Carving oak leaves and acorns in to a leather belt

- I was making a carved leather belt and felt that this was a good opportunity to make a video about how to carve oak leaves. There are many different patterns available to leather workers that feature oak leaves of all different shapes and this is only one of the ways to carve them. It is my opinion that this type of motif is so common in leather tooling because of the link between oak trees and the process of preserving hides at a tannery to produce vegetable tanned leather for carving.
I am always working on building something and try to average a UA-cam video once a week. Most often leather work, but I have also posted videos on black smithing, knife making, casting, and even how I make soap. Be sure to Subscribe if you are interested in any of these topics, or just making things in general.
