anyway). Which is a valid one to have. You have a nice day over there now. God bless your little humourless cotton socks.
"Do you think people should spend $8000 on a pedal?"
"If it's for a UA-cam video and you get paid, yes"
This kid is a genius
like father, like son
Wonder where he gets it from
yep he is not wrong
This is just absolute genius. I don't need this but I'm going to buy it anyway. Massive respect.
It might even balance your wobbly table! 🤔 Now I'm seriously considering buying one...
@@MrPinkfloydian that’s a big wobble! 😁
Me too !
Came here to say the EXACT same thing
Love that Josh has been leaving us all the breadcrumbs for this since he was so enthusiastic about those Korg pedals, and hinting that since KTR was dead now was the time. “JHS Pedalmatic Universe: it’s all connected, by Ernie Ball cables”
What a fantastic idea and offering. Thank you for this JHS! Got mine ordered! The kids were adorable too, “That’s only two cups of coffee!”
Have fun!
I just received mine today. I was assembling it and with a scornful look my wife asked "What have you got there? Did you buy another pedal?" to which I answered "Just be thankful it's NOTAKLÖN!".
One thing that will never get old is Josh‘s equation to cups of coffee. I get the impression that he has his employees buy him coffee and this is what they say how much he owes them. Never thought to question how the price of coffee increased by 1000% in the last two years…
Its gonna be like south park. Absurd at first, but every year closer and closer to reality
Was going to ask about where he is buying coffee, but I like this answer.
Thank you for NOT making this a limited release. Sounds great, building it yourself looks fun, and $99…genius release all around.
Reported for child labor, those are clearly professionals... I may or may not have broke mine...😢
The kids are freakin CUTEE!! The product is also great idea. I think JHS should adapt this concept for other famous pedals such as Blues Breaker, TS-808 etc.
Got mine in the mail today and I managed to get it together without even cracking open the instructions. It sounds great! I don't have a Klon to compare with it, but I also don't really understand the fascination with expensive gear.
nice!
An entire line of JHS built-it-yourself pedals would actually be genius and hugely beneficial to musicianship and music education. You tend to learn better making it yourself.
Not only is this the greatest product announcement video I have ever seen, I ordered one and will build it with my kids. I fully support everything about this.
Same
Anyone else finding it really heartwarming to see the Josh and Nick building these with their kids?
Just bought one I can’t wait. Thanks very much! I’ve been watching for a year or so thanks for all that you do.🎉
And... I am also crying... like literally with tears... this is sooooo awesome. JHS MADE IT AGAIN! CONGRATS TO WHOLE TEAM! YOU ARE AWESOME
thank you!!!! 😭
I also sent link to other dad guitarists and they ordered as well@@jhspedals
🧢
😭🥲
All those wannabe Content Creators would do well to view this and learn from it. This is brilliance through and through and Millie & Ethan are as cute and convincing as can be! I'm ordering one!
An Ethan or a MIllie?
@@stuartp8658 much like this pedal, you have to make your own.
The kids are a natural 🎉
02:30 the kids already thinking like a pro 😂
Everything, every single thing about this was incredible. Good for you guys.
Ethan and millie’s dads are pretty cool dudes. Hope to see more of them in the future
i don't have the fundus for any of that chungus
You folks are absurdly awesome for doing this!
I'm late to the game and just now seeing this. Fantastic video and product! Thanks for keeping it fun and for being so genuine, especially this time of year. Really, really great!
JHS really knows how to keep it interesting and exciting. This is such a cool idea, guys. I got one.
thank you!
As a Guitarist and a dad this was awesome!!!
💪💪💪
I’m going to build it with my 2 daughters. And I’ll probably get them a Squishmallow since this doesn’t cost $8000.
I’m in awe, Josh! What wonderful, joyous episode, the kids just owned it, and you made your point from an audio perspective. This is the personification of perfection, dude!
Love everything about it, you guys have a wonderful company and great ideas, I already got one yesterday! we need more kits like this! ❤❤
“It’s not a Klon until you build it.” Brilliant.
Josh and Nick must be very proud parents. That was so wholesome and I wish Ethan and Millie brightest of futures. You rock kids 🤘
This is pure genius! The whole thing from concept to product to this legendary video to market it... freakin nailed it
this is my favourite pedal video on youtube, brilliant and actually makes me want to buy one. well done
I think Jhs is the best company in this era.. They are never boring. I love this channel and their products
I agree. Josh has really brought a lot of joy with this Channel.
I think what is most interesting is they are also pushing the industry with some of their ideas and return to boutique kind of feel. The Boss collab for example blew me away.
Earthquaker
Pedal wise JHS never impressed me. Taking existing designs and tweaking them a little bit. In the DIY pedal community he used to be a bit of a joke. And pedal kits are a dime a dozen now. His channel, humor and online personality are however amazing and his love for pedals shines through. I still think Wampler or Earthquaker are far more original in their designs though.
The Pedal, the sales pitch, all genius. The video, easily the most wholesome and fun video you've ever done.
Superb. Design, execution, promotion... genius. Can't wait for mine to arrive!
👏👏👏 Well done sir! Adding this to my collection for my little buddy to build. Thanks for what you guys do!
Freakin unbelievably genius. I don’t need it, but I have to buy it. I hate you, Josh, but I love you. You continually revolutionize the pedal industry
This hits a sweet spot I didn’t know I even had, right at the point where my love of pedals, y’all, and IKEA intersect. Before the vid was even over, I just ordered two for my son and I to assemble together!
Woah, that's awesome!!! Thanks for the support :)
So glad you are doing this as a DIY for absolute beginners. Video concept having the kids build it was cool too.
What a great video! Top to bottom, this is a fantastic concept. Giving people an affordable way to obtain the circuit while simultaneously helping to dispell the myths surrounding it AND also giving individuals a taste of the pedal building process is genius. I hope your team sells a million.
NOTA series has to be done for all the legendary pedals. I would definitely want a full NOTA board:)
That's NOTA bad idea
NOTA chance they make a full board
Yea! Please offer the NOTAJHS!🙃
This is genius on so many levels. If Josh did not come up with this idea I hope there is a fat holiday bonus for whomever did.
I loved this video! Josh seems like the coolest guy to work for and I love his sense of humor! Keep up the good job guys!!
I'm actually more inspired towards building my own pedals after watching this. Great stuff.
Your Marketing Team are geniuses. Seriously. It all just comes together. The concept, the package design, jeez. I swore off buying any more gear for this year, and now I may have to break my promise.
Yeah, BLAME the kids!
@@DMSProduktions You did realize the guy you're reading to isn't even talking about the kids, right? You're funny!😆
@@junehabsen6368 I know, but you can STILL blame them for this lol!
This is genius. Let’s just hope the swedish branch of JHS never tries to release a shelf with the same name. The chances are never really zero. Also I vote for a more advanced version that involves soldering. The Klønsense. On the other hand, I don’t wanna deal with the tiny SMD components… damn. 😂
The thought that has gone into the design and packaging of this kit is really rather brilliant.
Super cool. Just watched this before I got up. The three of you really made my day.
That was the greatest sales pitch in the history of guitar gear. The old theater maxim of never follow kids or animals--perfect, nobody can follow that. The kids were awesome, and since I'm certain the product is as well, I've forwarded the video to my own children, implying that I too, might be capable of assembling such--Christmas is coming, right?
great job.
Ok man I really really love this. I think I'm going to buy one and save it for a few years when my daughter is old enough to put it together, I think it could be a really great father/daughter bonding project. She already loves messing with my amps and pedals and pretending she's demoing the gear I'm playing, so I think she'll love making one herself. This is such a cool take on pedal kits and I hope to see more in the future.
the most wholesome comment in all of yt. I REALLY hope you do this!!!
Any chance to bond is a good one. You win the internet today.
You guys are amazing, and great storytellers, you can learn and have fun with those videos. thanks again!
Definitely on my wishlist! I don't even need a klon or klon alternative, but I adore the aesthetic and the thought behind this. Plus it's a nice simple build to have fun with on a slow day!
The “they’re everywhere” sequence was incredible ❤
Yeah, LMAO at that, too...
This was my quickest impulse buy ever. I'm gonna build it with my kids. We live in Israel 🇮🇱 and definitely need some fun these days.
Sending prayers to you guys!
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
Palestinians don’t get to even have fun because of the Israeli government.
Stay safe brother.
Peace unto you. Free the oppressed.
“It’s only 99 dollars! That’s 2 cups of coffee!” Bruh I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣
LMFAO Including Goop to add magic and hide the secret sauce is genius
Josh is such a gem. This looks like so much fun. Definitely want one of these kits, just for the fun of it. I'm sure it sounds great too :P
🖤🖤🖤
we needed this. we need a $99 Marshall Bluesbreaker MkI kit too. this was such a great episode, didn't feel the 16 minutes pass by at all. and I'll take a moment to say that it was so refreshing to see Ethan and Millie, they're really cute! keep up the good work, folks, you're my favourite guitar pedal UA-cam channel. I learn so much every time I watch anything you post. 🙌🏻
BLŮSBREKA! Yeah! They gotta do it.
And a Guv'nor. NotaGuvernör.
Buy a Mooer Blues Crab. Mine was $46 and it’s tiny and perfect.
better yet, a 99$ kit that combines the marshall bluesbreaker and klon into one pedal!
Brilliant! Millie and Ethan I’m so proud of you!! You’re SUPERSTARS!
That is the best video ever! Your child and grandchild were so fun to watch as they assembled those pedals! The joy on all your faces is priceless!
If I had to give an award for best marketing strategies , Josh would be up on the Podium ! This is brilliant but with humour and love !
Thank you JHS team !
This now is my absolute favourite episode! ❤
The kids are awesome, the dads are proud and the jokes are really good and the IKEA references are a lot of fun.
I don't care about the klon at all, but this makes me want to buy one, just because that episode was so adorable. 😅
This is such a great video on so many levels. I dig it!
What an awesome idea, absolutely genius. A great way to introduce DIY pedal building to the uninitiated. I'm blown away 👏
JHS really impresses me. I think they're the best thing going right now and this right here, is freaking brilliant.
Super fun idea!! Those mini-mes are the real clones!
Beautiful episode, amazing product idea.
This is a VERY cool video. A next level concept and release from JHS. You guys work hard to outdo yourselves over and over and it shows. Wishing you all a well-deserved success.
Not only is this the pedal we asked for, it’s the pedal we need right now in these days. Bless you, JHS.
Wait… I just realised watching the credits that Nick from JHS is the same guy that wrote « Spiders » which is a song I stumbled upon on Spotify randomly and that is definitely one of my favorite songs right now ??? That’s great !! Lots of love Nick ! :)
Great video, really wholesome so see dads building guitar pedals with their children :)
@simondavid2519 would you be so kind to post a link to it or the name of the artist? There are plenty of songs named spiders on spotify. Thanks!

You guys knocked it out of the park with this one!
So original and entertaining. Thank you, Josh.
Outside the cool idea this video shows once again that great people make great kids. Josh, I think you both have future influencers on your hands.
Amazing product idea, but the presentation and the joy of the kids is just epic. As a dad of 2 teen girls I can tell you I am in tears (in the best way)❤❤❤
Bravo, what a wonderful and wholesome video. Best of success to all involved!
I am really liking the Josh Mod on the NOTAKLON. Fablou! . I will getting one for sure. Super impressed. Sounds amazing ! Thanks. This video was so informative and learned new stuff about KLONDIKE.
I went from not knowing this existed to needing it for survival to having one on the way with incredible speed and agility.
This is so great. From great pedals to the musical to the documentaries to this project - the whole vibe at JHS makes me want to buy more JHS pedals and support what y’all are doing in the world. Thank you to all at JHS for what you do!
This is incredible just ordered mine I’m so excited to build it!
Fuggin’ love you Josh. What a wonderful idea.
I’ve been waiting/hoping for the JHS Klon to be rereleased, and this “some assembly required” approach is exactly why I held-out for a JHS Klon.
Thank you for picking-out my Christmas-present to myself. 🤘🏻
OMG! That was so fun! I’ve never laughed so much with a pedal video, and you guys frequently crack me up. Ethan and Millie were great and natural: I expect them to go places!
I immediately went to the site and pre-ordered. Too cool!
Buddy - I got to tell you. I have purchased a few pedals from you just because these videos are so funny and because of the quality of your pedals and the sounds. Your dedication to the work does not go unnoticed. Thank you.
Im like 40 seconds in the video and I already want one regardless of the sound... Brilliant idea Josh, I want to build it with my kids
I've struggled with soldering on kits, which is why I'm excited to get this one. I hope these do well and that there are more!
You are, by far, not the only person.
Soldering sucks.
What a bold move! Just brilliant!! That's a unique way to bring the value down in the 2nd hand market of original Klons.
This has forever raised the bar on so many levels. Well done!
This is so cool. One of the best ideas I've ever seen. This is going to be an amazing Christmas morning present and activity. Awesome Josh and crew. Thanks!
Fantastic and enjoyable video to watch, congrats on the idea!
I'm always amazed at how good these videos turn out! To be honest, anybody could follow this Chanel, regardless of whether they are into guitars or not. The editing, the humor, the continuous originality... these guys are geniuses !
I honestly can't talk myself out of buying this. Best case it sounds awesome and I learn things. Worst case I just learn things.
So many cool funny informative videos from Josh. This one is no exception. Your kids really make it fun. Looks like a good pedal. Thanks Josh, I appreciate what you do.
I love y’all for this. I’m so excited to get mine. I’m gonna make a decal that say “ Kindly remember, the ridiculous inflation of certain pedal is of Josh’s doing”😊
Finally the 3 Series Klon I have ben waiting for, Thank You Josh! It was fun assembling this pedal cant wait to plug it in. now I just need a 3 Series Octave Fuzz.
This is by far the very best product idea I've seen in a long time! Great timing, great product, even a great name! The video is a great combination of entertainment, product demo, and marketing all in one! I'm definitely grabbing one for Xmas myself!
Congrats on the amazing work, JSH!
What a guy you are Josh ! and just in time for Xmas ! Genius idea AND solderless also "AND" + AND - thrown in also. The comparisons were indistinguishable, both sounding amazing. Well done Josh, and a saver on real estate.
That is gorgeous. And the pedal sounds great. Great idea!
I gotta say, you’ve made something very special in your company. Much respect and continued success
This is just hilarious and awesome. Very clever and you're not breaking your handshake agreement. Very cool idea!
