So many great tips that you don't always find when learning how to tool. I love the tip about putting dots in the parts that will be backgrounded later. Is hard sometimes to see easily which sections are part of the vine and which are part of the background.

I'm glad you showed how to use the tools the right way. With tipping them one way or getting a smaller one makes it lots easier. I like how you do the design on a small piece to practice on before doing a whole belt. Thank you for the videos they are great
You make it look so easy! The leather belt I’m using is cheap and doesn’t cut easily or shade. I purchased a more expensive swivel tool and it definitely helps. Absolutely love this series, you’re very talented and because of this being available I definitely will continue!

Hey Joe, Merry Christmas a day late. I hope all is going well with the family. Great segments on creating this belt. Love the short and concise video's explaining all the little details most skip and forget about. I think one of my hardest tools to get the hang of is the Thumb Print Shader or the Pear Shader. I get anxious when I am getting close to the edge so I don't really create that nice little thin highlight which gives the tooling the nice depth. Just practice practice.

Your beginner kits do they include the wing dividers and edge beveled? And have you ever used olive oil instead of meats foot oil?

I have a question... on your decorative cuts, when you start the cut, are you using the same amount of pressure as a line for a border or vine cut...?

Merry Christmas Joe. I love your videos and your patterns. I think the hardest tool that I have been using is the thumbprint for shading. I think this video is going to help a lot with my shading. I love your work!!
Also what size thumbprint do you suggest for these pattern? I have a Barry King #1 and it seems a little small.
Merry Christmas. This thumbprint is more equivalent to a Barry king #2. The 1 will work fine but you will need to run it sideways a little to fill in the broader vines, as you’re noticing.

Merry Christmas! My swivel knife.... I see I have been connecting my cuts and should not do that.
Merry Christmas! That will take a bit of getting use to but once you realize how much you can do with your bevel, it really speeds up your knife.
