Good show Harvey, So many say they did it , but So few show you how. Nicely done !
Hey Tuffdog!!! I figured that the engine was on the bench, I may as well discuss some of the maintenance items.... Thanks for Ur kind words, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!
I have this exact engine on my 2008 SUNL SL150-26
It took me 3 purchases to get the correct belt size.
The 150cc GY6 short case (found with 10 inch wheels) are 743 20 30 (What you have)
The long case are 835 20 30 or 842 20 30 (found on 12 or 13 inch wheels, scooters)
Harvey,
Great vid on the belt change, They can be a bummer! Thanks Harvey...
GOOD TIMES!!!
Hey Dragos, I like to tell folks what can go wrong before they decide to do a procedure.... This way they can decide if they want to try it or shop it out.... Thanks for the encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Great video Harvey but you need to invest in a camera tripod. That way you can use both hands lol.
Hey MrShinagami!!! I do have a tripod, I just need to think about using it more often.... Thanks for the advice, kind words, watching, and commenting!!!!
It's nice to have a challenge. More fun without the tripod. Great vid!
Hello Harvey, heads up... these comments about flixzone are spam. report them and tell your viewers too.

Awesome teacher's aide!
Gonna getcha some Alumalloy? LOL
I don't see myself owning one of these engines any time soon, but thanx for the info all the same!
Yer a great fella Harvey! :D
Hey Captain!!! I think the Alumalloy is mostly zinc... Yes, I bought some of that....U would look good on a scooter with Crystal on the back!!! I need U to tell my wife that I am a great fella and have her believe U....LOL!!! Thanks for the laugh, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Good video . Wonders if kinda on its side with cover up , may help hold the shafts in .
Hey Terri!!! I still need to work on that Red Hammerhead cart that dropped the output shaft on the ground, seems to me, with as long as the output shaft is and the way the sprocket is way out on it, that final bearing will be subject to a lot of torque and stress, final bearing should not be much of a surprise, thanks for Ur thoughts, advice, watching, and commenting!!!
Thats a cvt not a torque converter
Thanks for the clear info on this gy6 setup Harvey. Would like to see how the aluminum welding turns out. Had to do a write up for college course in UK about new techniques they have found to weld aluminum and steel l together Interesting read. This can be found on the IMI site if you think it worth a read harvey
Hey Viewer, I think what I will actually be doing is brazing using a filler rod with a high zinc content and a mapp gas type torch.... The aluminum does not actually melt as it would if one was using a spool gun on a TIG welder... I may just go out and read Ur paper to learn what I need for my future of welding aluminum.... Thanks for the info, advice, watching, and commenting!!!
When installing the belt I squeeze the clutch until the belt drops down into the the groove some and then the belt slides easy on the variator which is what the part with the weights is called
Hey Billie!!! U R right, settling the belt into the back variable pulley makes it much easier to install the belt on the front one... Thanks for Ur thoughts, advice, watching, and commenting!!!
Seems like it is easier to replace the belt on a gy6 than other engines. Some require pulling the clutch pulley too.
Hey I have the same motor but with the different kind of transmission with forward neutral and reverse do all this part fit
I've had 4 scooters, none with gy6 engines. They all follow the same guidelines. They had/have an automatic centrifugal variated transmission, CVT with a belt(torque converter). Bare in mind some engines require removal of the clutch to get the belt off. Check gear oil at regular intervals. It can get low too. Have to admit this is the first single handed CVT belt replacement video I've seen. Lol!!!
David Collins CVT constant variable transmission. Also its technically inertia force that throws out the clutch not centrifugal force ;)
Do u have any belts for a moter skoter
Hey Johnathan! Sorry, no extra belts, all that I have are on an engine.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!
