Thanks for watching! If you have any questions, need advice, or need help just post a comment below. I am here to help you with your first guitar or bass build! 😊
I've been making a few cigar box style guitars which have helped me understand how to go through the process and fret work etc
Hey Gavin! That is a perfect way to start as well! Same concepts, just in a different form factor. Thanks for watching. 😊
I agree, Gavin. I've built a 6-string kit and a 3-string CBG. The CBG required most of the necessary skills but was considerably less expensive. After I've done a few of those I'll tackle a scratch-built 6-string.
@@tonysansom good to know! Thanks for watching Tony.
Great video man!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching. 😊
Excellent subject.
Thank you! Hope it helped you out in some way. 😊
I recently did a stewmac offset kit and FIY the neck doesn't have side dots. I don't know too much about the history of JM guitars maybe traditionally they don't have side dots, but I would love to see a video of how to install side dots!
Hey Mark, good to hear from you again! I noticed that too, I completely forgot about it when making this video.... I did install them in my offset build, so you'll see that in the video when it's released. I don't go over the step-by-step instructions on how to do it, but that is a great idea for a video! Maybe I'll make it when I install them next. Thanks for the idea! 😊👌🏻
Great video. I actually just started with some diy kits. How about a video on soldering - any tips there?
Thanks for watching Jeff! I don't have a dedicated video for wiring, but in my latest series building a partscaster, I have a whole video of the wiring process. If you still have questions, feel free to reply to me here or reach out at augmentguitars@gmail.com.

I think it would be neat if some of these kits from a known retailer would offer a neck and body only at a good price.
The only one that I really know of is Precision Guitar Kits. They are a bit more than the kits mentioned in the video, BUT they are higher quality. They offer unfinished bodies/necks that are ready for finish! You would think more companies would offer just the bodies/necks without all of the cheap hardware.... Hopefully one day!

Exactly, I know there are different levels of wood too but I mind cheap wood less than cheap electronics.
@@mikestory2272 Exactly, I totally agree!
