Visiting from Canada my son lives in Brisbane Australia, we caught plenty of fish over the years in Canada, he’s been in Australia for 17 years, with little fishing success.
It’s Christmas, so I bought him a decent beach Rod.
I’ve been watching your videos picking up all the tips I can share with him.
We’re going camping near a beach area for a week soon, hope to try out your shared information.
    Thank you!

Just found your channel. So glad I did! I love fishing but never really learned how to. Nobody in my family did so no dad or uncle to learn me the ropes. I’m in my fifties now and I’m going to give it another go, armed with great videos from my “new fishing buddy in my pocket”! Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I’m sure most will be applicable where I live, Cape Town, South Africa.

Hi Roger and Bec. Thanks for sharing another fishing adventure. I love watching you catch fish. However, I really appreciate the way you explain the beach structure, how the tide is flowing, what the conditions are like and how to prospect for fish. All the tips that you have shared have helped me personally and so many other people to catch fish off the beach. And I am very grateful. Here is a suggestion for the blue bottle problem. I take a pair of wetsuit pants and surf boots with me to the beach because the water in Vic is so cold. Maybe this could help you to avoid being stung. Once again thank you. Kind regards MP

I lived in Bondi a while ago & was very suprised to catch so much on Bondi beach. The best was 6 species one evening on a rising tide. Just make sure the surfers have left first! I saw an old guy get a HUGE jewie & be annoyed as he just wanted some time out & now he had to go home , clean the fish & watch tele with wife, Grumpy old bugger.

    G Day Rodger.
Been following your interesting videos from the days of you living on the northern beaches. It was plainly obvious some time ago you moved to the beautiful south coast. How we haven't crossed paths up to this point is quite amazing. 50 years of what was once priority to surfing with fishing on the odd day in this truly special area, to now more fishing than surfing as the years have worn out body parts! It's with total respect for you the way you handled the identity of the areas you fish. It's probably from the old days of secret surf spots that made me shudder when I know exactly where you are fishing in many (if not all your videos). Im happy to share all the areas I fish, but there are times (holiday periods ) that I personally go into hiding and wait for quite times. As for the hours spent chasing the elusive Jew fish ? Join the club! like you, small soapies are about, but that 20kg + brute just never seems play to my plans.
Again thanks for your efforts you put into presenting your videos , I find them very enjoyable.
PS There is one sneaking little bolthole that I can call up some superb Drummer that I don't share with other anglers! Sorry

Hey Roger warn folks about wading too deep I had a couple run ins with shark where common, they might go on the menu for the evening.... Just a thought.. but on CAPE COD USA it has guite a possibility due to an unprecedented increase in grey seal population..... By the way your show is the possibly most enjoyable fishing show going in the USA market, probably because of your relaxed knowledgeable demeanor and Australia's clean beautiful nature. Exotic yet familiar.the beauty of your continent is amazing I am sort of surprised your government hasn't realized your venue would really increase adventure tourism fishing . I can't imagine them not comprehending that especially those who need to relax ... I think it would be a real draw💲💲💲💲💲💲I neglected to mention bull sharks I have seen those cruise beaches in the middle of the day virtually on the beach .

I often choose places that are protected from the prevailing swell, or I wait until the swell is 1m or less. It would be a bit harder on the Gold Coast because you have long stretches of beach. I would fish the southern ends of your beaches near the headlands.

Have had one occasion of landing a mulloway and the bottom two gangs were gone, and another where the fish was lost and again still had the top hook left. I think they are able to spread the eyes on the hooks as they pop their mouths trying to shake free. Much better to go a snelled rig

To increase your hook up rate put on a second split ring above the hook when using single or treble hooks is stops the fish using leverage to throw the hook.
You can also use a braided link instead of split rings this totally takes away the fishes ability to leverage.
Use an assist hook or pair of hooks on the hook end of the lure.
