Steinberg has always been the best. Keep it
Excellent
Great tool
I like being able to extend the note in the Key Editor
wonderfull
Thanks Dom
Can harmonies be done using the chord pads?
Nice
Super
Hey, Dom,
As I like to take my manuals with me on my ipad wherever I go, does anyone know where version 13 keeps it's pdf manual?
Yes - I am a bit weird that way but it works for me :-)
Would this also work with programming key-switches to de-quantized material???
At last Steinberg started to improve the most important things instead of adding new plugins and libraries to the DAW.
Would be great to make better routing, some layering innovations, macros and the most important AI quantize function
Hi Dom, thanks for this video. I would ask one thing about faders. I would create a fader to control cc1 or cc11 (or others) in Cubase 13 pro (not remote control). I tried many times selecting "note to cc" and other parameters, but when I move the fader, it control only volume. How can I resolve the problem? Many thanks. 😊
How do I add flams to chords? Are there logical editor presets for that? Please help me with this. I know the slice tool method but that's too time consuming over multiple midi clips without creating shared copies of those. A function like Q flam (Logic Pro X) would be really helpful in Cubase 13 or any other upcoming versions. Even a separate midi transform window would do wonders for us 😊
Thank you for the enlighting video - these improved functions surely are a time saver and I am looking forward using them 🙂
However it is a little bit disappointing that Steinberg has obviously neglected to deliver an update for expression maps providing negative track delay for single articulations within an (orchestral) instrument - or have I missed something? A lot of composers would have enjoyed this functionality, which is supposedly implemented in DP and would save a ton of single tracks per articulation.
Since you, Dom, are also doing film composing, this would definitely be a relief for your workflow as well. Any idea, if there is anything in the pipeline?
Cheers, Henri
This !
I hope there is a way to hear the existing notes as you are adding additional notes for context.
Press Play?
I'm Cubase user but the last update of ableton is very powerful and modern. You guys should think about it.
Thank you so much Dom very interesting. While I am able to find the step midi mode in C12, in C13 impossible to find it. I am doing, sure something wrong but I followed your video without success.
Do you have any suggestion please?
Thanks in advance
Have you found it yet?
@@jvaddison Thank you so much, yes I found it, after the last update C13

i cant grab a midi note on the left side and make it shorter or longer from the left starting point. Is that a bug or is there a new procedure for that now in C13?
How to color the midi notes in the bar?
Hello Dom,
The problem I'm trying to resolve is that when I create a new Instrument or MIDI track, I'm unable to open ANY editor, List, Note etc. How does one perform step editing in a track that has no data?
I have this same issue right now
How do I move midi notes up or down an octave in cubase 13? Before I pressed shift and up or down. Doesn’t seem to work anymore. Thanks!
Please could you tell me why I can not see this step input buttom into my Midi Editor? I have the Cubase 13 Pro edition. All the other new tools are ok! A big thank you!
Is there an option clicking the gear wheel top right of the Key Editor
@@andrewholcroft.1945 I have the demo and the key editor isn't in the option area either
Hey Dom!
I'm having issues with frame rates in Cubase 13. Wondering if you (or any other viewers) are having issues with this? Seems that my copy of Cubase 13 can only import videos with frame rates with discrete numbers (24, 25, 30, and not 23.98fps). My issue is that I was working on this project on Cubase 12 and now Cubase 13 shows the video as a blank screen. I tried to re-import the video but Cubase doesn't do anything. Not even an error message.
I don't have any symbol for the Step Input feature showing up. Can anyone help??
Ma un episodio sulla chitarra verde?
I can't see the menu on mine
💚♥️
Reaper has this function for years😂
If you are someone who has studied musical harmony and knows how to play the piano you don't need this. If you are someone who has not studied musical harmony you cannot know how to harmonize with thirds, fifths, etc., especially in symphonic compositions. So what does all this help?
There are people who are beautifully skilled in piano that only plays by ear. Classical Composers are not the only demographic-you can use to make an ostinato generator as well as a synth chord lead.
The more options, the better. If that option isn’t for you-don’t use it.
How about people who know musical harmony but aren't great piano players?! I don't understand this comment, comes off as extremely elitist...
@@veenu8474 ,,What DAW do you think is the best: Ableton 12, Studio One 6, or Cubase 13?
It works like a sequencer on synth
Make a clip launcher like in all other DAWS if you really want to earn my money
What’s a clip launcher? Like ableton clip type of thing?
Ableton exists. Cubase doesn't need a clip launcher. Its not for live use.
@@MrVleker every DAW has a Clip Launcher, only cubsse doesnt.Ask you self why
@@electricjuiz only Ableton and Logic have one. Logic has it to copy Ableton. Professionals don't need it or wish to have it. I'd rather have a sketchpad like function as in Studio One
@@MrVleker absolute No...bitwig, Pro Tools, reaper, pro one...90 % of all DAWs have Clip Launcher...pleased Edu ate yourself via google
